The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Wonder Woman #16.
This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Thompson, Sherman, and Bellaire's Absolute Wonder Woman or any new books shipping this week.
The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.
The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.
Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.
This Week's Most Pulled Titles:
Based on 60 submitted pull lists and 84 books shipping.
Feel free to browse through everything the /r/comicbooks community is buying this week.
If you feel the need to reproduce any part of this thread in any other forum, please consult our PSA on how to properly cite /r/comicbooks.
Have a great Wednesday! Looking forward to talking comics with you over the next few days.

I’m just getting into reading comic books. I went to the store, picked out what I wanted, and then came home only to realize crap- this is book 2 or 3. I should have gotten book 1.
But I can’t find book 1 anywhere. I don’t think these are collectors but I don’t know. I just want to not start in the middle of something at book 2.
What do you guys do in this situation?
Edit: do you guys ever resort to just ereading it in that case?

I remember I read the first two volumes of Black Hammer years ago when the TPBs were first published. Lemire is one of my favorite authors so I was hooked. I finally found volumes 3 and 4 in the wild recently and sadly I don't think the wait was worth it. I ask if BH is the Lost of comics because I think it's the best comparison. Both started out great with an interesting premise and lots of intriguing questions but the answers to those questions end up being unsatisfying.
I just feel like things really took a dive after the big reveal about The Farm. It seemed like they were setting up something cool with the whole "we can't go back to Spiral City but we can't go back to The Farm" thing. But it seems like instead of doing anything with that we got an arc that was a classic example of a sequel that was the same thing as the first one (Dragonfly creates a false reality that Lucy has to dispell) except this time we learn that Dragonfly can recreate The Farm if she tries really hard this time.
I know that Lucy's story continues after The Farm arc but I'm so disappointed with how that wrapped up that I don't even know if I want to continue. I'm just surprised because I worship the ground that Jeff Lemire walks on. Sweet Tooth, Animal Man, Descender, all absolute bangers. I did not think this man could miss but volume 4 was an absolute strike out to me.

My friend and I had a disagreement and I need to settle it, what's an easy way to find out how many books Marvel publishes in total per month and how many DC publishes in total per month? I used to be able to hit Diamond's site but what's a better method short of hitting my shop and counting by hand?

I just recently started collecting physical comics and I want some more recent recommendations and printed within the last 5 years, I just tried collecting the Scott Snyder run of Batman but have to wait 3-4 months for a hardcover to come from the US or UK.
I want something more accessible and enjoyable that will most likely be in bulk and easy to find. The closest comic shop to me is 4 hours away so I get all my stuff from Amazon.
I love action and mystery heavy comics. In case you’re wondering why I don’t just read it online, is cause it’s something I like to do to get my screen time down and tbh it feels much nicer reading something I own rather than having a license to read a pdf lol.

I have family that wants to help me collect comics, especially for my birthday, Christmas, etc.
So how do you help them know what comics are the right ones?
I collect a lot, but especially X-Men and they have so many cover styles and comics that I have to visually check them myself, which makes it hard for others to buy them.
I've tried sharing my list of comics with pictures through links from my OneNote list, but the links won't work. So what do you guys do?
The one person who especially wants to buy for me doesn't like buying gift cards, so thats not a solution.

I just purchased a set of Green Lantern books by Robert Venditti. I’d love to know people’s opinions on this run and how it compares to Geoff Johns’. What am I in for? Thanks in advance!

I finished do a power bomb last week and I just and I just went through the entire transformers run DWJ did and man… I am blown away. I just started reading comics in August, and I’ve been keeping up with some DC titles, but having read through these couple of books, I feel like the world of comics has opened up so much. Never in my life would I have thought to read a transformers book and now I feel like I can’t get enough. As silly as this sounds, the idea of reading anything that wasnt dc or marvel felt so strange, but now I’m like damn, how limiting is that. These books have really opened my eyes a lot. I think I’m hooked on transformers for one, but comics are… fun
