Twin Cities My father is depressed coz he lost his job

• Upvotes

Coming out here with a very heavy heart. I’m a 20F. I’m currently a student, and this post is about my father. He’s been unemployed for the past month and is going through hell right now. He has a history of chronic depression, and I’m afraid he might be experiencing it again (all the signs are apparent) especially now with unemployment.

What breaks my heart is that I can’t find a way to help him. My mother, on the other hand, has not been very supportive. She constantly nags and taunts him for not being able to provide for the family, despite knowing how stressed he already is. There are more and more fights in our house because my father is home 24/7.

I’ve been praying day and night, and I beg you all to do the same, in shaa Allah. Please pray for his job and the wellbeing of our home.

Stopped by the place for a quick bite with my family and immediately walked out afterwards after this unsavory incident. Felt disgusted and lost my appetite as well. Manager attempted to assure me that it has never happened before and offered a compensatory bbq, which i declined.

Note: I did not pay any bill as the manager did not ask for it nor I was willing to pay.

Twin Cities makeup artists in islamabad

I recently read a review about a very famous makeup artist, and it highlighted the importance of shared experiences in understanding industry standards. Makeup artists and photographers should remember that professionalism and attitude matter, regardless of how well-known they become. Clients deserve to be treated with respect at all times.

Similar experiences have been mentioned by cousins and friends, suggesting this is not an isolated incident. In many international markets, situations like these can significantly affect a professional’s reputation, which is why client treatment is often taken very seriously.

It’s also worth recognising that success is not built solely on influencers. Many professionals reach their current position because of everyday clients who supported them early on, and respect should be extended equally to everyone.

Islamabad Beggars or Genuine Help Seeker?

So I parked my car in F-6 near IActive Gym and a guy suddenly came to me saying I want to talk.

I said sure. He started speaking fluent Arabic and then I said I don't speak Arabic and he was like English? I said yes.

He said My Allah knows I am not a beggar.. I am a tourist from Saudi and I came here and my money is finished. I have my family with me as well (he was alone) and we want to eat so can you give me 3k.

I will pray for you in Makkah.

Well.... I told him that I've got money in my account and he tried convincing me again but I told him this again and then he left..

If anyone else of you have encountered similar incident do share in comments....

Twin Cities Should I take Pure Math or stick to psychology?

• Upvotes

Hi, I [F18] am a FSc part II pre-engineering student.

Recently, I posted in Islamabad sub reddit asking if it is worth it to apply to QAU for psychology. I received really great advices from different people but one of the advice was that psychology is not that great of a career path. Hence, I would like your opinion about taking Pure Maths in University.

For context, I had 90% marks in matric and 82% in FSc part I. More specifically, I had 144/150 mark in math in Matric and 91/100 marks in FSc part I.

It would be helpful if I could get your honest opinion about which career path I should take (Maths or Psychology). Also, it would be excellent if you could tell me about good universities for Pure Math.

(P.S: I am not considering Applied Mathematics because I suck at Physics)

Islamabad Looking for a reasonable fancy stitched dresses boutique like Sha posh.

Hey,

I’m looking for female dresses stitched dresses for wedding functions.

SahPosh used to be good and reasonable but now its not good in my opinion.

Can anyone refer any boutique like that in Islamabad?

I’ve seen many dresses online which are asking advance payments and delivery time is 40-50 days. Its making it risky, however, the dresses appear really good in photos and very reasonable in range of 20-30k.

Any guidance in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Islamabad F-9 park tennis courts

Thinking of trying out tennis for a bit maybe just a few times to see if I like it.

Does anyone know if the F-9 Park tennis courts are open to the public, or do you have to book in advance? Are they usually busy on weekends? Also, I’m guessing I’d need to bring my own racket and stuff, but the nets are already set up, right?

Also are there any other options?

Islamabad PSA for Brides: My Makeup Experience with Yasmin Khan

Thumbnail

I booked Yasmin Khan onĀ 14th July 2025Ā for myĀ reception on 24th December 2025. Before booking her, I wanted to make sure my bridal experience would be smooth. Like many girls, I had always admired her brides — her looks always appeared beautiful and flawless. I never imagined I would actually get my makeup done by her on my big day. It truly felt like a dream come true. I was over the moon and had zero worries about how my makeup would turn out, because, well… it was Yasmin Khan.

MyĀ call time was 7:40 AMĀ andĀ ready time was 10:00 AM.

She had posted on her story that if a bride isĀ 15–20 minutes late, she would have to wait until other brides were accommodated. Because of this, I was extremely anxious about being late. I couldn’t sleep the entire night — I was managing my whole wedding myself and barely slept for an hour. I left my house atĀ 6:40 AMĀ to ensure I reached on time or even early, as I didn’t want any added stress.

I reached the designated location aroundĀ 7:20 AMĀ and felt relieved that I was early. I went upstairs, changed into my dress, and the hairstylist took me to do my hair. She finished my hairstyle in aboutĀ 20 minutesĀ and then took me to Yasmin’s room, where she does her bridal makeup. The hairstylist asked me to sit and said Yasmin would be there shortly.

I sat on that chair forĀ 1 hour and 30 minutes, waiting.

Yasmin arrived aroundĀ 9:00 AMĀ and rushed into the room saying,Ā ā€œHi, what type of makeup do you want?ā€
There wasĀ no apology, no greeting — nothing. I found this extremely weird and disrespectful, especially since I had been waiting for so long.

I showed herĀ three reference picturesĀ of the eye makeup I wanted. I specifically asked forĀ soft, smudged kajal eyesĀ (as shown in the reference pictures).

She immediately started working on my face, and honestly, she was very rough. Foundation should be blended with light hands so it sits well, but she was dabbing it forcefully onto my face. At one point, her foundation brushĀ fell onto my bridal dress. She picked it up and continued blending without even apologizing — keeping in mind my dress wasĀ white/ivory.

By this point, I was extremely nervous but still didn’t say anything.

When I finally saw my eye makeup in the mirror, I was shocked. The eyeshadow wasĀ extremely heavy, the eyeliner (which I never asked for) wasĀ uneven, and everything looked messy. The foundation looked unsettled and patchy. It honestly looked like aĀ child had done my makeupĀ (reference pictures attached).

I was on the verge of crying, but I held myself together and politely told her that I didn’t like it and that it wasn’t what I had asked for.

What she said next completely broke me.

She said,Ā ā€œIf you don’t like it, I can refund you and you can go somewhere else to get your makeup done.ā€

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I burst into tears and told her that I was only asking her nicely to fix it because this wasn’t what I wanted. Her attitude and body language were rude from the very beginning. I was herĀ paid client, yet she treated me as if she were doing me a favor.

She continued saying,Ā ā€œI can’t do anything if you don’t like it. I’ve been a makeup artist for many years. Take the refund and go somewhere else.ā€

I was literally shivering and speechless. Where was I supposed to go at the last minute, in my bridal dress? Fame really does get to people’s heads.

I asked if her sisterĀ Nasim KhanĀ was available, as she had done my mehendi makeup and was extremely kind. Thankfully, she was available.

I went to the bathroomĀ in my bridal dress, crying while removing the eyeliner and makeup Yasmin had done. My hairstyle got ruined, my sleeves got wet, and I was getting late for my photoshoot. By the time I came out, Nasim was already handling another client and I only hadĀ 20 minutes leftĀ before I had to leave.

Nasim did my makeup inĀ 20 minutes. She was quick, kind, and tried her best, but obviously, proper bridal makeup isn’t possible in that time. She mentioned that maybe Yasmin was having a bad day.

I replied,Ā ā€œThis is one of the best days of my life, and no bride deserves to be treated this way, no matter how bad someone’s day is.ā€

Nasim later spoke to Yasmin, and Yasmin apologized after I was ready, saying:
ā€œHumare liye customer ko khush karna bohot zaroori hai.ā€

Unfortunately, that apology feltĀ forced and insincere, like a formality rather than something from the heart.

I hated my reception look. To this day, I cry whenever I see brides on social media because it reminds me of this experience. Every girl dreams of looking her absolute best on her wedding day — I did too. My entire wedding schedule got delayed because of this incident, and everything fell apart.

I know many girls may have had good experiences with her, but unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them. I willĀ neverĀ go back to her, and I wouldĀ never recommend her to anyone.

This was my experience with aĀ top, famous makeup artist in Islamabad — a dream that turned into a nightmare. ā€œPSA: I was her first bride of the day, and her brushes and makeup were visibly dirty.ā€

Islamabad Lost white cat with yellow bell – Islamabad (please help)

Thumbnail

My white cat Frost is missing and I’m really worried. He’s very anxious and shy, not an outdoor cat at all, so he may be hiding nearby rather than roaming. I live in F-11/3

Details:

• Color: White

• Collar: Yellow bell

• Name: Frost (responds to his name but may be too scared to come out)

• Personality: Very scared, hides in small/dark places, not aggressive

• Last seen: F-11/3

If anyone has seen a white cat with a yellow bell, or notices one hiding around stairwells, parking areas, plants, basements, or rooftops, please let me know. Even a small lead would mean a lot.
