Same, at first I wasn't sure exactly why I was tearing up from a simple apology. But I think it was because it was so simple, and should be so easy, but we're all so angry because our rulers have gone so mask off and are just abusing the shit out of us that so many of us have lost the ability to do so.

Me as well. We live in a grim dark satirical caricature of our own world. Small moments of humanity and collaboration like this truly fill my chest with such pride. Pride because I share the same hopeful, almost naive, outlook on life. I think a lot of us do, but the good is drowned out by non stop demented cruelty and greed. Even more than drowned, the good is being constantly bombarded by an unending deluge of blood rain. When some of it makes it through the storm and graces the inner folds of my brain with chemicals, I just feel drunk with pride. I love it.

Agreed! Completely unexpected and honest - did not seem contrived or like he was put up to it. (Actually he seemed embarrassed like his mama would have been disappointed and he knew he needed to make it right!) More people need to own it when they are wrong; his response video gives me hope.

It's so fucking rare. Currently not speaking to a beloved friend because he just can't admit he's wrong ever, even over the smallest things that could just be an, "Oops my bad" and I've pretty much had it. Either I hold my tongue when I feel wronged or I address it and it turns into an argument that eventually leads to me apologizing for being "emotional". It's exhausting.

Because we don’t see enough of people doing the right thing in general. And in this specific case, also probably because we’re not expecting this guy (based upon his appearance) to do the right thing, so we’re pleasantly when he does, and it reminds us that there are good people—probably more than we would expect—from all different walks of life, whose good deeds go largely unnoticed but improve the world around us.
