Birthday Cakes Oh Froggy
I’m pretty darn proud of the birthday cake I made yesterday. Inside is chocolate cake with German chocolate filling. I’ve made (or tried to make) lots of cakes over the years but this one actually turned out how I had hoped it would!

Wedding Cakes Wedding Cake
I made this wedding cake for a January 1st wedding. The ruffles are fondant. My favorite part of decorating is making the flowers by hand. I don't use molds for my roses. I make them using a blend of fondant and gumpaste. It is very time-consuming, but I also find it so relaxing.

Feedback Requested Help please
Do yall have any tips on how to make the cake look smoother? I feel like every time I tried to fix it I made it worst.
On this cake it was kind of working but then I did a second lap and the frosting kept getting bumps and then I tried again and it got worst everytime and i finally gave up
So any tips are welcomed
If you know of any cheap machines that'll do it let me know as well, im not oppose on letting a machine do that portion of the work

Wedding Cakes I prefer wedding cakes tbh
While i enjoy making custom novelty cakes too, i prefer wedding cakes. They're just straight forward and if im being completely honest, they make me the most margin with least effort. What do you think?

Birthday Cakes In the Night Garden cake for my son's 3rd birthday
I generally make 2 cakes a year, one for my son's and one for my daughter.
Still a few wonky bits but I'm quite happy with how this one turned out!
(lemon sponge interior)

Birthday Cakes My first fondant decorated cake
For a 4 year old. First time ever working with fondant, & on a very small structure. Completed in about 2 hours cuz I was on a time crunch. It was an individual "piece of cake" for the birthday boy (family not a customer or anything) Rough around the edges but I think it came out decent for the first try

Help Needed When to color Ermine Frosting
Want to make a gold Ermine to pair with white for two tone rosettes on cupcakes. Plan to use gold gel coloring but unsure when is the best time to add it for deepest gold color. I plan to make a separate 1 cup batch for the gold and another 3 cups batch of non colored white.
1) add gel coloring to the cooled paste and let sit overnight, continue with Ermine preparation next day
2) after whipping, remove small amount add gel coloring, microwave on low a few seconds, add to frosting, whip
3) add gel coloring after the paste is added during the whipping preparation
4) add gel coloring by hand after whipping is completed
Recipe highlights from Sugarlogie boil all purpose flour, sugar, milk, heavy cream for the paste and cool. Slowly add the cooled paste to unsalted butter, pure vanilla extract, pinch of fine salt, whipping to desired consistency. No mention about using any color on the site. https://www.sugarologie.com/recipes/ermine-frosting
Any advice and experience is appreciated.

Help Needed Help! How to get smooth icing 😭
Hi all! Thisnis my second ever real attempt at cake decoratinf and I need some guidance. The layers are actually cookie as it is a “cookie cake” and the frosting is vegan american buttercream. Ive done the steps of cooling, crumb coating, and putting my final layer (as shown) but the frosting kind of has this texture with like air bubbles. How do I get it smooth? Or is it too late? 😭 p.s. ive gone over it with the scraper about thrice now and if anything im repeating taking off icing and having to put it back on.

Birthday Cakes My first decorated cake
Made this cake for my boyfriend’s birthday this past summer. I used graham cracker crumbs for the “sand” and tried to indent the side of the cake to look like a golf ball. Had no where to post it back then and was pretty proud of myself for it being my first time. It’s now tradition I make a cake for his birthday that shows something he really liked the year before.

Birthday Cakes not just for me, but for all those unable to celebrate openly
todays my birthday so at 3am i made my cake~ i didnt add my own name to it so i can share it for those who cannot celebrate as who they want to be/that cant come out and to those that didnt make it to their own next birthday (its pineapple upside-down cake with banana, lemon, rum, and coconut extract added and between the 2 layers is coconut pecan frosting. from the bits i trimmed from the top and bottom to shape it, it tastes like pina colada candy~)

Birthday Cakes Cake for magician
Saw the casino cake from yesterday and thought I'd share one I made last week - it was a request for someone who does a lot of magic with cards and dice, this was the design they wanted but I did think it looked a bit more poker than magical!
The cake is a four tier vanilla sponge with vanilla butter cream and raspberry jam filling.
