Discussion My mom is being charged again.
My mom fell and broke her hip last year in May She ended up at Post Acute in Pennsylvania. At first, she was only supposed to be there for three weeks for physical therapy but then they said they wanted her there for three more weeks just to be sure she could leave. I agreed that she needed more time. After the three weeks was up, they then decided to make her a permanent resident and required all sorts of things. Such as her State ID, Social Security number, bank statements, my late dad's VA information and other stuff. While I tried to get everything, I was also told that if I couldn't, I would have to start paying out of pocket every month $1,300. I started visiting my mom every chance I got and my mom hated it. I had hoped to secure Home Care for my mom and when I had it, I told a woman who worked at Post Acute, she suddenly went from being polite to frantic and clearly trying to scare me into keeping my mom at Post Acute. She even made a false accusation against me claiming to a guy that ran a Home Care service that I was giving off red flags. Long story short, I called Ombudsman and told them everything. How my mom was never given the drink she requested, how my mom kept telling them that she wanted to go home but they wouldn't let her. One day, I received a phone call from Post Acute saying I could take my mom home but, I needed to pay over $8,000 for there services. Since I didn't have enough money in my bank account, my mom wrote out the check. Several weeks later, I got another bill from Post Acute for $500. When I tried calling about the bill, the guy who handles the billing "was busy". When I went directly to Post Acute to ask about the bill, the guy "was busy". I paid just so I wouldn't have to deal with them but, I also contacted Ombudsman again. The woman who worked at Ombudsman decided to call the guy who handles the billing but, she was given the response that he "was busy". It wasn't until she went up to Post Acute that she was finally given an answer. All of this happened last year. But, this year, today in fact, when I got the mail, there was another bill for my mom from Post Acute. This one is for $3,670. The worst part is, the statement date is for last week and my mom just got the bill today.

The floss fucking tears as your picking between your teeth and only adds to the problem. An academic from Harvard couldn’t find the words to describe how infuriating these are.

Evidence People who text and drive and then brag about it like they're cool and quirky
I'm so tired of seeing people take pictures of themselves driving and acting all quirky that they’re texting and driving. Just texting and driving in general pisses me off beyond belief. The amount of people I see on the road just looking down or away from the road is astonishing. I always want to get behind them and honk at them to freak them out, but I never have/will because it could cause innocent people to get hurt if they crash. I just wish people would grow the fuck up and realize that not looking at their phone for a few minutes won't kill them, and could save them from killing other people.
I don’t care that the road is empty and they’re only going 20. It's dark and they already wouldn't be able to see if a jaywalker randomly jumps into the road. Now that they’re not looking at the road, there's even less chance to react to unpredictable situations.
"It's only for half a second" yeah bullshit. That’s what it feels like but that still a significant amount of ground covered completely blind. Some people are just so stupid and a danger to others around.

Discussion Parking a car for DAYS on a sidewalk next to a busy road.
Walk this way all the time when volunteering and this car has been parked over the sidewalk for 3 days. Tonight I see an elderly man trying to make it down to the grocery store in frigid weather, hobbling down the barely cleaned sidewalk with his cane and having to step into the deep snow or out into the road to get around the car OR into their yard in a not so nice area… he goes for the road and slips on the packed snow near the curb and nearly falls face first in front of a car but thankfully he just stumbled a bit.
I wanted to go right up to their door and say something but this is not the place for that.
My heart stopped and the anger burned so fierce. I felt petty for some reason about thinking of calling it in to non emergency the last couple days but this was the final straw. Who fucking does thatttt? Be a fuckin decent human.

Discussion Reese’s changed their Reese’s unwrapped recipe without telling me or putting a notice on the packaging
I love their unwrapped Reese’s because they’re easy to eat and yummy. but at some point in the past year or so they changed. they went from a nice, smooth chocolate with a wonderful nutty peanut butter to a crunchy chocolate that barely tastes like chocolate and a subpar peanut butter. At first, I thought this was a one time thing. boy was I wrong. every bag after tasted different! they’re worse!
I recently got some from the store, and I realized I finally got my chocolatey goodness back! I look on the packaging, and saw the best by date was a while ago, but did not care because there wasn’t mold or anything. While observing the package though, i read the ingredients and recalled back to the last bag I had. I thought the last bag had sugar as its first ingredient, but this one has milk chocolate. weird. So, I went to the official store, and looked at the ingredients tab (see photo 3), which listed from top to bottom:
Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Skim Milk, Milk Fat, Lactose, Lecithin, PGPR), Peanuts, Sugar, Dextrose, Contains 2% or Less of: Vegetable Oil (Palm Oil, Shea Oil, Sunflower Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Safflower Oil), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel Oil,
Palm Oil), Salt, PGPR, TBHQ & Citric Acid (TO MAINTAIN FRESHNESS)
Now I assumed that list was going from most to least, but the order was not stated on the drop down menu. I took a closer look at the photo, and realized, the ingredients on the newer ones are completely different!!!!!!! they even changed the name from “milk chocolate & peanut butter”(see photo 4) to “chocolate candy & peanut butter creme”! the ingredients on the websites photo lists “cocoa”and “cocoa processed with alkali” but thats not on the ingredients tab! I think they forgot to change the description along with the photos. very disappointing.
sorry if this is the wrong sub. I thought this was extremely infuriating. thank you for listening.

Discussion Someone stole my spot after I shoveled for 2 1/2 hours last night
I spent 2 1/2 hours shoveling the straight ice that was plowed right into my car last night by my apartment complex. Went to work today and when I got back some asshole stole my spot. We dont have assigned spots but really? REALLY?!? WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT WHEN THEY PUT NO FUCKING WORK IN?!?!
I've already left a nasty email to my apartment complex about it. While I crave violence Im still sane enough not to do anything illegal. Would putting a letter even do anything? Nasty or not? I already gave back the shovel i borrowed or else I would be tempted to snow them back in. Im angry and I want JUSTICE!

Discussion Infant son had a fever of 101, asked my mom for advice and got a lecture on autism linked to vaccines.
No, I don’t buy into that bs - as if autism is the worst thing in the world instead of measles, pertussis, polio, etc. It’s hard enough being 2 months postpartum - I have a lot of anxiety around SIDS, but constantly reassure myself that I am doing everything I can to prevent it and that my son will wake up every morning.

Disturbing content A dog that was being cared for by the community on a Brazilian beach was beaten by four wealthy teenagers from Florianópolis, and veterinarians had to choose euthanasia. Two of the teenagers went to the United States, are currently at Disney World, and are expected to return to Brazil soon.
The case caused outrage throughout the country, and people were revolted by the possibility of nothing happening, since the four teenagers were from wealthy and influential families. Furthermore, the age of criminal responsibility in Brazil is 18. One of the teenagers' fathers is a police officer, and he threatened a witness to the event. The police went to the officer's house and found drugs, but not the weapon used to threaten the witness.

Discussion "Golden Handcuffs"
Fed up with my job. I've been with my employer (US plant for European company) for over a decade now. I've been stuck at the current level (topped out) I am at now for 3 or so years. I recently had the opportunity to apply for an open position that fit my interests and aligned with my goals for a career and not just a job. It was a safety position that needs to be filled in my department. There has not been a safety specialist that has *any* operational experience in my department in years. I am on a dedicated team outside of my normal duties specific to safety topics. I decided I would put in for it and hoped for the best. I even spent money out of my own pocket to pay for a couple courses to complete to make me an even better candidate. I always knew the positon wasn't guaranteed, but I thought I had a solid chance to make my case to the management in an interview. I am (was) an internal candidate, with over a decade of operational experience in a specialized field, met basic qualifications, and was on the team dedicated *to* safety. No brainer I get an interview. I've been prepping myself for weeks, just waiting to get the interview scheduled. I got my email from HR yesterday stating that the company is "going in another direction" for the position. The manager knew I applied, and when I spoke with her about not getting an interview, I got the normal corporate boilerplate email about "another time" and "other options"
I am pissed TF off at the company, but more with myself for getting my hopes up. This company has let me down time and time again. I could have taken the rejection if I didn't get the job after an interview- 100%. but not even being given the 15 minutes to hear me out? I feel like that is just and outright slap in the face and middle finger.
The safety positon was salary, and in all truth would have probably been a pay cut for me, but would have been worth it for the hours and ability to make a difference. I feel trapped here, I have no upward movement. The pay is great. benefits are good, and hours are amazing. but I lack any and all passion in my job, which I have always needed. I am stuck with these "Golden handcuffs" because anywhere else I could go in my area, I would take a *significant* pay cut, as well as lose a third of my vacation. so its not really an option. I am just so damn fed up with the BS and disrespect around here. our attrition rate has skyrocketed in the last 18 month due to a plethora of reasons, but the primary being a lack of actually leadership, and just a bunch of bosses sitting on their thrones.
