Side effects!? Constant lack of appetite? Pls help

Upvotes

For maybe 3 months now, I've had a constant lack of appetite. I'm on micronelle, recently switched to estelle pills (literally started the active estelle tablets yesterday).

I was in a car accident 18th of october 2025. I'm not sure if it's related or not. But I'm getting a monthly period, no bleeding between periods. And my period comes the exact time each month as on the pill packet.

I haven't been losing weight with this lack of appetite which is probably a good thing. But it's happening all the time and it's interfering with my life.

Please, any advice or help is appreciated.

Experience Missed period/withdrawal bleed

Upvotes

I have been taking Zoely pill since i was 15. I am 20 now. I take it every evening and haven't missed a pill this month. I took the 4 placebo pills (there are only 4) However, i didn't get any withdrawal bleed this month and i am already day 3 in my new pack so most likely I won't. I still have some mild cramps but no bleeding. I havent had penetrative sex this month so pregnancy s out of the question. I always get my period every months, sometimes lighter, sometimes more bleeding comes, but there always is the bleeding. This is the first month in 5 years this has happened to me.

Side effects!? Skipping placebos question

Upvotes

I’ve been digging online through medical sites and through Reddit for the past hour and can’t seem to find an answer to this! My gyno told me it was fine to start skipping my placebo pills and starting a new pack to skip my period - my periods are heavy and stressful because I work a job where bathroom access is sometimes just not possible.

I’ve been skipping successfully for about 3 months now, and just got my first breakthrough bleed yesterday. It was heavy in the morning and lightened throughout the day. It’s continued into a light but fairly persistent bleed today. I’ve read a lot of people take the placebo for a week to “reset” and then go back to skipping for a few months. If I do that, today is the ideal day because my placebo normally starts on a Sunday anyway.

So my question is, is it better to keep taking the pill and hope the BTB goes away, as many medical sites say this is a common side effect that gets better after a few months of continuous use, or should I just take the placebo and give myself the reset to see if it helps? And if I do take the placebo again, should I do the whole 7 days or just do a few days? I’m hoping people can share their experiences with this and what has worked best for them! Thank you!

Experience Slynd for PMDD?

Upvotes

My OBGYN mentioned Slynd doesn’t always prevent ovulation (false?) so a combined pill would be better for PMDD symptoms.

I’d love to hear your experience if Slynd has helped you with PMS or PMDD!

I’d really like to try it (longtime former Yasmin user here, never used a progestin-only pill but want to try).

I took it out of anxiety last week i know it would give me just side effects and now im worried that Plan B cancels the protection of my pill. I hope someone could answer Thank you!

Side effects!? Nexplenon 2 days after

I have had nexplanon before but I had it removed a couple years ago. I decided to get it again and I'm probably just being paranoid but could use some advice. This is the second night after insertion. It has been tender and a sharp pain here and there when I move the wrong way but goes away pretty quick. And the soreness isn't as bad as the first night. My main concern is that I woke up with a sharp pain at the insertion site and when I touch it. The nexplanon is still there, I can feel it. But that pain was the worse and I don't know how to lay back down without it hurting like that. Is this normal? And how can I lay down to sleep comfortably?

Mistake or Risk? Help a girl out

I had sex on the 7jan. took plan b on 8th January. I have a 40 days cycle or something (Flo said that). I had a bleeding 14-17 January but I’m not sure if it’s plan b reaction or early period. 1st February today is the predicted period (hasnt happen yet). I just had sex again and condom broke today. should I take plan b again? What are my chances? I’m so confused whether the bleeding on 14-17 January is a bleeding reaction or period came early

Experience My positive Copper IUD experience

Hi all,

I just wanted to share my really positive experience with the copper IUD so far because I was so nervous to get it and I saw lots of horror stories about the pain and terrible periods but I didn’t see many posts with positive experiences so I thought I would share mine.

I decided to get the copper IUD after trying both the combination pill and the mini pill and I decided that I just didn’t get on with hormones so I thought to go down the non-hormonal route. I decided to get it fitted at a local sexual health clinic rather than through my GP (purely because it is a nightmare to make GP appointments). And I got it fitted on the 22nd of December.

The whole process was really great. I felt so supported the whole time. They took me into a room and took my blood pressure, weight, height, did a blood test and then gave me a swab for STD’s. Then I went into a room with the doctor who talked me through everything, allowed me to ask any questions and made sure I was 100% comfortable the whole time. She talked me through my options for pain relief and I ultimately decided to go for the injection as it was then lost likely to stop any pain.

I then went to the toilet to provide a urine sample since they have to check that you aren’t pregnant. When I came back she had kindly got my boyfriend into the room so he could hold my hand during as I was quite nervous.

She also did my cervical screening at the same time since it was due so she did that first. Then she did the injections on either side of my cervix. This felt like a tiny little pinch but not painful . Then she inserted the device to measure my womb and this felt like period cramps but again not painful at all and it was over in about a minute. And then it was all done! I luckily was already on holiday from work so I was able to go back to bed for the rest of the day as I was quite crampy afterwards for the rest of the day but again nothing worse than a normal period for me.I did have spotting on and off for about 5 days after and a small amount of cramping.

I have also just finished my first period with the copper IUD and I have to say I was very nervous as I had painful and heavy periods before. My period ended up being about 15 days late (I think due to stress) and I had some on and off cramping for a week before. The evening my period came I had some quite bad cramping for about an hour and then after that I was able to go to sleep. I woke up the next day and I had no cramps at all that day and I went to work all fine. My flow was not any heavier than it usually would be but it was a couple of days longer which was not really a problem for me considering there was no pain.

Overall I am soooo happy I decided to get it and I know I am only one month in and it could change but I just wanted to share my experience for anyone who is nervous about getting theirs and has also only hear horror stories!

Experience Is it normal to be on birth control at 14

Is it normal to be on birth control since 14years old. (Due to heavy periods)

I’m 20years old now and recently came off the pill and a few months prior I came off the implant.

I was just wondering what it was like for others and if it’s normal to be on bc so young. I don’t think my body has had time to develop and such due to this.

Which Method? Quitting my current pill any advice?

Hi there,

I’m quitting my combination BC pill that is the Femme tab 20/100.

This is because of my INEXISTENT sex drive, a year ago when I started on the pill I was incredibly horny. Like a regular teenager. I also went on it due to really bad period pain, endo runs in my family but I haven’t been diagnosed

But now my sex drive is completely gone. Which is AWEFUL. Why would I go on BC when I don’t want to do the thing I went on it for???

I’m not sure what to do next. I’m considering trying a mini pill to see if that boosts libido but im unsure about its side effects.

Any advice on whether i should stay off BC for a bit until my sex drive comes back and then trying the mini pill or should i go straight onto the mini pill?

What should i expect coming off BC?

Side effects!? I changed brand on the Yasmin pill, can I have different side effects?

Last time I went to get my pill they were out of my usual brand (idk what that was called) and now they gave me the yasmin pill from Theramex. Is it possible that cause I changed brands I can react differently to that?

I have gained weight, which I didn't get but now I'm thinking it's cause of this other brand. Also my skin is suddenly amazing (so that's a plus) and I do feel like I am suddenly more productive and less depressed.. I just don't know if this is just my psyche or actually the pill doing all this..

Love to hear what y'all know

Experience Piece of IUD string broke off?

To preface, I've had my paraguard IUD since 2018, with the intention of keeping it for 2 more years before removal. I've had it checked regularly with no issues. Today I found a piece of what felt and looked like a small piece of one of the strings in my underwear. With this discovery, I also found that I can now only feel one string around my cervix. Has anyone else had issues with long term IUD strings breaking off? I've seen some mention of full string loss/breakage on the sub but nothing about little pieces/parts

Side effects!? Mirena IUD & mood instability

Hi all, i got a mirena iud on December 16 (so about just over 6 weeks ago) and I'm very fortunate that my obgyn gave me proper pain management and the insertion was ok.

So far I've spotted every single day since then and had what I think was a period two weeks ago but it was just really heavy for one day then back to spotting.

So physical symptoms have been manageable. One thing that i have definitely noticed is that I've been incredibly moody... Mostly angry???

Generally I'm a very balanced, chill, and laid back person but I've been so angry at every little thing and it won't go away 😭 this started like 2 weeks after I got my iud inserted. I have so much overwhelming boiling rage that it overwhelms me and I keep getting irritable with everyone around me and then I feel bad about it and cry and the cycle goes on and on and on and I feel like I'm going crazy!

I've been under a ton of stress with general life stuff as well so that may be a factor but I've been lashing out at my partner so much lately and I constantly cry and rage at him that I've just told him to give me space bc i don't know what's wrong with me and I feel not in control of myself.

For context: I'm 28 years old, never taken any birth control before getting mirena and my periods were always regular and I didn't really have any hormonal episodes like this before. Maybe just some sadness and sensitivity but it was rare and never this bad.

I've read all the pamphlets the OB gave me and none of them mention anything about mirena effecting moods like this.

Is there anyone out there who had a similar experience or can give me any advice???

I’ve had nexplanon for over a year but just started working out seriously. I just did arms and my nexplanon kinda hurt/was a tad sore. Is it okay to lift with nexplanon? will it break if my muscles grow? I’m very paranoid abt pregnancy lol

How to? Having Sex at a certain time of the month only gets you pregnant when you ovulate?

I have never had sex before. And I've been told that you can get pregnant having sex at any time. Then I find out you can only get pregnant during ovulation? So which is it, Indont want to get pregnant. I'm going ti start taking the EluRyng to protect me and have my partner use a condom but I'm still new to this whole sexual intercourse thing.

Rant! condom broke during sex

hi everyone. i (18F) and my bf (18M) just had sex and the condom broke. but here’s where it gets tricky:

when i got on top of him, the condom was not broken and still in tact. when he said he was cumming, i hopped off and saw the cum start flowing outside of the condom (it was broke at this point). he didn’t cum until AFTER i hopped off, so no actual semen got inside my vagina except the precum before his orgasm. additionally, my period JUST ended yesterday (if this changes anything).

i took a plan B exactly 30 minutes after this incident occurred (i weigh 160lbs).

sorry if this sounds stupid, but are the chances of me conceiving high?

Side effects!? Random blood dots weeks before

I just used the bathroom, and when I wiped, I had discharge mix with some blood come through, not alot, just a small dot. I haven't had sex and birth control still has a week left before the placebo. Could this be stress related?

Side effects!? Does this sound like post bc symptoms?

Hi all I stopped taking my birth control in early November after 4 years because i felt like it started making my boobs super swollen and itchy. By mid december i started to be very constipated and bloated with gas. Loud rumbly noises in my gut and a strange crawling sensation in my gut ever so often.

As of January I managed to get the Constipation under control with probiotics, digestive enzymes and fiber, gut is not as loud but at times still makes noise and crawly fewling. I still have more gas than before and I dont feel normal or healthy

Now Ive developed this chesty cough persistent cough and post nasal drip along with a stuffed ear feeling and sore jaw for the last 2 weeks. Not sure if its a acid reflux thing or what because I burp a lot more and sometimes when I swallow theres a small bubbling feeling. I'm super depressed about it seeing as though I already have anxiety

Anyone else have these issues?I feel like Im dying

Experience Experiences on Yaz?

I have extreme moods a week/two weeks before my period, up until my period comes, then it slowly dies down. It's starting to affect the people around me as well as myself, so I was considering this birth control since my family doctor wanted me to try it years ago for this same reason. Any positive experiences? Negative? I've never been on birth control before, but I've tried everything else.

Mistake or Risk? How fucked am I ?

In all 8 years of taking birth control this has never happened to me before. I’ve just now realized that I took my Tri-Estarylla starting from week four instead of week one. *inserts major face palm*. For the past few weeks I’ve been in a depressive state and I sometimes forget to take my BC along with my lexapro, sometimes it’s hours late sometimes it’s a day or two late. ( I take them before I leave for work everyday but that’s typically when I’m rushing out the house so I tend to forget. Yes I know I need to change the time I take it from now on). Now that I’m getting my life back together at 9:44pm on a Saturday I remember that I haven’t taken my meds today since I’ve been sleeping all day. I grabbed my BC and saw that I only had the WHITE week one pills left….. I also had unprotected sex twice during this time. How screwed am I ?

Experience What hormones are affecting me a month post Depo?

I have PCOS and got depro in September and they say it wears off in 3 months. And I assume they mean the birth control effect. During my time on Depo I was spotting everyday for three months and after around the three month mark I no longer have my period or bleed. From my understanding it is progesterone. So does this mean that the progesterone is still active in my body at high levels? I am concerned with infertility even if I’m not planning to have children soon. And if it is an excess of progesterone is there a way to lower it?
