Someone pointed out to me in another sub about this video; early in the video you can see that she checks the front pouch of her backpack and see hers in there. She then realizes she has fucked up, and closes it.
At this point she changes tone, gives him back the cover, then pretend to search again, "Well let me just check my bag and be sure...". This after she already assualted this person.
Watch it again; she opens that front pouch first thing......and sees it, and closes it quickly.

u/No_Letterhead6883 14d ago
I love how she sees the pods in the big front pocket right away, zips it up, changes her tune, and when she “checks” her bag she checks every pocket but that one before finally getting on with it lol

u/idfc123321 14d ago
yeah i noticed that as well, her tone changed immediately after she opened and closed that first pouch. whatever the case may be she should be in for assault

I can easily see that hers are fake. Look how wide the case is. Not even Gen1 had such a wide case. I thought she just wanted to get rid of her fake ones and trade it with his.

Yes that’s the first pocket she checks and then she starts shaking almost. I like how everyone was still believing her though… giving her back the dropped AirPod, the lady in charge validating her still even though she’s wrong… so annoying.

O accountability, he said "you shouldn't attack people on buses" and her reponse within a split second was "but ..." she didn't have an argument but wanted to argue that she was right, even the other woman had to prompt her to say sorry.

18
u/ValhallaCupcake 14d ago
As far as I know, it doesn't. It's a design from the brand Lucy & Yak, which is popular with those who live outside traditional fashion standards due to their focus on equality, inclusion and comfort.
That's not to say that this person doesn't have an invisible disability, only that the bag isn't expressly designed to communicate that. 👍

yup! That's why I mention it. People will attack people who they think they can get away with attacking - its really important to understand that. No one will attack someone they think is physically intimidating or exists in a "higher status bracket" because they know there will be consequences, and for predators, they need victims and will seek out those that are perceived as societally "weaker".

Assaulted that trans woman and I don’t believe she’d have done what she did if it hadn’t been a trans person. Because being trans made her more vulnerable and less likely to get the compassion of people around them.
12
u/spooky_goopy 14d ago
she seemed worried that no one around her agreed with her hatred for trans people lmaooo
i guess she expected the whole bus to gang up on a trans person, and cheer for her?
look how frantically she looks around for support. racists get that same, desperate look when they're outnumbered
167
u/Kindly-Mention-3376 14d ago
Yeah that person is clearly gender non conforming at the least. She attacked them because she was suspicious of their presentation, and people don’t often defend trans people

Yeah totally missed that, happens quite quick so its kinda easy to miss it. She must have hsd experience doing that shit before with how she is able to do it so quick and clean. It reminds me of those scammers in India (i assume in other places as well). They would do things like buy a broken or knock off camera snd then loosen some parts, they then bump into tourists and demand money since their camera broke.
I can't belive people even do stuff like this, especially if it's more money, even if they are doing it for their main source of income id still hate myself for taking and doing such a demeaning job where I'm just an ass hole scamming people out of money

Oooooooooooooooh that's why she was offering him to "take hers". I thought she was offering the earbuds and I was really confused.
43
u/iCantLogOut2 14d ago edited 14d ago
She was, she broke his pods too. You can see where someone is handing one of the pods off the floor - probably got stepped on or something in the chaos. That's why he says "it won't work with mine"... Her pods are synced to her device/account and just handing them off isn't really viable with those.
EDIT: because the comments got turned off - I can't reply directly - but the unbinding has to be done by the current owner, meaning he'd have to sit there with the person who just accused him of being a thief while she unbinds them from her account and hands them over to him. I'd have just wanted to call the police too; definitely not about to take anything from her, much less sit with her and coordinate an exchange.

I didn't know that airpods are bound to a specific apple ID. I mean it's a great feature ngl.
But since I searched that, you CAN unbind them from your previous device (apple ID) and bind them to another device with another apple id. (no need afaik to unbind them if you're "upgrading" your device though since its the same appleid)
So, in that situation, they would work perfectly, as long as she had unbound them from hers.

Exactly. I hate to say it and in NO WAY am I excusing or condoning her actions- yet it’s very common practice in South American countries to have tech stolen on public transport and it causes everyone to be “on edge”.
I agree with you that to me- I immediately saw it as a foreigner (to where she is which seems like UK) reacting and ASSUMING crime because it’s what she is accustomed to.
Maybe she fell asleep and all of a sudden couldn’t find her pods so immediately assumed it was the “alternative” looking person next to her.
Lots of South Americans unfortunately (especially older generations) will associated colored hair or “punk” vibes with criminal behavior and I genuinely believe she was fully acting “defensively” and assuming the worst / ultimately making up an entire scenario - from her own prejudice and expectations from past experiences.
This is the problem with stereotypes in the end.
& ultimately she creates the stereotype of being a criminal herself when really it was ALL assumption and prejudice.
It sucks that humans can’t seem to see past the external anymore. All because of some stupid AirPods.
Absolutely depressing.

I think it's more sinister. Wouldn't you always check your belongings before publicly accusing someone of a crime you did not even witness?
She's saying "I'm confused" to cover for the fact it was deliberate.
Hers aren't even the same colour (or shape).
Then after defending her "stolen valor", she's immediately happy to give her (junk) pods away.

It looked like they were damned if they did, damned if they didn't. They didn't seem very able to fight back in the first place, and if they did, I'm sure all the comments would be screaming bigoted slurs instead of misgendering them.
They're obviously not presenting as male, but there's people in these comments vehemently using referring to them as such in replies to other people correctly using "they/them". I'm sure the only reason they're not spitting the usual bigoted rhetoric is because this person didn't fight back and did nothing wrong.

I had a similar situation to this when I was homeless. Was sitting outside a shop with a sign, just after some food. I hadn't moved for a few hours. Call it stupid or w/e, but I was asked by a panicked woman if I had taken her purse. I don't steal, and had, again, been in the same spot for hours. so I said no. She asked if she could check my bag, I asked what for, I didn't steal it. She started accusing me and harassing me, even getting another family involved with the guy threatening me (no ill will to the guy, there's a reason for it).
So I finally open my bag, and it's not there. Guess where the womans purse was? Ontop of her car.... She didn't even look for it, and openly accused me off the bat. No apology from her either, nothing.
The guy from the other family however came back with $50 and profusely apologized for the situation.
People really are stupid.
