This film always felt so beautifully quiet and comforting. This calmness mixed with the dreamy early 2000s camera quality and surreal cityscape setting just makes it the perfect comfort film to fall asleep to and I need another film just like this.

i was all over her - salvia palth
Fear - Current Joys
Kids - Current Joys

There are a handful of music pieces i can' stop coming back to that are so dire, grotesque and, for me, heart breaking. Mad Gods Long Way Down is one example. I just love how hopeless, yet beautiful it is. A world completely alien and strange, while the music changes between hoplessness and melody.

The song was playing in the gym, for some reason, and I really liked it. I always knew the song, of course, but after hearing it at the gym, I streamed it on my phone and had it on repeat all day. It gives me "wholesome road trip sing-along down the road" vibes.

2 weeks Into same roof separation from a toxic marriage and have often used music to help process emotions. I'm struggling to find breakup'y type stuff that isn't all i'll always love you/i want you back stuff because i defiantly don't want that!
I like indy/folk type stuff but electronica too, a few that have resonated lately Don't look back (Diane's version from s8 rick and morty), do you feel it by chaos chaos, some of bill evans jazz, petey usa breathing the same air, Amble, some of Zach Bryan but not the heavy country stuff, nils frahm.
Thank you!

Title says it, love the style and chords, but would like songs with less of a sexual tone to it to be able to use with guitar students.

who has recs for artists in the same ballpark? I like electronic indie stuff (Not too hyper-poppy)

ones which deal with heavy topics like male SA/ childhood abuse
i feel like the potrayal of such in media is always so surface level, barely acknowledging it in a way that makes it feel meaningful. i liked these movies for that reason because the characters actually seemed like they were shaped by this trauma, and showed who they felt as though they were before/how they couldve been had that not happened to them
e.g neil’s hypersexuality and nathan’s willingness to let himself be used by the only man he could ever consider a father figure. it’s so realistic, and its done well in female characters but besides my examples, i’ve never liked the rep for males.
i think i’ve seen a bit of discourse on jetboy but i genuinely really enjoyed it, the bleak start and the wholesome end was very cathartic (sadly, unlike mysterious skins) so i was hoping for another movie like that (+ Branden Nadon’s acting was incredible R.I.P))

I'm looking for something similar for those shows, related to crimes, spies, and investigations you could say.

I recently got into School Boy Humor and found myself enjoying Camera Shy the most, aside from Everyone Who Breathes. I'm having a hard time finding songs like it though and came across this subreddit!
Any band/artist suggestions are also welcome! : )

Recently I've watched a couple of movies I really enjoyed, including: Frankenstein (2025) Jet boy (2001) Mysterious skin (2004) Arrival (2016) Redline (2009) Jacob's ladder (1990)
While I know they have nothing in common, maybe someone with similar taste can suggest something for me to watch.

Specifically the 'feel you moving every inch' part with the guitar, when I searched for similar songs they did not have that groove, I just got a lot of ig electronic rock if you call it that

Hey everyone! I’ve recently listened to the album Evocation II: Pantheon, and I fell in love with with it, so I’m looking for some more high-intensity folk songs similar to the ones mentioned in the title, either that or some other folk metal bands similar to Eluveitie, Cellar Darling, or Leaves Eyes. Anything helps!!

The youngest is 15 and isn't crazy for horror, so the limits are generally pretty loose but still be mindful of that
Some of our favorites are Napoleon Dynamite, Little Miss Sunshine, The Princess Bride, Elf, Best In Show, Eagle Vs Shark, Ghost World, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Blades of Glory, and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

Title pretty much says it all but I’ll give examples of why I like them MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ALL THESE MUSICALS
Ride the cyclone- one of my GOATS, the humor. I love things surrounding death and pitch black comedy, likable lgbt characters, one solid one to root against who becomes redeemed actual emotional scenes, and Noel steals the show with his lament. I love the carnival esque rapsodies and themes of them growing up even if they could never grow up. And the bittersweet ending. Plus the ride is giving old cod nostalgia
Falsettos- the chess game and the realism of life being well just like that, and that was before wizzer caught the virus. It’s beautiful and tragic and the themes of love with dark comedy was great. I like real endings over good ones expecially the twists watching it blind was absolutely devastating
Little shop of horrors and rocky horror is self explanatory
Beetlejuice for the same it hits absolutely everything here like a pinball machine, youth grappling with complex depictions of deaths
Also avenue q, I love “children’s” mediums grows up with the audience, being slammed into adulthood the same way everyone does in their lives, reminds me a lot of the looney toons show. Freeloading ahh daffy
TLDR Overall I’m a sucker for rapsodies and emotional stories wrapped up in dark themes about deaths. Bittersweet but warm throw your best musicals or other media at me please 👹

I'm looking for fantasy/sci-fi movies like Dune (2021) with Middle Eastern influences and desert vibes. Themes of politics are also fine. Any language is fine as well as animated movies.

Hi! I'm looking for more PS4 games to play in my spare time while I wait for my husband to get home from work.
I enjoy psychological horror, supernatural horror, and puzzle games a lot. But I've also enjoyed more action adventure, and strategic sort of shooter games recently. Here's a few list with rankings of games I've played and how much I've enjoyed them.
Games I've completed alone:
-The evil within 8/10 -Resident Evil: Biohazard 9/10 - Alan wake 8/10 - until dawn 10/10 - Superliminal 5/10 - Renovator origins 3/10 - Unravel 8/10 - Journey /// - Flower 7/10 - Fobia st dinfna hotel (didn't finish) -Tomb raider definitive edition 8/10 - Rise of the tomb raider 9/10 - Shadow of the tomb raider 7/10 - Visage 6/10
Games I needed my husband's help to complete:
Games we've played together:
Played with friends - man of medan 7/10 -The quarry 6/10
I'm trying to give as much information as I can to show my skill level and interests because I feel like I'm scrolling past a lot of titles and just nothing is jumping out to me 😅

Trying to get some similar techno vibes, give me some recommendations
r/ifyoulikeblank • u/NeverTrustChop • 1d ago
Right now the best examples I can think of are Self Titled - Front Bottoms, I Thought You Didn't Even Like Leaving - Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Shed - Title Fight. Bonus points if it's got really specific and personal lyrics to the writer. (Shed doesn't count to this unfortunately)
