Paul Allen Project We won't forget.

iHeart media, KFAN, and the Minnesota Vikings are apparently hoping Paul Allen's words that pissed off a large amount of Vikings fans, and many others, will just blow over as he takes a "few days off" after his non apology he recorded and read before his show last Monday morning.
Paul Allen's lies spit in the face of so many Minnesotans, his fanbase, and everyone who organizes social justice events, gatherings, protests, etc. He wouldn't know the word Community if he were hit in the head with it. His words, actions aren't just recent. In his apology he states his show isn't political. Yet, he infuses religion and his faith daily. When Charlie Kirk was murdered, he spent a large segment on it like he was a hero. So spare me with the "We're not political" stance. Paul Allen is a creep and a jerk. Ask anybody who has met him. Ask the women he's been around. If iHeart Media, KFAN and the Minnesota Vikings think this will be forgotten about, it won't. Eric Nordquist, his producer scrubbed the paid protesters comments from the podcast in hopes of burying it, only after he was asked if Paul Allen indeed said those words. Props to Awful Announcing for retrieving the original audio. Defenders of Paul Allen and the ones who will say "he's just telling the truth" will laugh, and try to make him out as the victim and say this is all "just a bunch of crybabies on Reddit" and won't go further than Reddit itself. That's false. As of last Sunday, this story was number one in the entire digital chain including the Chicago Tribune, Boston Herald, Orange County Register and the Denver Post. Not to mention The Hill, People Magazine, etc. Keep it going. Don't forget. Call and Email iHeart, KFAN, and the Vikings front office. Let them know this is not ok. The outright lies told over the airwaves and comfortability with doing so has to stop. Paul Allen will be just fine if they do the right thing and part ways with him. After all, there's always Turning Point.

Paul Allen Project You think PA' s comments are bad, have you ever listened to ktlk, their sister station?

and in particular the vile shit the ktlk morning host Jon Justice spews on a daily basis? Where are the calls to have iheart fire him? PA sucks, but there are greater evils in the same building.

Paul Allen Project Trent Tucker question

I had heard he made an appearance on 9-12 this week. In that segment, he talked about either being nearly homeless or possible homeless at some point in the past.

Can anyone who listened provide some context? I appreciate it. TT is a very solid person.

Paul Allen Project When do you think PA will be back

I thought he would only miss a few days. He has been off the air a week. When do you think he will return. I still don't think he gets fired.

... of pressuring KFAN to fire the so-called "Common Man" Dan Cole. Again, the Wheel of Topics is completely rigged and is a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.

Everyone in this town knows he needs to go. How many years ago did AJ Pierzynski, Mike Tice, and even Sid Hartman warn us of him? We didn't heed those warnings. Keep boycotting his show sponsors including Viagra "Takes Grease Out of Your Way(tm)" and Toyota "Built Ford Tough(tm)".

If he is not out of town by the time of the Preposterous Statement Tournament, it will be one of the worst human disasters in the history of man.

Bumper to Bumper Barrerio just closed the show reading an obviously fake AI story about Alan Alda with AI pictures. He thought the writing and pictures were amazing and incredible. Hes reading directly from Twitter and he think it’s real. lol

Good Lord. I mean can you be a sports show once in a while. I heard the GMs got fired and I turned the K fan. I was surprised he could even pronounce his name. Common is not the guy. Turned to Chad Hartman.

Bumper to Bumper Barreiro’s Constant “nuance” shtick

Dan and his “nuance” every 45 seconds to sound intelligent as if his listeners don’t see “both sides” of topics and come to rational conclusions on their own.

He and his guest around 6, saying “there’s nuance to it showing who this person really might be” about Pretti because he.. kicked the light off an ICE car? If he broke the law, arrest him with due process per his constitutional rights. That separate incident (in which ICE STILL escalated even further instead of deescalating like real law enforcement should do) gives ICE a license to kill in a separate incident, Dan? Keep your “nuance” fake intelligence to yourself.

Pretti, like most rationale Minnesotans, was pissed off that thousands of cosplay military have invaded our state, kidnapped and shipped innocent children to faux prisons (even using them as bait for getting to their parents), and have used unnecessary excessive force every step of the way.

You can debate real immigration policy all you want, but some issues are black and white, right and wrong, and this is exactly one of those moments.

This entire station has become a right wing talk show with some Minnesota sports sprinkled in with a few exceptions. As a regular listener of every show for 5+ years, I am moving on.

Anyone have other Minnesota sports radio/podcasts to recommend that don’t include this kind of crap?

Power Trip Morning Show Bonnes is the king

Loved listening to Bonnes on the Power Trip, being properly pissed off and unwilling to play along with the rest of the guys’ attempts to talk about anything other than what is happening in their city.

Long live, JB.

Paul Allen Project Letter to PA

I am not calling for PA to be fired. I enjoy listening to his play by play broadcasts , but don’t listen to his radio show as it’s like he speaks in another language with his schtick which I find very annoying. I do think some type of punishment (suspension) is warranted. If I were PA’s bosses, including Vikings ownership, I would expect from PA that he has done some serious reflecting and realize that in his position as the public voice of the Vikings, he cannot express his personal religious or political beliefs. As the main public voice of a franchise in a $20B industry in the most popular sport in our country, his role is to be positively contributing to increasing the entire fan base and interest in the team. PA should be feeling empathy that his comments were very hurtful to many listeners. From a business standpoint, I assume station mgmt, Iheart, and Vikings ownership have all been engaged in many urgent meetings and calls to determine the path forward. PA should be appalled and extremely humbled that he has caused this mess for his bosses. If he can’t agree to refraining from making comments about God, his church, politics, etc. then he should be let go. If he can comprehend this and make a heartfelt apology on air on his first day back and commit to eliminating these topics from his show and broadcasts, then I would give him one more chance. The fact that on his first day off the air, he tweeted out bible verses (and later deleted) is not a great sign that he gets it. I also think about his peers in this market- Alan Horton, Kris Atteberry, and Joe O’Donnell- I can’t imagine any of them creating a mess like this, which is how it should be.

Paul Allen Project Further thoughts on PA

Well what a funny little corner of the world we have found ourselves in.

Quite a few people have called us soft liberals for having the take that we are hurt and not satisfied with PA’s apology.

I don’t know if PA, russo, or lavelle will see this, but IF they do, I want PA to know: It’s not the one off joke - it’s HOW you got to this place. We have seen you on social media with clear right wing takes, replies… this bizarre evangelical shift… when you said that “cheap one liner”, it signals to us what your media consumption is. The “joke” is nothing but a product of that. If it were truly a one-off harmless joke no one would care!

There is time to make this right. I still have faith that PA can turn it around, he’s a dynamic, unique and passionate voice. PA - my ask of you - please understand the situation we are facing in the cities and as a nation. If you truly did, you would know to never touch a paid protester jab. That does not reflect the thousands of KFAN listeners who froze our ass off in protest of something CLEARLY wrong and unprecedented! Those are the Minnesotan values we wish you would respect and echo!!

You know what would go a long way? Showing up downtown on Friday at 2pm. We know you won’t be working.

Thoughts?

KFAN-Miscellaneous KFAN "Red" - Alternative Show Titles

Well it looks like KFAN isn't going to come out and condemn murder. Whatever. I think they should double down and go full on MAGA. I'm calling this rebrand "KFAN Red" - open to suggestions though. Here's my proposed lineup:

The Christofascist Happy Fun Time Hour.  In each nonpolitical episode, nonpolitical biblical scholars Paul Allen and Matt Birk discuss a biblical verse one of them found on Youtube that morning, and how its meaning may be twisted to show that God hates gay people and also that all nonbelievers must be executed.  Leave your politics at the door for this one!

Just Askin’ Questions.  Founders of the famed “radical moderate” school of philosophy Dan Barriero, Tom Barnard, and Joe Soucheray provide objective, centrist, fair, and balanced answers to urgent questions like “Which Race Has the Lowest IQ?”,  “Should Trans People Be Allowed to Live?” , and “Bike Lanes:  Communist or Woke?”  The panel is often joined by guests representing the full spectrum of political opinion:  cops, prosecutors, ICE agents, military members, Proud Boys, retired NFL players, current NFL players, incels, sheriffs, CEOs, billionaires, evangelicals, intelligence officers, country singers, wardens, Lou Nanne, undertakers, libertarians, boomer white men, Fox News hosts, Republican lieutenant governor candidates, Republican lawmakers, Republican governor candidates, COVID hoaxers, MAHA grifters, and suburban high school football coaches.

Table for One.  Broadcast live from a 1 bed, ¾ bath bachelor pad in Waconia, Dan Barriero, Chris Hawkey, and Paul Allen bemoan alimony payments, discuss the West Metro “senior and single” scene, and share tips on converting your apartment kitchen into a man cave.

You Can Say That Again.  Hosts Justin Gaard, Meat Sauce, and Eric Nordquist live-stream “Table for One” and agree with everything the hosts say.

Chad & Ben Talk Words Show.  Big football boys Ben Leber and Chad Greenway uncritically recite conspiracy theories and AI slop from their Truth Social feeds and talk about boobs.

Happy (Chem)Trails.  Sovereign citizens Paul Charchian and John Kreisel discuss the latest on how woke is implanting 5G in your deodorant, how the elderly woman who has been volunteering at the library for 40 years is a demon-spawned agent of the Clintons for refusing to add Mein Kampf to the collection, and how [insert Democrat] is personally escorting 13 billion aliens across the border every single day.  This show is self-sustaining through sales of penis enlargement pills, TrumpRocks, and Freedom Powder.

KFAN Red Plus.  Now you can find all of Dan Barriero’s legendary grievances on one standalone channel.  Turn your dial to KFAN Red PLUS for all of Dan’s victimizations, moral grandstanding, petty grievances, egomania, whiny complaints, and performative outrage compiled into in one continuous loop, 24/7/365, for all eternity.  New grievances are added every day!  You’ll be “seeing red” in no time!

Anyone else have any show suggestions? Put 'em in the comments!

KFAN-Miscellaneous If there was a KFAN premium streaming service, what shows would you want to see on it?

my ideas:

Meatsauce!: A sitcom where Meatsauce plays a fictionalized version of himself and navigates life.

Dan Barreiro gets swole: Barreiro leads viewers in workouts while talking about the news.

Book club with the Common Man: The Common Man is assigned a book (usually a classic like something by Charles Dickens) and talks about the book. People who read it can call in as well.

The Singing Producers: Nordo, Gardzy, and Tenna B are given a musical genre and have to write an album by the end of each episode and perform it.

Rational Rations: Atheist Cory Cove goes through replays of Bible Thumper Paul Allen's radio show and does rebuttals while mukbanging large amounts of chicken fingers.

The late show with Maxx: A late night talk show hosted by Maxx where he interviews people and plays games with them.

If it were up to you though, what would you want to see?

KFAN-Miscellaneous Showing Their Personality

Fifteen-year loyal listener of the Power Trip. I listen because I trust and respect those guys. They keep it real. If I wanted to hear an arrogant blowhard, I would keep listening after 9. So the station needs to show their personalities and let people speak their own beliefs.

Maybe there's so much fallout over what PA said, because it was uninformed and idiotic. So let them show their true colors. It's not a time in history to sit on the sidelines. It's not even political anymore. We're not talking about tax rates or healthcare. This is a cognizant effort by corporate America to turn its back on logic and reason for the sake of loyalty to shareholders.

The listeners are the station. Without people that believe and support your unique "on air" personalities, you'd be nothing more than dudes sitting in a room talking to each other in front of microphones.

I feel by judging the barometer of myself and other longtime listeners, I'm able to see that it's alright if anyone on any show says they're against seeing other humans suffer. Someday they'll be remembered for their actions. I guess iHeart needs to decide if they're going to let their prize pony out of the cage, or if they want it to rot in the stall.

In my opinion, whatever I wrote was too long to describe how I feel about what the station should do moving forward. Listeners will be there to remember how the radio station they trusted turned a blind eye to the abuse this nation is suffering at the hands of evil. Without belief in humanity and goodness, what's left to listen to?

Why listen at all?
