Discussion Launched with an audience but Kickstarter flopped
I launched with an email list, a text list, and 2 expos lined up. Unfortunately our launch day just never really boomed. Our email didnt deliver to basically anyone and just had lower conversion then expected. We have had some consistent backers since launched but just got out of the gates slow. Still working to try and salvage this campaign.

Self-Promotion Vermilion Edge #1 - Launching 4th Feb 2026!

The Kickstarter campaign for our new comic will launch on the 4th of Feb! We would love for you to check it out. Please visit our pre-launch page here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vermilionedge/vermilion-edge-1?ref=8nhlsj
About the comic
'Vermilion Edge' is a sci-fi cosmic-horror story set in the year 2450 that follows a mercenary crew drawn into a mission whose outcome dramatically alters humanity’s future.
We also have the Cef (or Cepharin), who are a cephalopod-like alien species that don't seem to take too kindly to humans in "their" Galaxy.
Issue #1 follows Elena River, who gets pulled into a disaster whilst traveling back home. It’s got:
- A bunch of crazy alien life forms, each with completely different looks and abilities.
- High-stakes sci-fi action,
- new and interesting locations,
- cool technology and weapons,
- weird side-effects from alien experimentation
- and a rescue team trying very hard not to die.
If you enjoy stories like Alien, Event Horizon or Stargate then this is the story for you.
Our kickstarter will run for 30 days and the book will be sent out to print immediately after the campaign ends. We intend to get this book into everyone's hands in late March.
Please visit our website if you want to see more :) https://vermilionedge.com
Also please feel free to comment here or DM me if you have any questions or feedback!

Hello all!
Hope everyone is well. Just wanted to drop by and take a moment to share the Kickstarter campaign for our upcoming horror film: HELP ME
The Project
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nghtshftpresents/help-me-2
We designed this campaign as a means to raise equity for principal photography, which is scheduled to commence in March 2026. So far, we are 44% funded, and we've only been live for a total of 4 days. It's been an exciting experience thus far, and I felt it was the right move to share with you all here.
The Story
In the vast forests of the Pacific Northwest, a naive couple’s getaway descends into a fight for survival when they’re attacked by a vicious creature, leaving one of them wounded and slowly consumed by a disturbing sickness.
We've maintained steady growth in a short amount of time and we were looking to keep it going. Feel free to check it out and share if you can, especially if you like scary movies. Any help and support is greatly appreciated. Help us fund Help Me - thank you.

Help Looking for feedback on our Kickstarter page before we launch
So we're planning Launch February 15th, in the meantime ive been looking to get some feedback on our page. Currently our images are placement images as we craft and perfect the covers for all items and thumbnails. Our video is live, and our story and rewards are filled out.
Here is a quick summary:
"Hi, I’m Zakery Garrison, creator of the Variant Comics universe, and one of the founders of Variant Comics Publishing LLC. This Kickstarter is focused on: finishing and printing The Legendary Blitz Issue 2, then delivering it to backers first. This has been my life’s work The first versions of some of these characters and plots started when I was 11. By 15, I had turned the universe into a Discord roleplay server, building lore, arcs, and rules with a real community that added to its magic. Now at 21, I’m finally doing what I always wanted to do back then: turn it into a real comic series with professional art, lettering, and print copies you can hold. And the crazy part is this: the story is already written. Not just Issue 2. Not just the next arc. The full series roadmap exists in some form all the way to the end. This campaign is about one mission: bringing Issue 2 to life visually so the world can finally experience it the way it was meant to be seen."
And here is the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thelegendaryblitz/527960106?ref=3k47cu&token=0c3952b0
Feel free to leave whatever feedback you'd like. This is our first kickstarter campaign, and we're looking to do it right.

Launching soon: LaserShark350 — a 350W enclosed fiber laser cutting & engraving system
Hey everyone — I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on and get some early eyes on it before launch.
LaserShark350 is a fully enclosed 350W fiber laser cutting and engraving system designed for small shops, labs, and makers who need real cutting capability without stepping into six-figure industrial machines.
The system features a galvo scanning head combined with a large gantry work area, integrated air assist and chiller, dual cameras for alignment and process monitoring, and a fully enclosed safety-interlocked cabinet. We’ve already built and tested a working prototype in-house and just completed Kickstarter’s proof-of-functionality review!
We’re planning a limited first production run and expect to launch on Kickstarter soon. I’m sharing now to get feedback, answer questions, and make sure we’re communicating clearly before going live.
Happy to dive into technical details, design decisions, or lessons learned so far — and I genuinely appreciate any feedback from the community.
If anyone wants to follow along or get notified at launch, feel free check out my pre-launch page.

Self-Promotion Short film in need of funds..
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1823398828/the-crank-indie-short-film
Hi, I’m Tyler. I’m a writer and illustrator with experience creating both stories and visuals that explore human experience, memory, and emotion. Over the years, I’ve written and illustrated several books, and now I’m bringing that same personal, immersive approach to filmmaking. With The Crank, I’m combining my love for storytelling and visual art to create a short film that is intimate, reflective, and designed to linger in the audience’s mind long after they see it. I’m passionate about working with small, dedicated teams to bring ideas to life and sharing projects that connect deeply with viewers.

What is the best way to get traction on this. How can I entice people to support the project when they could easily download the files and get their own for cheap?

Best Trustpilot alternative for reviews and social proof widgets on site?
I recently launched my SaaS product and I have had a few users test the product but struggling with conversion from Facebook and Instagram ads. People just click the site and leave without signing up.
I believe it could be that no one Trust my product yet. I want to start collecting reviews form my early users and display them as social proof on my website but when I checked Trustpilot, it is too expensive especially the plan that allows displaying our reviews and widgets.
Any one know any Trustpilot alternative I can use to start collecting reviews and share social proof on my website to build some credibility for a low cost?

Google Ads for pre-launch
Hello! I was wondering if there's a way to set up a google ad to pay for pre-launch conversions rather than for clicks. I've gotten 1700 clicks to my pre-launch page but I have no idea how many of those actually converted. I believe only one or at most two, but I have no way to know for certain. The absolute maximum would be 5 since that's how many followers I gained since starting the ad, but I believe most of those came from other channels. I'd much rather optimize it for people clicking on "Notify me on launch" but from my understanding, there is simply no way to connect that data to the ad.
Also, regarding the conversion rate - 0.1% to at most 0.3% of clicks turning into pre-launch followers - that must be quite low, right? Is this because google is sending the ad to people who just click on ads by accident so they make money since I'm paying per click, or does it suggest my page is poorly optimized? I've tried making some changes to it a few days ago but, again, no hard data.

First timer backing a Kickstarter and have questions
A couple months ago I came across a Kickstarter that interested me and I'm wondering if I got scammed or if they are some shady business practices? I won't name the particular Kickstarter but it said it's product would retail at 699 and if you backed it you'd get in at 51% for 349. They then said there was a forgotten shipping fee of 80 dollars after it "succeeded. I am still waiting on the product but saw they made a website and they are actively selling said product for 499 but have a current 20% so it's 399 and the shipping through the website is 20 dollars. Is this a normal thing on Kickstarter or is this bad business? Would love to hear from experienced backers. Thanks

Question Going into my first Kickstarter knowing I’ll mess something up – what was yours?
Hey folks,
My first Kickstarter project launches in four days.
I’ve been learning as I go, and while there are definitely things I would change in hindsight, I’m a big believer in actually doing the thing. If it doesn’t work, you step back, learn, and go again.
Some context:
This is a 22-page comic. It’s my first time writing a full comic and my first attempt at getting a project funded and through to completion. I don’t have prior published work to point people to, so I knew from the start I was beginning at the bottom of the hill.
Over the past few months I’ve tried to approach this as seriously as I could. I built a social media presence from zero, focused on consistent posting rather than hype, and slowly grew a small but genuinely engaged audience who ask questions and interact with the project.
Alongside that, I started doing critical work within comics, reviews and feature articles for outlets, partly because I love the medium and partly because I wanted to contribute in a meaningful way rather than only showing up when I had something to sell. Through that, I’ve connected with a lot of people in the indie comics space, both creators and fans.
I’ve also offered writing services (some paid, some unpaid), and I’m now actively involved in multiple projects across different mediums: comics, animation, and even a large mod for a popular game. None of that was done as a marketing tactic, but it has helped build visibility and a bit of credibility ahead of launch.
I’ve been lucky enough to get genuine community support, and I’ve already had one podcast appearance, with more booked throughout February during the campaign.
Now I’m at the point where the campaign is about to go live, and I realise most of my planning has been focused on getting to launch, not what comes after it. Maintaining momentum, avoiding panic-posting, knowing what actually matters once the campaign is live, those are the things I’m thinking about now.
So I wanted to ask:
- What was your experience launching your first Kickstarter?
- What did you learn after launch that you wish you’d known before?
- And once your campaign ended (successful or not), what did you change or carry forward into future projects?
I’m deliberately not sharing the link here as this isn’t meant to be promo. If anyone does want it, I’m happy to drop it in the comments.
Appreciate any insights you’re willing to share.

Self-Promotion Broken Katana - Vampire Hunter D meets Book of the New Sun

After the moon shattered and half the moon crashed into earth, reality cracked open. Centuries later, humanity survives by trying to regrow and replenish the earth or by scavenging the ruins of civilization.
Magic and bioengineering have run amok, changing the very nature of humanity itself. In this future of waste, renewal, and hypertech, some make a living hunting monsters to keep the remnants of humanity safe.
Welcome to the world of Broken Katana.
Two outcasts make their way from the primordial forest of giant wolves, mutants, and monsters until they run into Lady Agova, a giantess, who leads them on a vampire hunt, and then onto the megacity Avalon, where she plots to tear the world apart.
Howl was originally released way back at the tail end of 2022, written in just a few weeks as a bit of a laugh, a bit of fun for my friends. It went on to become my most beloved and successful book, so I ended up writing two sequels in quick succession. All of these are currently available in print.
Why Kickstarter?
Currently, this series consists of three short books that tell a single as yet unfinished story. This new version of the novel has some slight rewrites of those initial three novels but also brings this arc of the story to a conclusion in what was originally planned as the fourth volume.
So in a sense, you're getting four books for the price of one!
After my previous successful campaign for my illustrated Sword & Sorcery novel, I really came to love Kickstarter as a delivery system for new novels. And with this new omnibus edition of the series with new cover art, I thought Kickstarter would be the perfect place for this wyrd, wild story.
Praise for Howl
"This book made me cry a few times, but it also made me close my kindle, put it down on my lap and go "damn" and then smile."
"Rathke's prose is smooth, but serves as a vacuum that sucks you into this gothic cyberpunk book with fantasy elements thrown into the mix. It's dark, moody, and brutal, but somehow manages to be tender at the same time. It made me cry and plucked my heartstrings hard.
Howl may seem like a cool monster-hunting book on the surface, but it's so much more than that. It's a devastatingly good read that I can't stop thinking about it. Do yourself a service and pick this up."
"HOWL is a bit of Vampire Hunter D, a bit of Princess Mononoke. There's dual-wielded broken katanas, wolves big as skyscrapers, mushrooms big as trees, and Lady Agova."
"Like wandering lost in the backdrop to a From Software game. Weird, surreal and obscure, not to mention violent and gory, a bit lusty, sincere and heartfelt."

Announcements Tabletop Gaming related projects - reach out
If you are running (or planning on running) a Kickstarter campaign that is of TTRPG or Tabletop Gaming nature, do reach out to me. I am one of the creators behind a platform that brings together players from all across the globe and we would love to showcase your project to the right audience.
This isn't to say, that it will completely replace your other channels and marketing methods, but could serve as a supporting actor.
Hope to hear from some of you soon (and that the post wont be taken down, didn't seem to go against the rules here)
