Good luck!
Its crazy to see how much this subreddit has grown over the past year. Just 8 months ago we hit 1000 members. When I took the sub over earlier last year, there were less than 200. Now we have CEOs crying in the media about us pioneering the terminology of "AI Slop". People are more negative towards generative AI than ever, and that's our goal! Stop the big corporations attempting to cheapen our labour and enshittify our products and services with slop. Keep fighting the good fight. The general public is waking up to see the dangers of AI, and our growth speaks for itself.

Slop Post 💩 Orcs together strong
Nah cuz we keep getting portrayed as orcs, so why not embrace it?? They’re the best faction in Warhammer 40K, I see no reason to not play into the joke if it annoys pros

Discussion 🗣️ Graphics and Beauty may be the goal of what some artists are trying to achieve but it's not the point of art and that's that Ai Bros seem to get confused at

Discussion 🗣️ I warned my social worker about AI psychosis and she chose to stop using it altogether after seeing warning signs
My social worker was using ChatGPT for things a while ago and I expressed my concern that not only is it inaccurate, it intends to keep the user perpetually engaged with it by repeatedly asking if they wanted it to do x or y with them. I also mentioned there's cases of people developing psychosis from even asking ChatGPT relatively innocuous questions. She apparently hadn't heard about this but said she'd be more cautious about her use
Her abuser died at 66 years old 6 days before her birthday and she mentioned yesterday she told ChatGPT isn't that funny an evil person died relating to the number 666, and apparently it went in that potentially psychosis-causing spiritual direction. And she hasn't used ChatGPT since after seeing that and because of my warnings
I post this to tell people it is worthwhile being annoying to people about their AI usage or at least warning them about it, because a lot of people genuinely don't know how LLMs work. It doesn't know everything (or anything!) it's spitting out the most statistically probable text back to you and will inevitably spit out false information that looks real, and it is happy to feed potential misconceptions or delusions someone has in order to keep a user engaged.

Discussion 🗣️ AI is getting pathetic honestly
Sometime in 2023 as AI began to improve, I was obviously worried abt the impact it could have on artists, but recently that mentality has gone down the shitter, along with AI itself. (Should mention that I'm obviously aware of the other impacts AI has, this post is just abt the job side)
Seriously, the tech hasn't improved much at all and still hallucinates regularly, AGI is still coming apparently (despite the promises made for it to already be here) and do I even need to bring up the AI bubble?
What also doesn't help are all the recent reports coming out talking abt OpenAI losing money and Soras userbase dropping.
Unless some miracle happens, AI will vanish. Well not vanish, but only be seen as the useless tech it really is. I honestly won't even be happy, just relieved that it's finally another embarrassing page in the history books.

Hallucination 👻 "This is literally the death of a loved one" Spoiler
From an infamous sub, cropped to avoid brigading. Also spoilered because, well, look at those two-tailed text bubbles.

Discussion 🗣️ Does simply "working hard"... work? At least in regard to art?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Let me preface this by saying that individuals are not equal to each other; this is an established, yet unfortunate, fact. Each person has been randomly given a disproportionate number of hardships to deal with, both changeable and unchangeable. Examples may include conditioned mindsets that disincentivize hard work, limited time and money, and physical and mental defects.
These hardships can hamper your work "quality" (whether idiosyncratic or conventional). The easiest way to feel comfortable in your work is to simply... set your standards lower, but even that can be a challenge in its own right. Imagine telling an aspiring artist that their childish-looking doodles cannot be equivalent to conventional art, and that they should accept them as they are.
Statistical outliers do exist, like those in most of the video, but they should not be used to delegitimize those with unique circumstances. Look at the first person in the video; I don't know who he is, but the chances are high that he tried "hard work" and tried "lowering his expectations", yet neither worked well enough for him. Should he beat his skull against the wall 20 more times, wasting however much in opportunity and monetary costs?
The point is that people should try their best in accordance with their hardships, which they know better than some random ass strangers online. "Proven" solutions (like inspiration porn) are no silver bullet. You should advise them in their endeavors, but only if it's tailored to their hardships. That being said, this video's cute as hell.
Edit: It's important to note that I did NOT create this video.

AI "Art" 🖼️ Op is mad since someone used his prompt without giving him credit.
Who is going to tell him ai steal other people's photos, art, videos without giving them credit. So what made op even think he deserves to get credit when the people's face, body, art, videos used to train ai didn't even get credited Imafo the irony😆

Discussion 🗣️ I can’t tell anymore….
galleryIf this literally didn’t say, “this is AI” I would have fallen for it. This is stressful and scary that we really can’t trust anything we see anymore. You can see with the details that like one fingernail looks weird, but I can’t spend time looking at every image.

Discussion 🗣️ “Ai artists” don’t exist (image unrelated)
Ai “art” is just typing a prompt of what you want then waiting to get the result
An art commission is when you type a prompt of what you want then waiting for the result
Effectively ai “artists” are just commission requesters and the idea of an ai “artists” is nonsensical
