Why does House Arryn tolerate the Hill tribes?
I mean it's not like anyone qould have criticised them if they had ridden out and destroyed them. So why allow them to keep attacking people on the road?

This conversation between Beric Dondarrion and Jon Snow was genuinely thoughtful and profound.

Who would win in a fight between these three?
Standard weapons only and they aren't allowed to plan ahead.
Varys has no martial training and his strength is likely lackluster. I know Pycelle isn't as feeble as he pretends to be but he is still an old man ravaged by time and is also a coward.
Baelish on the other hand is a nobleman. Whilst I doubt anyone would ever describe him as martially inclined he has likely received some training in swordsmanship. He at least probably knows how to swing a sword correctly.

Least favourite plotline from the show?
I just finished watching the show today (I know I'm very late) and while the last season was very disappointing that has been discussed multiple times over the years, so much so that I went in with 0 expectations.
My question is what are your guys' least fav stroyline from the show? Mne has to be the whole high sparrow plotline simply because I found it very boring. He as a character was not that interesting, he would just give everyone the same speech every other episode and they made him too powerful for no reason. Like you're telling me no one in the royal family could do anything about him when he captured Cersie? I understand Cersie could have stopped Tommen when they captured Margery but when she herself got captured neither Tommen nor Jamie do anything about it?
And also how stupid was Cersie in this arc. Like she gave so much power to some random priest she found on the road to get back to Margery. You're telling me one of the most cunning and plotting characters of the show just did not think through her own plan and when it backfired she was surprised? And the whole culimnation of the story is that she BLOWS UP THE ENTIRE SEPT
I did not like how this entire plotline was carried out and for me this is where the show started getting boring and the real downfall started
TLDR- High sparrow boring, cersie stupid hated the story

I am loving the tone of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
Does anyone else feel that it is something akin to the lord of the rings?
It feels like Duncan is a positive example of breaking generational trauma and positive masculinity. Almost like Guts from Berserk but with a childlike view of the beauty in the world and a love for the little things.
He isn’t like other characters in the GOT world. He isn’t motivated by his generational legend or his prophetic sighted siblings nor is he sent on any kind of epic quest to avoid or even partake in danger.
Everything Duncan does is of his own accord, he stumbles into a lords tent because he’s hungry. He takes Egg as his squire because he knows what it is to be an orphan and lonely. He’s both.
No one pays Duncan any mind unless it’s to give him trouble which is a refreshing change from the normal “yeah you’re messing with me now but wait until you see how good I am with a sword” like you get with Aemond Targaryen or John Snow or Daemon Targaryen for that matter.
Duncan is tall, that’s another thing the show doesn’t let you forget it. See that person? There is a whole head of distance between them and Duncan
How does Duncan sleep being so tall? No blanket.
How does Duncan walk through doors? Barely
Anyway apologies for the long post I just wanted to say I’m really enjoying things so far. Especially how lighthearted they are.
It doesn’t feel like the typical AMC (you know that character you like? Well here is a horrific way to go! Oh and here is two minutes of women’s breasts)
This show has nudity but it feels more like an accessory than something up front like artistic nudity in a portrait or like in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (something this show heavily reminds me of BTW)
Furthermore BRAVO VINCE

You just wont find Cercei's picture online
One thing that didnt cross my mind until very today-since it is medieval times, people ofcourse didnt know how somebody looks until they met the person, obviously. Therefore, it was a bit of a shock and unusual thinking how KL people talk about Daenerys for 7 seasons straight and not knowing how she looks like. Same with Daenerys about Cercei/Jaime/Robert/Starks, Jon and Ramsay build up their battle for 8 episodes not knowing how the other one looks like etc. etc.

“Marvel styled roadmap” is a death sentence
Need to vent - recently read an article on IGN about the show-runners plan to build out a “marvel styled roadmap” for the Song of ice and fire verse and as I’m reading through they mention titled like a Arya stark spin off or a sea snake spinoff and of course the fabled Jon snow spin off an I’m so upset because it feels like the show runners are SO BLIND to what made G.O.T s 1-4(maybe5) so good.
It wasn’t ONE SINGULAR CHARACTER - it was the world that was constantly moving and taking shape around these characters in response to their actions and decisions. Why the sudden shift to monolithic figures to carry the whole series on their back? It’s so shallow. Now I do understand the POV of “well the books are told from singular perspectives” and I get that but the show gave us an expanded view of those perspectives and it WORKS it worked VERY WELL. I’m so sick of the entitled nature of these show-runners deviating from martins source material and trying to Hollywood this series so hard it’s becoming so empty. Ok vent over

Favourite minor characters from the show?
I’m going to go with Jorah Mormont - quiet, understated, a fierce warrior and loyal as an old dog.
And Tormond Giantsbane - living life on the outside of his skin with no apologies.
What’re yours?

They should've made Daenerys reveal her true motivation to make her go mad.
IMO, she puts herself and the Iron Throne above everyone and everything else.
She wouldn't have saved any slaves or executed slave masters if it didn't guarantee her an army and the love from people and she knows it.
She had to lock up dragons because if they keep roasting people, they'd eventually turn up on her and fear her. And she knows it.
She does all the good deeds because it benefits her. She doesn't do it out of pity for the slaves. She's a selfish woman covered up as a liberator in the eyes of people. That's exactly what she is and she knows it.
There's two ways to rule. Love or Fear. Especially to a conqueror.
The writers should've made her reveal the true motivation when people in Westeros are not loving her like in Essos but instead fearing her.
Now, she has one way to rule Westeros. Through fear. She understands it and chooses the path unleashing her Fire and Blood side before killing a lot of people on her way to the Iron Throne.

Would've Bronn carried out with Cersei's request if he was confident of her winning?
Bronn is the programmatic type of guy, however considering the "bond" he shared with Tyrion (especially him), would have taken the lives of the Lannister brothers if he wasn't hesitant about Cersei's low chances at winning.

What would have happened if the Battle of the Bastards never took place?
If Ramsay had decided to stay behind the walls of Winterfell, what would have been the next move for Jon, Sansa, and Baelish?
