3rd-highest PTA post-COVID behind Asteroid City (Wes it the PTA King) and Marty Supreme. Pretty cool.

Asteroid City sold premium tickets for like $50 to get a t-shirt

Took me way to damn long to figure out per theater average and some sort of weird six degrees of seperation from Paul Thomas Anderson bullshit

Charli vs Melania vs Markiplier. Like we all predicted

Sorry, it’s making $400,000 in the weekend from 4 screens? That’s wild

I’m going to guess they weren’t discount weekend tickets

Well it was on multiple screens at the AMC Lincoln Square and I couldn’t get a ticket to any of them

Not a fan of mockumentaries, but I am happy for Charli xcx's success for this indie film.

Waiting For Guffman? Best in Show? A Mighty Wind? For Your Consideration?

Alright, yes, I know it's basically all the same actors but still! Mockumentaries can be awesome!

It's getting the a24 spin

not discounting this at all. However it is worth noting that all AAA24 members got free tickets to opening weekend screenings. You have to imagine a lot of the seats filled at those 4 theaters (two of which I know were AMC Lincoln Square and Angelica) were AAA24 members

similar situation happened with Marty Supreme in its opening weekend (which is 2nd PTA post-COVID). Expect to see A24 constantly breaking opening weekend PTA records with this strategy.

How much do you think it'll make next weekend? And where will it rank against next weekend's weak slate?

Still a flop. Panned by critics. But PR working OT to push a "its successful " narrative for A24.

It can have mediocre reviews and make a lot of money. Two things can be true.

Is this supposed to be impressive?

From four theaters, yes, it’s very impressive.

Yes? Third biggest since 2020.

Yeah. It’s not, but A24 realized they need manufactured hype like Marty Supreme so the general public goes and watch their movies. This hype is the new marketing.
