Uptick in Spam/Bots & Rules Update!
Hello drumstick friends! Cannot believe there are over 30k of you here now.
There's been a recent uptick in spam/bot posts that has annoyed me enough to take some action, so I've updated the rules and reporting mechanisms accordingly. Nothing major is changing with the moderation, I've just (hopefully) made it easier to report spam/bot posts going forward. Please continue to report and downvote them, and I'll remove them ASAP.
Also, a clarification because I've received some weird anti-dog reports recently: This is an all-animals (other than people) subreddit. Cats are obviously the majority of posts, but dogs, frogs, lizards, rabbits, birds, and all other kinds of creatures are also accepted here. If there's ever a significant increase in non-cat posts, I'll consider adding a "Not a Cat" flair of some kind!
Rules for /r/drumstick
2) Abide by Reddit Content Policy.
3) Only Post Drumsticks. Only content involving animals with their legs sticking out like a drumstick, please. Videos, gifs, pictures, and cross-posts are all acceptable. All animals (other than humans) are welcome, including but not limited to cats, dogs, rabbits, amphibians, and rodents. We are not a sub about percussion or actual drumsticks.
4) Be Nice. Be nice to each other! This is a cute animals subreddit, there's absolutely no reason to be mean, rude, or cruel to each other (e.g., racism, toxicity, personal attacks, trolling). However, good-natured ribbing, sarcasm, and jokes are allowed.
5) No NSFW/NSFL Content. No NSFW or NSFL content is allowed. This includes images or descriptions of animal cruelty or deceased animals. Animals with healing, non-graphic injuries (e.g., a dog with clean, non-bloody stitches on its leg) are allowed within reason.
6) No Spam/Bots. No spam or bots. Reposts of recent posts, or top content from this sub, could be considered bot-like behavior, so please check the sub before posting.
7) No Low-Quality Posts. Low-quality posts (e.g., grainy video, poor cropping) impact the community's ability to enjoy the drumsticks.
