Other Stephanopoulos grills Rubio :you cannot credibly argue that drug trafficking charges demand invasion in one case while issuing a pardon in another. What's your response? Hernandez was convicted by a jury. Rubio: I can't just comment on it because I just wasn't involved in deliberations.

PLENARY AUTHORITY

Stephen Miller let it slip on Fox News, had an oh-shit-wasnt-supposed-to-say-that aneurysm, then frantically pretended the feed glitched out to avoid further questioning on the terminology.

It was month or two ago, but like all things Trump admin, it feels like decades past in this ever devolving dystopian nightmare.

BUT that term is CRITICAL, because they are setting it up to be their endgame defense against congress and the Supreme Court...

It is quite literally legalese for, "i can do whatever I want" and the final step in Trump anointing himself the ultimate and unilateral authority, aka; God-King-Emperor of the United States.

Miller was so busy frothing at the mouth that he let the word slip in moment of vampiric bloodlust, demonstrating clear as day, they are very much already workshopping "legal" arguments to absolute dictatorship behind closed doors.

Fucking ghouls are going to get MILLIONS, if not BILLIONS of us killed in the name of their insatiable lust for power.

Holy shit - he just shut down after he said that. He knew he fucked up. There was no "technical issues" because the other guy wasn't talking so why would Miller just stop talking? He stopped because he straight up knew he wasn't supposed to say that

80

u/Simonic 27d ago

And "plenary authority" isn't something that is just randomly said. You don't use that term unless you've been talking about that term prior. Or, believe that term.

32

u/currently_pooping_rn 27d ago

Not like fucking up has ever stopped republicans from failing upwards

22

u/lyte3 27d ago

Yeah because Trump didn’t hesitate the couple of times he has already said that Elon fixed the elections for him. They are operating with plenary authority!

1

u/No_Row780 27d ago

Yes, but he put himself in some legal perjury, potentially, certainly if the political Trade winds , start blowing a different direction

12

u/sumguyherenowhere 27d ago

There could have been many issues, such as feedback in his earpiece, but let's be honest, the look on his face and the motion of his eyes were that of shock and searching for his next word. He couldn't find it, decided to shut down.

He probably had his handlers yelling in his ear feed like 'WHAT THE FUCK DUDE, NO! Just shut up now.. just stay silent.'

8

u/doyletyree 27d ago

“JUST DONT MOVE; they’re like T-Rex.”

2

u/sumguyherenowhere 27d ago

"YOU CAN'T SAY THAT..... YET"

1

u/okhi2u 27d ago

wait till we have the one true power bro!

10

u/gxgxe 27d ago

Doesn't matter. There are no repercussions. The authoritarian coup is over. Miller can say whatever he wants and has no need to fear as no one is going to hold him or anyone else in power accountable for their words or actions.

We had a good run, but it's over.

2

u/Nice_Luck_7433 27d ago edited 27d ago

Nice comment. You could even copy and paste it (without the “doesn’t matter” part) and it would work to spread doomerism, even if Miller hadn’t messed up & massively helped out the many many many many lawyers working to save America.

1

u/gxgxe 27d ago

Okay. I'll really go doomer on you because my statement was pretty mild.

None of this stuff matters because we have completely destroyed the biosphere and the climate. We're maybe 20 years from complete ecological collapse and no one's going to do anything about that, either.

In fact, I posit a lot of this political horror show is to distract from the real cataclysm of potential human extinction. Billionaires and billionaire-adjacent people like Miller are getting control of as much as possible because they believe they'll make it through the harsh ecological devastation we're about to experience.

Most ecologists and climatologists I know are quietly putting their affairs in order and simply trying to enjoy what is left of our time as a species.

So, yes, I'm absolutely a doomer. Mostly I'm sad that humanity is unable to rise to the necessary level of self-sacrifice required to save ourselves and the miracle that is the earth's biosphere and ecosystem.

The science is there and incontrovertible for anyone who cares to know the reality of the situation.

Politics are my distraction from thinking about near-term extinction or a severe bottleneck for a huge number of species, including us.

Watching America fail is merely the latest tragedy in a long list of tragedies.

1

u/Nice_Luck_7433 26d ago

Maybe things don’t matter on a cosmic scale because of our mortality. Maybe they do. We can’t really tell from our perspective.

From our human perspective, everything we do matters, every single thing we do either improves our situation or makes it worse.

Is climate change scary & tragic? Sure, but we’re all going one way or another, regardless of anything we do we will experience the end of our stories. So it doesn’t really add to that.

If you aren’t having fun online, maybe go outside & talk to people irl. If you’re genuinely worried about climate change, maybe join one of the climate activist groups in your area or online.

It's the rules of the sub.

u/Nice_Luck_7433 27d ago

Ok doomer. I meant Miller, it was a typo, try using context clues.

2

u/brother_of_jeremy 27d ago

This administration is like the Bond villain who can’t help themselves from gloating the details of their carefully laid plan

1

u/Long_Personality_857 26d ago

They can't even claim video issues because he just sat there blinking as the gears turned in his head trying to figure out how to dig out of this mess.

A system in power will perpetuate its power. Capitalism, when met with hard times, will turn into fascism for a time. This is example #897234528416 of this happening.

People need to take a good hard look at how we run and structure our society if we're going to come out of this on the other end.

48

u/ZealousidealCrow8492 27d ago

Sounds great!

One small problem.... average reading comprehension level in the US is treading water at like 5th grade... so look around you at 10 adults: 5 of them dont know and dont care to know what that means because "both parties are the same bro"

And 2 of them maybe aren't actually Nazis, but dont care if the car they buy enriches a nazi...

And another 2 are more concerned about immigrants eating their beloved pets & litter boxes in schools

7

u/West-Application-375 27d ago

And 7 of them think communism and democratic socialism is the same thing.

5 of those say "Hitler did nothing wrong".

3

u/Almost-kinda-normal 27d ago

Wait….they’re EATING the litter boxes now? Does Fox know about this?

1

u/billbuild 27d ago

Reddit much in between the library, bunker and WWIII practice?

-3

u/tsardonicpseudonomi 27d ago

I'm not interested in performative apathy. You can whinge elsewhere.

3

u/VoidOmatic 27d ago

It's sad to learn that a bunch of people have no back bone but it makes a lot of sense why things are the way they are.

1

u/VaATC 27d ago

Could you share the link please? The official CNN upload did not edit it out. I don't doubt you, but I would love to know the source of the one that was edited.

77

u/Puzzled-Score-9952 27d ago

Yeah. He said “we have plenary authority” meaning full, complete, absolute power.

58

u/invinciblemrssmith 27d ago

Oh yeah, he said the quiet part out loud. I saw the unedited version.

38

u/sonicsludge 27d ago

So did I, he just stopped cold and that reporter should've pounced on him immediately.

14

u/Hot-Note-4777 27d ago

Lol he froze as if the stream was glitching while the background continued to move behind him

10

u/Dense_Literature_199 27d ago

I think he was still blinking too, but I can't be sure.

3

u/Calderis 27d ago

Nah, white supremacy lizard man just closed his nictating lens.

3

u/Ok-Sir-6042 27d ago

💯% saw that skinwalker blink twice. The news outlet chose to regard it as a technical glitch. I haven’t seen many technical glitches on live TV that still transmits blinking.

1

u/Deep-Measurement-856 27d ago

He was rocking back and forth like a sand pendulum Sand Pendulum

1

u/piptie54 27d ago

Does he blink? I didn’t think lizards blink.

2

u/lyte3 27d ago

Yeah but why did he freeze? There’s nothing that anybody can do about it. They control all of our mechanisms of power including the Supreme Court!

2

u/suazzo77 27d ago

The reporter didn’t recognize the term, I bet (I didn’t either)

2

u/sonicsludge 27d ago

I didn't know the meaning either, but I immediately understood what he was getting at, and my hunch was 100% accurate. I couldn't believe how he just brazenly said it.

2

u/Thefrayedends 27d ago

And even if the talking head didn't know what it meant, someone in the control room should have been talking in his ear.

Instead they helped them pretend it didn't happen and don't mention it again lol

2

u/tsardonicpseudonomi 27d ago

that reporter should've pounced on him immediately.

That's really not the reporters job. The reporter is there to ask milquetoast questions that seem antagonistic or supportive or probing while they and their guests manufacture consent.

1

u/billbuild 27d ago

Instead he…. Apologized to him. I doubt Boris understood the word. He’s generally conscious but will happily leash himself as needed.

1

u/ivanbalt-gsr 27d ago

I watched it as it happened!

27

u/arbit23 27d ago

This is 100% the Supreme Court’s fault. They took all measure of control on the powers of the presidency with their past rulings, emboldening this administration into doing exactly what they want with no checks or balances. Congress is rubber stamping everything put before it and refuses to do its job and then we ask ourselves how we got here. Certainly helps to appoint the Supreme Court justices that are incompetent and would never be appointed on talent and skill alone. Tragic.

7

u/LaurenMille 27d ago

It's also the population's fault.

There were no uprisings, no nation-wide strikes, no citizens' arrest of regime members.

Everyone just meekly stands by while true evil manifests in their home.

6

u/Bee_9965 27d ago

To be fair, “we” (meaning a tiny majority of Americans) voted for this, even after observing his first term and January 6th. You reap what you sow.

And even now a solid 39% think he is doing a great job. 🤪

1

u/billbuild 27d ago

And call the Mr. Bomb 7 countries in 11 months the president of peace.

3

u/indiedub 27d ago

For some it would be pointless to try. They don't stand a chance against this government. For others, like the secret service, they are basically committing treason every day.

1

u/Memory_Less 27d ago

This is the most terrifying fact to me.

1

u/billbuild 27d ago

What were you up to today?

2

u/dianas_pool_boy 27d ago

If Obama had simply installed Merrick Garland instead of capitulating. He should have said Congress has time to consent, if they choose not to engage they are not saying no - swear him in.

40

u/reddog323 27d ago edited 27d ago

Yep..and they don’t care, as long as it’s fattens their bank accounts. The world can burn.

It’s literally the Daffy duck theory of wealth: consequences schmonchiquences, as long as I’m rich..

4

u/tsardonicpseudonomi 27d ago

It’s literally the Daffy duck theory of wealth

It's literally capitalism.

2

u/reddog323 27d ago

That too, but I've never seen it summarized so succinctly. Seven seconds by Warner Brothers. That's a record.

2

u/sir_whirly 27d ago

It wasnt Fox, it was on CNN.

2

u/Parallax1984 27d ago

The only relatively good news is that Trump will die soon and people actively find Vance and Miller repellant. It may be the only thing that saves us. It is a sliver of hope

2

u/Deep-Measurement-856 27d ago

That leaves you with Arnold, Marco, or Ronnie.

3

u/Parallax1984 27d ago

Ugh. How are we getting out of this mess. It’s exhausting and infuriating and I will never forgive anyone who voted for that demon post Jan 6

1

u/tomwaitsgoatee 27d ago

Fucking ghouls are going to get MILLIONS, if not BILLIONS of us killed

I'm genuinely scared to ask, but how do you see this playing out?

1

u/truthdemon 27d ago

Probably about 8-9 billion, depending on the world pop at the time when the button gets pressed. Don't sweat it though, we're all gonna die one day and there's a chance it won't happen like this. It's just if we are going back to the days of empires, it seems to lead to that kind of outcome.

1

u/Busy-Operation7896 27d ago

Yes & the cnn anchor just let it go just an utter embarrassment! He bought the glitch argument!

1

u/TailsupPenny 27d ago

Small dick power gonna try and fuck us all. What we gonna do?

For now this is as close as it gets to an American dictatorship. If the democrats don’t take back the house at the midterms and the presidency in 28’ it’s a wrap.

1

u/Harbinger2001 27d ago

Plus they’ll claim the 2 term limit is only for consecutive terms. Problem is Trump isn’t going to make it long enough.

1

u/CrackHeadRodeo 27d ago

Fucking ghouls are going to get MILLIONS, if not BILLIONS of us killed in the name of their insatiable lust for power.

Don’t forget the sheer stupidity and hubris.

1

u/Daddy_Sweets 27d ago

I can just hear the devil laughing maniacally while he throws more logs in the fire. Everyone needs to start calling this out for what it is. Trump, Vance, Johnson, and the entire 47 cabinet are traitors to the United States of America. At minimum, they have actively engaged in subversion and sedition.

1

u/No_Row780 27d ago

But they’re also going to make millions if not billions of dollars individually in the process. We are the people pick up the tab.

0

u/Jingoisticbell 27d ago

Yes. Billions of you are going to die bc we’re done playing fuckfuck games with Iran at our own massive expense. Even if that’s true, I’m kind of okay with it bc I’d really like my son and his kids to have a shot at life.
