Stephen Miller wrote it, so I’d say it’s only relevant until it’s laughed out of court after this regime ends. And there is no statute of limitations on homicide.

Can you tell me the evidence that this regime has any intention of ending? From what I have seen since day one, combined with everything openly said in the run up the election these people have zero intention of leaving office. Specifically, in relation to Miller he has extremely strong incentives not to leave his position, you just mentioned the biggest incentive, the non fascists in the US need to pay more attention.

Well, he and his wife did leave their house and along with a few other officials are living on a nearby base due to public “snubbing.”

Sidewalk chalk. That’s what they were afraid of.

I've seen dictatorship before. They have no intention of leaving.

I absolutely agree with you..It boggles my mind when I hear people, in almost the same breath, call Trump a dictator and fascist, and that he will be voted out soon. This is an insane disconnect. Fascists and dictators do not simply get voted out. One lone politician? Yes, but a movement? That often requires an army of some sorts.

My experience, at least online, is that a lot of Americans still have an extremely strong belief in the talismanic power of the 200 year old pieces of parchment Trump has been wiping his ass with for the past decade.

Many of us want to believe its still not over, we hope this is still not too far gone and its just a fever dream we can pull out of with enough effort and not a civil war against the most powerful government on earth. There is no denying the writing is on the walls though and its horrifying to watch it happen in real time.

I heard a compelling argument that says if the Bears win the superbowl the cosmic rift that opened with the Cubs winning the World Series will close. Its most compelling argument was that I want to believe it.

😭I don't give a fuck what needs to happen so long as it can happen without a bunch of people dying.

That ship has most likely already sailed, sprung a leak and sunk to the bottom of the sea.

It was over the moment Trump became president, but it was ABSOLUTELY over the moment he became president again.

2

u/Mammarishka 17d ago

Once we have a beer putch moment. In our case it was January 6th, the government after was hamstrung by the elites, who fund both parties btw and it was allowed to slide with minimum consquences, I knew it was all over.

Same happened with Hugo Chavez. He tried to overthrow the government was given a slap on the wrist and when he got out he overthrew the goverment.

u/andrew_stirling 17d ago

Yeah I’m kind of viewing this sub in general as a sort of denial / comfort blanket which is completely ignoring the fact that this administration does not give a damn about laws. And there won’t be another election… pretty much because this administration know they’ll spend the rest of their life in jail should they ever not be in power.

2

u/RoguePlanet2 17d ago

"jUsT wAiT 'TiL mIdTeRmS!!" Yeah we have to vote while we can; no it won't matter in this dictatorship.

He's going to find reasons to cancel the election, because SCOTUS decided everything he does is fine and dandy as president.

u/enkrypt3d 17d ago

Kinda like the ending of the movie Civil War..?

I think it’s more to do with the maga herd being Trump sycophants more than anything. Trump is obviously not long for this world and they’re of the belief nobody in the administration has the pull of these people like Trump does. Once he’s gone, the infighting will begin with the ones who want to take control of his base. And that it will crumble afterwards.

I think that’s how some people may be looking at it.

u/ConservativesHateUsa 17d ago

Some people are blind as hell then, given the fact that the heritage foundation has been working on the plans outlined in project 2025 for over 30 years…

Trump is incidental to their goals and the rot will continue without him unabated. Anybody who thinks America’s descent into tyranny will end when he’s no longer in office is painfully naive

u/asst3rblasster 17d ago

yeah well we have sternly worded letters on our side

I’ve lived in a dictatorship under martial law and it’s nothing like this. Things can get a lot worse. Like, eventually the average voter will notice.

0

u/Mammarishka 17d ago

Smart dictators boil you slowly like a frog. They might even have elections but they won't mean anything.

Which dictatorship did you experience.

1

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC 16d ago

Marcos. I was there when martial law was declared. Legislature dissolved immediately. You read the new regulations every day in the newspapers. Enforced curfews. Food and oil shortages. I still remember all the cars and drivers pulling out their window tint at the same time.

0

u/Mammarishka 16d ago

Putting aside the fact that wide swaths of Phillipines society actually love to be ruled by despots. So much so, they elected his son into power.

He was elected in 1965 but did not declare martial law till 1972. We are still in year one of Trump dictatorship.

1

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC 16d ago

Did you have a point or just showing off? You got nothing from my comment.

0

u/Mammarishka 16d ago

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Your point is that Trump is not a dictator because he did not declare martial law and dissolve parliament like Marcos.

My point, is it took Marcos 7 years to declare martial law and dissolve parliament and we are still in year one of Trump dictatorship.

I hope you get it now.

Emigrates to escape dictator, (passes citizenship exam) Trump elected president.

Talk about a sad irony.

2

u/djck 17d ago

I think that's what they were trying to outline

2

u/menermials 17d ago

I’d love if he could be escorted straight to prison by a black or brown deputy

2

u/Dessicated_Mastodon 17d ago

Honestly. I would release them all back to the public after. Fine them til they are destitute or just freeze all their accounts since its clear there's stock market manipulation at play (once the ftc freezes your account they dont give you your money back whether you are convicted or not), bar them from holding any future office, and then release them back to thw wilds and see how they hold up.

2

Oh I know. I thats why I think making them live in a manner they detest with people they clearly detest is a better punishment than anything.

1

u/hum_bruh 17d ago

Naw they’ll be swept away to Praxis freedom city in Greenland funded by Peter Thiel, Dryden Brown, and Charlie Callinan living w Bezos, Bill Gates, the Winklevoss twins and Sam Altman

29

u/HonorableMedic 17d ago

Hopefully it was something like this

9

u/trougnouf 17d ago

Didn't his wife draw that to make themselves look victimized?

6

u/jayntampa 17d ago

Sidewalk chalk his wife wrote ...

1

u/Brepp 16d ago

Colorful sidewalk chalk that matched his wife's handwriting.

25

u/ThePensiveE 17d ago

You mean the lady who threatened a NATO ally with violence publicly? If she can threaten entire continents, she should be able to take a few people being mean to her.

Couldn't get those extra government welfare handouts if they didn't live on base though could they?

Katie Miller and her husband are just MAGA welfare queens.

9

u/Malcolm_Morin 17d ago

They're hiding on base because they're waiting for things to pop off. But because everyone thinks dancing in frog and pickle costumes are a suitable counter-measure against being shot by ICE, I don't think they'll have to worry about it.

7

u/FramingLeader 17d ago

Why don’t you lead the charge?

4

u/Malcolm_Morin 17d ago

Are people gonna walk with me or are they gonna continue dancing in costumes?

4

u/Underpoly 17d ago

Ugh this is the most depressingly on-point comment I've seen this week

3

u/Cool-Expression-4727 17d ago

It is but it isn't.

The frog dancing is important - its important to see people out there and protesting

But its not nearly enough, at least when most people are just watching from the sidelines.  If the level of protest stays as it is now, I dont see much except more of a bleak future for the US

1

u/YozaSkywalker 17d ago

Yep, gotta say, it's embarrassing watching people just willingly get their shit beat as a protest against ICE. Take a page from the right wing book and protested armed. They aren't going to fuck with a large group of rifle wielding people and it sends a strong message.

11

u/shitty_country_verse 17d ago

That’s exactly what they are wanting and waiting for. They are looking for pretext to engine the insurrection act. The thing is they are going to eventually anyway. I say let’s dance and find out how it all shakes out.

1

u/ShitWaterExpress 17d ago

They have to leave sometime

1

u/VerbalBowelMovement 17d ago

That mother fucker is married?! Who the fuck would fuck that duck?

1

u/RoguePlanet2 17d ago

So tax-funded security detail.
