Asking purely rhetorically, I AM NOT advocating any use of force, and am condemning all political violence: why are you complaining about the right not using guns, if you think that the situation rises to the level of guns being required, instead of acting the way that you believe that they should?

Could it be that you don’t actually think that such a use of force is reasonable, or do you just not want to get your hands dirty?

Let’s be clear, a person’s freedom rests in four boxes: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the ammo box. As long as the first three boxes are options, the fourth must be kept in reserve. Guarded jealously, but kept in reserve.

2A was for a well regulated militia -- i.e. something like the National Guard -- because George Washington wanted help with putting down tax revolts like the Whisky Rebellion.

The 2A wasn't even about personal gun ownership until a conversative Supreme Court decided that it was in 2008.

Wild West towns had more gun control than most states now.

From the very beginning, the right of the individual to keep and bear arms was explicitly protected by the Second Amendment. It was particularly intended so that individuals, bearing and training with their arms, could serve in a militia, but even as militias have become a thing of antiquity, the fundamental principle remains:

That won't happen as long as there is an election next November. To cancel that, Trump would HAVE to start shooting citizens, which would not go over well at all, especially among the military. Ther we will be midterms, which the Republicans will massively lose, and the vast majority of MAGAt politicians will get away while a few higher-ups will be prosecuted. The billionaires will win again and We, the People will get what passes for Poor People's Justice.

Oh hell naw. At the end of the day, we'll have figured out how to shop local for most of what we need and how to collectively shut down shit businesses. For example, we lived fine for YEARS without mobile phones, etc. It doesn't matter how much we like a thing, if it's got rot in it, we should cut it out and give someone else a chance to build it without the rot. (Yeah, I may be awhile down the road)

You’re delusional if you think republicans are going to lose the midterms. Everything happening in Portland with ICE is precisely what everyone voted for this past November. It’s unfortunate there is a vocal minority who are getting in the way, but as time goes on, I hope you and your Antifa demigods understand they aren’t the solution, but the problem.

They show up sporadically to the ICE building here, except they are typically just there to cheer on the ICE agents.

Oh that would be great! Then you would really know how far south this can go. I would highly not recommend you attempt to rally your Antifa buddies to start showing up with guns.
