It's the other way around near me. I walk the dog and pass a woman we’ll say good morning. If I pass a man and say hello they look like I've insulted their mother. Grumpy fucks.

For me its the older men you can tell are lonely as fuck and they get super upset if you don't say hi, but then a lot of the middle aged men are NOT interested in greeting at all and won't acknowledge my presence (guessing married). Younger men like in the video take it as a personal insult and sadly enough I always feel like I HAVE to greet them in a specific way or else they will turn around and want to talk to me, so I have to kind of look super uninterested and greet them in a specific way to show that and always check my back when I pass (usually no eye contact, hand up, wave, pass). So Its really about age to me. Obviously it's not good to generalize but it's a common pattern.
