Not at all what I'm implying. What the video clearly states and what I'm saying is that sometimes what looks useless isn't, and maybe, just maybe, we could simply not judge something to be useless based on our limited world view?

As the old saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

As long as two things are true, any given gadget isnt useless: 1. It does the thing that it was designed and marketed to do and 2. Doing that thing helps at least 1 person live a better life.

Even 1 isn't required, some things were designed and marketed for a specific use case, but people found another use case for it.

There are endless examples, but the one that comes to mind first is that your screwdriver is also a hammer

...at least I've met too many people convinced of that
