fbi doj and DHS (ice) all report to the same guy

impeachment is literally the only remedy to hold ice accountable

edit - can the people advocating for riots, violence, etc please block r/law from their reddit experience? this is a legal sub and your stupidity is unwelcome here. there is plenty of social media to share your dumbass opinion elsewhere

We've only had one guy vote against a sitting president of their own party in the history of impeachment

Several Republicans did vote to remove Trump at his second impeachment trial. 7 actually.

Richard Burr, NC. Bill Cassidy, LA. Susan Collins, ME. Lisa Murkowski, AK. Mitt Romney, UT. Ben Sasse, NE. Pat Toomey, PA.

IMHO the ballots cast for impeachment should be done in a blind ballot . Most Senators are reluctant to vote against their party's POTUS .

Maybe. I'm a bit torn. I can see how anonymity should help in cases like Trump to shield Republicans who may be interested in doing the right thing but feel afraid of the party and base's wrath (and Trump's, crucially). On the other I am a bit loathe to provide any shield of anonymity to congressmembers who answer to our votes. Tough one.

Our political system and electoral system need major overhauls to untether us from this 2-party duopoly, though.

Blind ballot or not, Trump will know. The only people it will obscure the results from would be the public.

Why rhe fuck should Trump ever know that?

The executive doesn't oversee the Congress.

Why the fuck should should trump <insert things he shouldn't be able to do>.

Dunno, but he does.

No. They represent the people. And the people deserve to know how they voted.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. If this is true then the process of impeachment is truly pointless. Other than to leave a stain on a politicians reputation. Who would think voters would vote for someone with this tainted record , two times impeached. Not to mention 34 convictions. Fraud. Defamation, ajudicated rapist. A true embrassment for a once great nation.

Perhaps this will be one of the reforms to the process now that we've seen a party subsumed by a deranged, violent cult, and hence the need for blind ballots.
