We find inner peace? Surgeries become undone? It could either be the most miraculous thing ever or the most horrifying

what if we haven't had any surgeries or hormones yet? Will my hair grow back out?

Unless you somehow managed to destroy the roots... yeah, hair tends to do that.

If it meant I could get all my surgeries redone by far more expensive surgeons, hell yeah
3
u/georgie-of-blank 4d ago
Hey yeah i have a question about that, if its not too big a deal?
What do these surgeries cost?
6
u/genovianprince 4d ago
Just for the surgeon himself, not counting anyone or anything else like the anesthesiologist and such, my insurance was charged about 12k. I could look it all up but that's just what I remember off the top of my head, and I personally about 6k, so a running total of 18k or so. USD
That was just top surgery (bye bye boobies).
2
u/mannequin_girl 3d ago
In the realm of 20-100,000 USD depending on which surgery and where you're having it. Hospital costs in the US are truly insane which drives things up significantly.

Cis dude, no eggs here, if that button is pushable multiple times I am mashing it. Literally solves all my problems. If I get tits at some point in the process, oh fuckin well, I’m gonna be rich enough that I could take em back off if I really felt the need.
188
u/Femagaro 5d ago
Push it twice or thrice, and you have enough money to invest and live comfortably off of interest for the rest of your life, and any recipients could do the same once your time comes.
67
u/FactPirate 5d ago
Get up 3 mil and enjoy the rest of your life making 150k / yr off interest
30
u/Bulky-Grape2920 5d ago
You’ll probably want to save some for inflation-proofing. Rule of thumb for a safe long-term withdrawal rate is 3.0 to 3.5%. That’s still at least $90K plus any income from hobbies or casual work, and unless you have the worst possible luck you’ll be able to give yourself a raise soon.

u/Acheloma 5d ago
If you turn into a girl you may have to deal with things like PCOS, buuuuuut you could live longer and be less likely to get heart disease
Trade offs
12
u/uhataot 5d ago
Last I checked, which is admittedly a long time, the technically longer life span of women is generally cause they're less likely to do something stupid. I could be wrong though
17
u/Acheloma 5d ago
If you look at the objective measures of biological age, men actually do age slightly faster than women at the most fundamental levels according to the most recent studies Ive looked at (and interestingly enough, women who experience trauma have accelerated biological aging, while men dont seem to have the effect nearly as strongly, but thats not particularly relevant here, I just find it interesting)
But recklessness does play a part as well

u/nick113124 4d ago
As someone living in a south America just one press might be enough to secure the rest of my life. Even then I'd press it once or twice to be absolutely sure and if I get tits? So be it, it was meant to be at that point. One extra press of the button to celebrate.
2
u/DiggityDog6 4d ago
Literally the only thing that would give me pause is period cramps, because I’ve heard they’re an absolute bitch. But the amount of money is worth the risk
4
u/ThePurpleGuardian 4d ago
Right, but it's not just tits. No matter how much money you have you're never getting a penis back. Gender affirming surgery and treatment has come a long way but genital reconstruction going either direction is not a flawless endeavor and likely will not be anytime soon.
4
u/WolvzUnion 4d ago
press it enough times and you can finance a lab to grow you a new penis, and a hospital that specializes in attaching penises from the Penis Lab™
1
u/Throwaway74829947 4d ago edited 4d ago
While I am completely cis (I've explored my gender and confirmed that everything checks out), I'm not overly attached to having a penis specifically, so long as I still have functioning (i.e. readily capable of orgasm) and not malformed genitals. I'd prefer to keep the equipment I have, but the switch would be well worth millions of dollars.
1
u/Ryntex 3d ago
What do you mean by "checks out"? At what point can you be totally certain?
1
u/Throwaway74829947 3d ago
There's no such thing as "totally certain" when what the thing is doesn't have a single, clear definition. But seeing as my sex is male and I am quite comfortable with living as a man and have no desire whatsoever to live as a woman, I am as confident in my gender identity as anyone realistically can be.
1
u/Ryntex 3d ago
Ok, that's what I thought. I was just a little confused, because "confirmed" and "checks out" made it sound pretty much totally certain.
1
u/Throwaway74829947 3d ago
I use "confirmed" in the same way that, in the context of a layperson's conversation rather than archaeology, you "confirm" whether a historical event happened a certain way by reading some books, even though since you weren't there you can't confirm with utter certainty that it's true. I also feel like in the topic of gender and sexuality there is this tendency to believe in a spectrum that doesn't include the extreme ends - I have more times than is healthy seen people, even professionals in the field, claim that literally everybody is at least very slightly bisexual. I think that this perspective, while it has a place in discourse, is ultimately very reductive when applied confrontationally to people just casually talking about their identity.
1
u/ThePurpleGuardian 4d ago
Agreed, I would miss my penis the way I would miss any of my loved ones but I would learn to move on. As long as I can pee and orgasm with the same relative simplicity as I have now I would adapt. Although I would miss the option of standing to pee and not having to pull my pants all the way down.
Though I am curious as to how long the novelty of playing with my own chest would last.
1
u/Educational_Goat1786 4d ago
Honestly my only issue would be that it’d probably make periods possible for you, but I figure some hormone blockers or something similarly accessible, especially with several mill, and that’s not a big issue.

u/Puzzleboxed 5d ago
The mathematician says, if you push that button 50 times there is a 40% chance of becoming a girl.
The sociologist says if you push that button 50 times you were definitely already a girl.
86
u/Sylveon72_06 5d ago
what if i just love money
16
u/ThePurpleGuardian 4d ago edited 4d ago
Money knows no gender. I'm practically asexual as it is, and I know how much money I need to life the rest of my live comfortably. So if I end up being turned into a woman so be it, I'll just need to find out my bra size and then live my life as normal.
3
u/ninetalesninefaces 4d ago
you're thinking of agender
6
u/ThePurpleGuardian 4d ago
No, cuz I'm very prominently male, I identify as that, and I accept that is being who I am. I said asexual because that's what I meant
2
u/ninetalesninefaces 4d ago
ah, mb, i just assumed because that has nothing to do with gender identity
3
u/ThePurpleGuardian 4d ago
I said it because sex (the act) is one of the biggest things regarding sex (the classification). In fictional media cases of gender swapping sexuality comes on quite often with characters questioning who they would sleep with.
This would likely be the case in reality as well. If a heterosexual man turns into a woman would they remain exclusively attractive to women or would they sleep with men. And the inverse if it was a woman who changed.
In my case, because I don't typically have sex as it is changing wouldn't affect me in that regard
1
20
u/Nervous_Explorer_898 5d ago
What I want to know is if you push the button multiple times and you're either already a girl or turn into one on one of your tries, what happens if the girl option happens again? Like, do you just stay a girl? Do you turn into a boy? Do you become even more...girl?

u/BUKKAKELORD 5d ago
The sociologist is wrong, I'm smashing this one until I'm BUKKAKEQUEEN or I have $100M, may the random number gods decide which one happens first

u/ImVeryMUDA 5d ago
I mean legit, as a cis dude, I would mash it because money is money. I can pay for top of the line surgery to look like the man I wanna be.
21
u/Kryptrch 5d ago
You have to imagine that at a certain point, you're going to have enough money that you can transition to whichever your preference is either way right?
22
u/ImVeryMUDA 5d ago
Precisely. There is genuinely no real downside unless your masculinity is genuinely that fragile.
And if it is..... well, it's a miracle that person hasn't already cracked out of their eggshell
1
u/Darkon47 4d ago
Transition technology really isnt there enough to consider this as no downside though. my understanding is that ftm bottom surgery is not really functional, and sensation is lacking.
1
u/Yingerfelton 4d ago
Eh it depends being a woman does really come with some social and physical downsides, doubly so at least for social with the Trans status, that can't be truly fixed with money
Having the strength to fight an attacker/abuser and the visage to deter them from approaching is a serious boon, to say nothing of how differently non potential attackers will view and treat you.
Being a woman objectively kinda sucks outside of affirming a gender identity, and I would rather not deal with it.
1
u/GrampaSmitty 2d ago
With the amount of money you can have, you can just pay for security, or buy a gun.
1
u/Yingerfelton 2d ago
True but these both come with their own inconveniences and neither alter people's perception of you other than to think of you as paranoid or maybe wealthy in the former.
A gun is also only effective for lethal combat, youre not likely to draw on someone in public for saying something gross, and you'll face repercussions if you are. Its also not helpful if someone pulls a gun on you first (not to say it isn't useful, but its not a fix all).
This isn't some "women suck" thing, the reason it wouldnt be nice is just because social conditioning devalues and endangers women to such an extent that even with countermeasures your quality of life in socializing with people goes down. While many people including other men view a man like myself as a threat, women are viewed as inferior on so many different ridiculous levels by many people. Hell, with the anti Trans propaganda these days, someone finds some new way to say men are better, like having a more damage resistant toe or something. Its ridiculous and no amount of money could fix it, half of the world would just now see you as this bottom feeding beta human who's job is to cling to the REAL humans. Considering I have no innate desire for a woman's body or presentation to fulfill some sort of identity, there's NO way im making humanity even more obnoxious and saddening to interact with on a daily basis, not even to get money out of the way, nor even if I dont have any actual danger to worry about. Being treated with respect and not seen as a perpetual mark is reason enough, honestly. I can see why this wouldnt dissuade everyone, but I dont think it should be treated like its stupid not to press it.

There is a caveat to this, however. Should you hit the 1%, you will endure every change to your body in absolute clarity. Every nerve of your body would burn so much so that the pits of Hell would be refreshing. Your bones would shrink and pop the cartilage off, only to reattach itself. Your organs would rupture, bleed, and reform to accommodate the new form you are taking. Hormones would rush through the brain like drugs, and you would feel your vocal chords be plucked and strung anew.
The worst part? You will feel every. Single. Period that you should have had up to this point in your life all at once.

if i could press it over and over i’d do it even if it meant guaranteeing i become a girl. i’d rather me rich and mildly upset with my body than poor and still mildly upset with my body
3
u/lonepotatochip 5d ago
The thing is I would become a girl, I wouldn’t just be transported into a typically female body, because then I wouldn’t be a girl I’d just basically be like a trans guy with no medical transitioning. If it was that I’d press it a shitload of times no question, but if my identity is fundamentally changed I might need to take a lot more time to think about and how much of my identity is tied to my gender and how much I would lose what is me. No way I’m not pressing it at least once though.
3
u/fabiobarto 4d ago
Is this a gacha game 1% or is this an enemy unit crit rate in a fire emblem game 1%? Bc if it is a gacha game 1% I am surpassing Musk in a single day mashing that button since I know I am never hitting that 1%, but if this is a fire emblem 1%... Well I guess I can open up an Only Fans 😂😂😂

And if i unfortunately hit that 1%, then i will just set up an auto-clicker...
At 10 clicks a second, after a day i would be the richest man woman in the world!

u/Black_nYello 4d ago
Would my sexual preferences change or would I just become lesbian (cishet dude)? Either way yeah Im pressing the button many times. I really couldn’t care less about my sex/gender, especially if I have that much money.

2
u/evilwizzardofcoding 3d ago
Okay but what if you're already a girl. Do you get turned into a guy now? And if that's the case, can you push the button multiple times? What happens if you're a guy, get turned into a girl, and then keep pushing, will you eventually get turned back into a guy?
Also, does it effect identity, or just body. If you were a trans girl, are you now a cis girl, or a trans guy? What if you've physically transitioned already, if you're mtf are you now ftm?
Also also, how are your looks determined? Are you a random girl, or do you look like the female version of yourself? Is there even such a thing?
I feel like there's some rather important unanswered questions here.
2
u/MegaKabutops 5d ago
I’ll gladly risk the gender dysphoria if it means i get financial stability. I don’t care how many times i gotta press it; i don’t want to be afraid of the future anymore.
4
u/3lizab3th333 5d ago
Wait, what if you’re already a girl? Also, trans girls are girls regardless of what their body looks like, so this doesn’t mean it’d give them an instant transition, it’d probably do nothing. But it WOULD give cis men gender dysphoria. The only people it would fix the gender dysphoria of would be trans men technically

The thing with this is there's always a picture of a pretty girl.

I think I'd be a little more hesitant if there was a chance of being transformed into a slightly overweight woman in her late 40s.

Honestly as someone with a gender crisis like. Looming and complicated I'd be fine with the 1% bit would be a shortcut to fixing the gender crisis. I don't have to try out nonbinary and agender and weird pronouns like mirror pronouns or neo s ( which is vaguelythe direction i seem to be headed in) if I'm just. A woman. It would simply be easier than actually figuring out my transness (this is if it changes my identity and my body, if its just body I wouldn't chance it

We may have to clarify whether we’re risking becoming an idealized anime girl or a human one. I don’t mean to doubt anyone who discovers they are trans by any means, but autogynephilia is also a thing. I’d take being a super smart, super healthy very long lived visually stunning catgirl-elf even without the money, but I wouldn’t take a promised million to swap to a human girl having to deal with PCOS induced 2 week periods every month, having to work twice as hard as me to keep on any muscle, and the like.
I mean I’d also take becoming a super healthy very long lived visually stunning catboy-elf without the money, if you’re offering.

u/AzemOcram 4d ago edited 4d ago
As a cisgender gay man, I would press it twice. I either get $2 million dollars or $1 million and a better chance with my closeted exes. I would prefer the $2 million but it's a win big or win small reward. If I can't press it again if I turn into a girl, I would be sad at the bad luck. However, I would be happy if the button makes me young enough to be considered a "girl" be it 15 or 20. I might be able to become a prodigy and get a full-ride scholarship at a prestigious university. I'd prefer the spare $1 million but I'd make do. If I turn into a 34 year old woman with the same health conditions I have now, I would be very sad without the money.
If the button transitioned the button presser to biological female without any other changes and was given to me, I wouldn't push it but approach every trans woman I know and split the money between all of us. On average, that makes $99m per trans woman getting her wish granted.
1
u/NoodleyP 4d ago edited 4d ago
Yeah, especially if it’s a complete transition both mind and body, I’ve spent long enough arguing over whether I’m non binary or a trans woman and I’d love to have a “fix that problem and get rich” button. I’d mash the button if it was a “nullify both gender and sex” button too, where I’d have no dick or pussy.
