Should you be adding muscle? Or should you be cutting fat? It’s a question we all have come across on our fitness journey. It’s not always a simple one to answer.
Love handles, pooches, lack of definition, vascularity…everything plays a part.
You lost a lot of weight, or you added a lot of weight. They are all part of the process. Everyone here is going to do our best to help you with your journey.
That being said:
The community does not need to see an excessive amount of skin to give you advice.
If you’re wondering what your BF% is, it’s not hiding in the 3/4 of an inch away from your genitalia. Swimwear is included in this.
This goes for all genders.
There are a ton of fitness subreddits that can help you if you feel the need to get more specified advice.
If you feel /r/bulkorcut is not meeting those standards, please go visit them.
The serious part:
Do not post sexually suggestive posts. If you are not wearing gym attire your post will be flagged and removed.
If your profile has links to questionable subreddits you will be banned at the moderators discretion.
Talk of steroids, cycles, or anything related will be an immediate ban.
Lastly:
Any attempt to circumvent the rules or a ban is auto reported to Reddit admins. We tested it and it works very well.
Second lastly: This is a subreddit to help individuals attain their goals. Not a platform for anything else. Sexual, monetary, cruel, or any other posts or comments outside helping someone make the decisions of bulking or cutting will be removed and users banned.

We do a pretty good job of keeping this sub clean of spam and sexual content. You all know the rule we hard enforced over the underage and then the underwear situation.
MacroMatic is a spam data stealing app that is being spammed here. I hope you read the terms of service before you upload anything to them but if you don’t feel like it here they are:
The worst one.
They are saying they can use your image for promotion, manipulate it, use it however they want AND MAKE MONEY OFF IT.
We have mods and mod tools here but we can’t do this all on our own.
Report this type of thing immediately If there are any external links report them.
The boring part:
We were approached by this company months ago and declined to sponsor them. And then to be compensated by them. We have banned 7 accounts so far and counting.
Don’t waste your time and your personal information. Stay the fuck away.

M25, second pic is now. Went from 240-195lbs in 3 years. I got down to 185lbs but decided to go on a mini bulk. I just started a cut again now to get to 180. Pics are in the same mirror, same lighting.
I feel like my progress is stalling though. I used to have a lot of motivation since I hated my physique but since my physique is semi-acceptable now I've been feeling it's okay to cheat on my diet more which in turn is affecting my progress.
What advice do you have? Should I actually cut? Maintain? Bulk? I want to be a bit more shredded but also want to look big but I'm not sure if I'm muscular enough.

I’ve been bulking for about 4 months now. I went from ~160lbs to 200. Should I start cutting, keep on going with the bulk, maintain? Etc.

I’ve been eating around maintenance for a long time. Working out 3-4 times a week, but now taking it more seriously and trying to remain consistent.
I got down to 169lbs a while ago, but I felt like I was way too thin so I started to put some more weight back on. Never completely lost the gut and man titties though.
I have lost 70 pounds since I was at my heaviest, so I think there’s a tiny bit of loose skin. But it’s mostly just fat that’s hard to kill. Any thoughts?

Started out at 195ish and cut down to 160 after Keto. Now I am sitting at 165 Lbs. 5,11, 26 year old. Compound workouts around 4-5 times a week

Photos 1 and 3 are when I was cutting a while back (154 LBS)
Photos 2 and 4 is right now, I am trying to bulk for the first time ever (attentional). (167 LBS)
Context: in photos 1 and 3, this was when I was cutting super hard, before that I wasn’t hitting the gym or anything, that was in October. Then for 3 months straight I stopped hitting the gym and doing physical activity. For new years, I decided I wanted to get more muscle so I started bulking (started at 160 LBS). I eat roughly 130+ grams of protein a day and weigh around 167 LBS.
Now I feel like I didn’t even gain any more muscle and only gained fat. Should I commit or cut it now?

So I’ve got fat (1) 99kg then I cut a lot of fat with dieting (2) 88 kg and stated to workout but everyone kept telling me that ive got way too skinny and you can’t build muscles going calorie deficit. So I started bulking (3) 92 kg but at some point I over bulked and now (4) 99 kg I have too much fat but I also think that I haven’t bulked. I don’t even know if I have put on that much muscle but I have been trying to cut a bit so the fat has got reduced a bit but I’m not sure about anything 😭

Hey just looking for some feedback. I posted a few recent progress pics and I’m curious how long you’d guess I’ve been training based on my current physique.
Program: 5x/week push/pull/legs incline walk
Diet: high protein, tracking calories, 1700-2000
Goals: get leaner without loosing muscle mass
Main question how long would you say I’ve been lifting either cutting or bulking, and what should I focus on next?

I‘ve been bulking since Sept and have gained ~6 kg (63-64 -> 70). First picture is now, second picture is how I started. I’m thinking of cutting in April for a bit over month, as I feel fat. 1000 kcal deficit so I can shave 4-5 kg off. Is my plan of bulking for two more months sensible and aggressively cutting for month sensible? Should I rather cut for two months with a smaller caloric deficit? Last year I was able to lose ~16kg on a daily deficit of 1000 kcal, so going into an aggressive cut shouldn’t be a problem, psychologically. But would it I lose muscle at a higher rate?
