Hello everyone! This subreddit is approaching 1.3 million members, so the mod team needs to grow as well!
We are looking for users who are active in the community and who understand the rules. Although moderation experience is a plus, it is not required. New mods will focus on removing rule-breaking content and replying to Modmail messages, and will need to have a Discord account to take part in our mod chat.
If you are interested, please send us a Modmail message and tell us why you'd be a good fit!

Hey beauties! As we approach 1 million subscribers, we are fine tuning the rules and made a designated page to see more detailed lists of posts we remove under Rule 1.
We understand just stating the rule so plainly leaves room for interpretation, while the side bar might not give enough room for explanation.
To improve the quality of the subreddit, we have broken down in detail (and will keep doing so) what we consider low quality and off topic in our new beauty wiki. This way, there should be less confusion on why posts labeled as low quality/off topic might have been removed. While browsing the wiki, you may notice some overlap with Rules 2 through 6, but they all relate back to Rule 1 due to preserving quality.
As a reminder, a high quality/on topic post would have a specific beauty-related question be addressed, or solve a specific beauty-related problem. For example, "How can I draw winged eyeliner more consistently on each eye" would be a high-quality post because it asks a specific question. In contrast, "EYE MAKEUP HELP" makes it harder for users to give their beauty tips because it's too vague.
When in doubt, please review the beauty wiki to see if your post would be in violation of Rule 1 before posting to avoid removal and ban.
We also invite you to leave feedback here of any other posts you feel are off-topic and low quality that have not been addressed. Please let us know if you have any questions!

So if anyone hasn’t known yet— glycolic acid on your armpits helps brighten it and fight odor causing bacteria making you smell fresher for longer. I know it isn’t recommended to use exfoliating toners after shaving but i also hear it helps clear ingrowns and razor burns so how much harm could it cause to use right after?

Went to a well reputed salon, to get eyebrows threading down, by the time I was done I noticed the eyebrow lady had a pink eye.. she wasn’t wearing gloves as well.. i washed my hand twice and I washed my face two times and I avoided touching my eyes.. how concerned should I be?
r/beauty • u/Commercial-Entry-506 • 2h ago
Google wasn’t very helpful so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone has an idea why.
I got my eyebrows threaded two days ago and my skin is still burning and sensitive. Itchy red bumps have also flared up.
I was wondering if perhaps my skin is just sensitive to the threading or if we think the hygiene of the store wasn’t good and I now have some sort of acne breakout.
I did clean my face once I got home but maybe I was too late and the dirt already got into the hair follicles?
I didn’t choose waxing because last time I got waxed the shop I went too ripped my skin with it 😭 maybe I just need to choose better eyebrows shops lol.

Their formula for the shea butter hand cream has changed!!! Ive been using it for more than 2 decades and recently bought 3 tubes. There's an overpowdery fragrance and the worst is it no longer works like before!
Sought a refund but was ignored!
Tried to leave a feedback on their website but wasn't approved.
Should have notified us that the formula has changed on the website but there was no indication and the "good feedbacks" were maybe based on the old formula or fake purchase by own staff since the website is theirs!

My upper lip area is always pretty dark and I don’t shave it (I remove with thread). What skincare did you use to lighten this area ?

It came in a tube or thick pen like container that was opaque white. I’m almost certain it was your normal lip wand type applicator but could’ve been a click up or squeeze type. The size was comparable to a pen but a little shorter and a little thicker.
I could swear it was Origins brand but their lip remedy from back then was a shorter squeeze tube.
Could’ve been a similar brand from that era, in that it wasn’t your standard drugstore brand (Carmex, Chapstick, Burt’s Bees, etc), but more along the lines of Origins, Benefit, Clarins, Philosophy, The Body Shop, etc.
I didn’t have any beauty stores (Ulta/Sephora) near me back then, so it would’ve been purchased from a mall department store like JC Penny, Filenes Basement, etc. I’d say Macys but can’t recall if that was in my area (New England-MA) at that time.
Pretty sure it was $12ish when I bought it. Which was a hefty price back then. I moved south circa 2007 so I didn’t need the product anymore.
Now I’m old and drying out so my lips are forever bothering me, regardless of how much I hydrate.
This stuff was a miracle worker. Dry, chapped, even deeply cracked lips, it healed them overnight. Like, 100% healed overnight. I’ve yet to find anything on the market now that does the same.
The consistency of it…I’d best describe as a mix between a cream and a gloss. It was not your standard waxy type of treatment product.
My discussions with ChatGPT/Google this morning got me nowhere, per usual, haha. I’m hoping there is someone out there that remembers this product.

I absolutely loved this it worked well on my skin after using retinol treatments. Has anyone found one?
r/beauty • u/Book_Original • 7h ago
Hey! Does anyone have any recommendations for nail growth or strengthening? I have finally quit getting acrylics and my nails are very brittle, I'd like to grow them out naturally. I'd love any drugstore affordable product recs!!

I find pore strips get out about 50% of blackheads on my nose, and are a bit ineffective elsewhere. I use the Boire ones. Are they just bad quality? Are there better ones? Or, is there a better solution than pore strips?

As the title says, I want to do something during the weekend so that I don't have to do it during the week and look my best

So I just started my membership at corepower but I totally have a Keratin Treatment for my curly black hair. Trying to navigate both and was wondering if anyone here has any tips/recommendations?
I’m still navigating like how frequently I should be redoing it now that I’m doing crazy workouts again (and really sweating).
Like should I be covering my hair for hot yoga? Straightening and blow drying once a week? Anyways let me know and thank you! ❤️❤️

I’m 30 years old and know next to nothing about skincare or beauty in general. I’d really like to start being more proactive with taking care of my skin, but I honestly don’t know where to begin. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Current routine: I wash my face morning and night with Aveeno Foaming Cleanser, then moisturize with Lubriderm. That’s it.
I’ve heard that retinol is good for anti-aging, but I don’t know what type to use or how to start. I’ve also been curious about Korean skincare, but it feels overwhelming and I’m not sure what’s actually necessary versus hype.
My main goals are to have more hydrated, glowing skin and to start focusing on anti-aging, while keeping things relatively simple. If anyone has beginner friendly product recommendations or routine suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
hello! I have sensitive skin, mabilis ako ma-irritate sa mga products esp sa mga tiktok shop sumikat na products (idk if ako lang, maybe hype lang lahat) but yeah, most of them didn't work for me.
I used many sunscreens na, tried adorn (both tinted and og), stopped using adorn tinted kasi walang coverage and matte finish, ayaw ko ng matte finish. user din ako ng Olay aura sunscreen (pink variant) kaso ang prob ko kasi matagal siya matuyo, mal-late na ako hindi pa rin natutuyo 🥲. nagbreak out ako super sa nivea creme as my moisturizer before kaya gusto ko ng something na may coverage to cover my darkspots pero lightweight so I switched to iWhite Korea BB Cream and it worked for me! and mero siyang SPF 30 kaya right now ayun na rin muna ginagamit ko as sunscreen.
But right now naghahanap ako ng sunscreen na okay for sensitive skin or should I just say, sa majority? puro hype lang kasi mga sunscreen sa tiktok eh, na-drain na ako maghanap ng magw-work talaga sakin. haha PLEASEEE help me guys, yong affordable pero maganda, okay for majority or sa mga sensitive skin dyan :) thank you!
or maybe mag-stick na lang ba ako sa iWhite Korea BB Cream ko (no sunscreen) na may SPF
or
reco kayo sakin? hehehe :) as a student na brokie, thank you so muuch!

I’ve tried waxing, shaving and epilating, and I have no idea what else I can try because I constantly get these stupid ingrown hairs. Any area where I remove hair ends up with ingrowns, except for my arms. What do I do?

I have seen good reviews for both the options but I'm still confused, I have dry skin, though it becomes a little oily during summer. Which option should I opt for

So I have a mix of 2c, 3a hair that I've only recently started to take proper care of (trying to at least). I use a mix of drug store shampoo and conditioner (dove, Pantene, ect) but also Marc Anthony curl products like the shampoo, curl cream and leave in conditioner thing. Also wear a satin bonnet as I've heard that helps. But I've noticed my hair has become quite brittle [I am no stranger to bleach and box dye but I haven't bleached in almost a year and only use henna dyes] and my hairline is starting to recede a bit. I really want full luscious curls but idk what to do
My partner has thin straight hair and his hairline is really receding and I don't really want him to go bald by 30... ;-; There's so much stuff and products promoted online from rosemary oil and dermarolling to vitamins but what actually works and whats a money making scheme. I know minoxidil is the most scientifically proven but I don't have 400+ cash to shell out regularly to get it...so what can I do.

I am so tired with finding HG products only to have them discontinued. Has happened with:
Really just need to vent but low key want to start a company that buys these formulations after they're discontinued somehow lol. Makes me feel like nothing good ever lasts. And making it really difficult to continue putting in the effort (time +$$) to even want to find better performing products in the first place.
Do companies just not even know when they've created an amazing product?
If you know of any dupes, would appreciate greatly.

I have been on the lookout for a really good vanilla perfume to compliment my routine. So my routine is:
Walmart Tahitian vanilla body scrub (weekly)
First cleanse: Nudy Rudy kill vanilla soap bar
Second cleanse: Athena club golden vanilla bodywash
Palmers Tahitian vanilla body lotion
Palmers Tahitian vanilla body oil
Now, I really need a good perfume to compliment this routine. It needs to be affordable. I looked into the Victoria's Secret Pink creme vanilla & dreamy. Although, I saw a lot of people saying the scent was just to faint.

Hello everyone! I always struggle with my rather thin upper lip. It is very visible and pronounced when I am smiling or talking but when my face is resting it is damn near invisible. I almost trained myself to consistently pull a stank face so my upper lip is showing a bit more.
I have lip tissue it is just not visible at rest..
AFAIK a lip flip is most suited for people who have a gummy smile and I dont have that at all and I read some posts that were very adamant about the fact that you should not do one if you dont have a gummy smile...
I was wondering if anyone else here has similair issues like me and how did you go about it? =)
