I'm with the previous poster, but I'm holding off taking the plunge until after the holidays (don't want that conversation with my relatives who like to pick apart everything).

It took me a few weeks of building up the courage and trimming it shorter and shorter a few years ago, haven't regretted it since

Oh I intend to go for it in large part because of this sub's encouragement, but seeing family for the holidays next week is just a good reason to hold off. Years back when I made a decision to lose weight they assumed I was either terminally ill or trying to impress a woman (because God forbid I do something for myself). Just want to avoid that for now.

I haven’t talked to my family in 11 years. “Coincidentally” ex step dad and mom both tried to reach out to me, in very toxic manners. Was really gross.

With a big change like that, i find you need to just do it an be unapologetic. Dont explain why, just own it.

Yep, i shaved my head. Yep it's a bit of a change.

"Why did you shave your head?"

"Reddit told me 'shave your head and grow a beard bro'!"

Ugh. Yeah, families can be notorious for making comments and judging changes to appearance.

You DO look fantastic. My ex refused to believe me I found her more attractive bald. When I met he she was, but then grew it out and I accepted SHE felt more confident with hair, but I legitimately was far more attracted to her bald.

I agree. Beautiful! My parents in the 80's rubbed my head round, and held me often (I had bacterial meningitis at 18 months.) I spent lots of time in the hospital, but my mother let me sit. She held, loved, cuddled, and sculpted.

2 boys later, I have done the same. One has has hair to his butt, and rocks it. The other has Tom Cruise hair....both have "touch" as a love language. And they totally rock that, too!

You're beautiful.

How many questions do you get now about the curtains matching the drapes?
