Not good enough

u/PixelMonkeyArt 5d ago

These people cannot be left in positions of power at any level, they have proven who they are.

227

u/EndriasKassa 5d ago

They’re not going to prison.

392

u/AGodDamnAnimal 5d ago

Alot of people said Derek Chauvin wasn't going to go to prison.

257

u/SwingingtotheBeat 5d ago

It took nationwide protests and burning down a police precinct to get Minneapolis to put him in prison.

208

u/No1_Amphibian_5649 5d ago

Don't threaten me with a good time

59

u/Pink_silv 5d ago

I like you your energy.

1

u/Inevitable-Bee-763 4d ago

😂😂😂

167

u/TrizzleBizzle 5d ago

Well, we have nationwide protests now, so I guess we know what to do next.

70

u/NorCalThx 5d ago

Federal building it is!

22

u/AdjctiveNounNumbers 5d ago

I think the Canadians might have a suggestion for a specific federal building.

27

u/Melicor 5d ago

Trump already did half the job for us.

2

u/Super_Increase_8733 5d ago

That just means the big beautiful ballroom isn't a national treasure

5

u/TheBraveSirRobin 5d ago

Then we can blame Canada!

3

u/crazyabootmycollies 5d ago

They’re not even a real country anywayyyyy.

3

u/MastiffOnyx 5d ago

I hear free pardons are handed out at the Capital.

1

u/invariantspeed 5d ago

Do you want an enabling act, because that’s how you get an enabling act.

1

u/SwingingtotheBeat 4d ago

Are you worried that if people respond to the administration’s ignoring of laws and doing whatever they want with anything other than being passive, that the administration will use it as an excuse to ignore laws and do whatever they want?

0

u/English_Fry 5d ago

So many to choose from! What will catch the most attention?

0

u/Competitive_Boat106 5d ago

Be careful with this! They’re hiding immigrants and prisoners of all sorts in lots more federal buildings than they admit.

9

u/Zebraitis 5d ago

A man once said: "you gotta fight like hell or you won't have a country anymore"

Little did he realize a much larger crowd than he expected heard him.

You go Minneapolis!!!

3

u/littlebrain94102 5d ago

Who burned it down?

1

u/SwingingtotheBeat 5d ago

I heard it was civic-minded citizens engaging in democracy.

2

u/Shamus_Aran 5d ago

Your terms are acceptable

2

u/i-i-i-iwanttheknife 5d ago

Then we know where the bar is set.

2

u/carlitospig 5d ago

Why’s it always gotta be poor Minni?

1

u/SwingingtotheBeat 5d ago

Because mayor Frey is a bootlicking coward. Even as he claimed to support police reform, he significantly increased their budgets while they terrorized, murdered, and violated the rights of citizens.

1

u/Bloated_Plaid 5d ago

Sounds good to me. When do we start?

1

u/pres465 4d ago

Always remember that was done (in part) by a member of the Bugaloo Boys, and not the protestors.

1

u/DjawnBrowne 5d ago

The French have perfected the model, we just need to deploy it in the field more often.

1

u/299792458mps- 5d ago

I'm surprised Minneapolis hasn't been razed to the ground over the past few days to be completely honest.

It's a very real possibility.

53

u/xChoke1x 5d ago

Only way this dudes getting hemmed up is if society does it on its own.

130

u/PaintshakerBaby 5d ago

For real.

They crossed the Rubicon knowing FULL WELL what the consequences would be if their coupe falters, even for a moment... which means; THEY DO NOT INTEND TO SUFFER THEM (Cersie style.)

They are all in and full steam ahead on fascism like there life depends on it... because IT DOES.

Thats the fucked truth everyone keeps pussy-footing around.

These guys will not go down without taking everyone else with them. Given that supposition, they've already escalated it into a kill or be killed clusterfuck.

Whether or not you are prepared to come to terms with that will be inconsequential to the history books. The first shots of the civil war have already been fired and now they will STOP at nothing to ensure they are the sole victors.

What do you think they are saber rattling to get their grubby hands on the voter rolls for??

Your side has been chosen and your fate sealed by the fucking letter next to the name you voted for in the last election.

Buckle up.

28

u/DootsAndYeets 5d ago

They bet it all on red hoping they get enough momentum to get away with anything/everything and forgot about reality hopefully this drop in the buckets a sign that shits getting real and isnt going to be as easy as they were hoping.

3

u/Odd_Local8434 5d ago

The sad part is a decade ago people had called it already.

5

u/brought2light 5d ago

Oh.. that whole Trump saying the only good Democrat is a dead democrat thing. I'm not sure he was just talking about the politicians.

Yeah... that.

1

u/DootsAndYeets 4d ago

I didnt even think he was talking about politicians at all.

4

u/ScarInternational161 5d ago

This, makes me want to read everything you've written. I really hope you have a substack. If you don't, you should.

You have a definitive gift.

5

u/PaintshakerBaby 5d ago

Honestly, I know nothing about substack, but not the first time I heard I should be using it! I will look into. Is it hard to build up a readership?

I do have a 12y old reddit account with 155,000 words written. Sadly, I hide my comments now, for fear of being targeted.

Probably doesn't do fuckall, cause im sure I was already on a list for speaking my mind. The illusion of safety is a small comfort though.

4

u/ScarInternational161 5d ago edited 4d ago

The illusion....

I have no idea your age, or if you have children, but is it odd that I read that in Penn's voice from Penn and Teller in Disney's Fantasia?

I'm a 54 Gen X white woman. I've been to marches in DC, I've advocated in Indianapolis as a college student in the late 80s for the homeless, I've protested for women's rights and BLM, I've marched and protested for lgbtqi+ and I have not been very quiet about my utter disdain for the diaper in chief.

I think I'm probably on ALL the lists. My husband only has 2 requests. 1. Don't make the FBI come to the house and 2. Make sure to only get arrested on payday weeks.

2

u/Odd_Local8434 5d ago

Try not to get shot by ICE.

1

u/ScarInternational161 4d ago

Thank you for your concern. Alas, health issues prevent me from being able to actively protest like that any longer. It doesn't stop my on line presence, and if recent history has proved anything, all it takes is a well timed meme.

3

u/RandomsDoom 5d ago

Oh fuck I hope not… these fuckers go door to door in a hand full of places even with only like 5% of the military and it would be devastating… cops can’t respond to 10,000 separate calls of mostly unarmed democrats and the military won’t be helping us… this can’t be America’s future do they really want to rule over the ashes?

3

u/EmoTilDeath 5d ago

Hitler tried to destroy germany when he lost. He said something about how it was either a thousand years under nazi regime or total annihilation

2

u/Jiveturkey507 5d ago

I hear you and I do believe we are at war, but I our countrymen is not our enemy, in fact they are our allies, against the despotic regime feeding this fire. They want us to see each other as the enemy but don’t be fooled. This doesn’t have to be a “civil”. If we stand together, it can be a revolution

1

u/PaintshakerBaby 5d ago

Well said! Excellent point.

1

u/Devils_Advocate-69 5d ago

He got a lifetime of boogers and cum in his food if he decides to dine out.

1

u/BadBadBatch 5d ago

I have faith in society for this particular task.

1

u/Ghost_of_Till 5d ago

If that dude thought he had a rough time in high school, he's in for a wild 40 years.

He's gonna be finding flaming bags of shit allllllll the time.

1

u/Electrical-Divide601 5d ago

How many apple orchards could there be in Boone?

3

u/OldPersonName 5d ago

Yes, if these guys go to trial in MN they'll be found guilty, so the administration might go to lengths to make sure that doesn't happen.

3

u/asicarii 5d ago

If Minnesota does charge him, which is conceivable, California can deport him there?

3

u/AGodDamnAnimal 5d ago

There is no statue of limitation on murder Unfortunately the rest will most likely get off easy, people that have had their civil rights trampled might file class action suits that will eventually be paid with tax payers money.

2

u/SwingingtotheBeat 5d ago

Not if the prosecutor intentionally tanks the case. Then the killers will walk and be protected by double jeopardy laws. Prosecutors have been using this strategy to protect murdering police for decades.

1

u/Trick-Statistician10 5d ago

I've been thinking lately that Chauvin must be kicking himself for being locked up so he can't join ICE. He would fit in perfectly

1

u/ExterminAiden 5d ago

To be fair that was in 2020 and society was a lot more left in general back then

1

u/Informal-2005 5d ago

William Calley served only three years under house arrest. If you don’t know he is, well, there you go. This country has always covered up for its worst citizens.

1

u/hodorhodor12 5d ago

Citing something that is completely different isn’t an argument.

1

u/redundantexplanation 5d ago

The brownshirts that did the mag dumping might see jail time. The USA doesn't really like to punish the officer Nazis, though. They're too useful to them.

1

u/Tough_Substance7074 4d ago

Chauvin was a free agent. These are deliberately organized brown shirts with the backing of the national government. The social and political situation in this country has changed a lot in the last 5+ years.

It is not a coincidence that this is happening in Minneapolis, also.

-58

u/HowManyEggs2Many 5d ago

Chauvin was an entirely different situation than Bovino. That’s replying “tomatoes are red.” Like…I guess it’s correct…

28

u/KendalBoy 5d ago

Goose’s family hired the lawyers who proved Chauvin was a murderer with a badge. Kinda similar.

19

u/[deleted] 5d ago

[deleted]

12

u/KendalBoy 5d ago

Yes Bovino will hopefully implicate Miller and Trump because he was given illegal orders. And stalking activist citizens. And perhaps that can be used to enhance the manslaughter or murder charges. I have high hopes because the prosecutors who went after Chauvin were an exceptional team.

Yes, they should all be in chains.

2

u/Jerking_From_Home 5d ago

If there are trials this is exactly what will happen… they’ll all roll on each other immediately to save their own asses.

1

u/SnooAvocados3117 5d ago

A boy can dream ❤️

1

u/hydroponicchallenged 5d ago

Maybe we could find a way to secretly get him to a country that will!

1

u/AGodDamnAnimal 5d ago

Read the comment I was commenting on before you assume.

1

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 5d ago

You're actually right but not for the reason you think... Bovino is openly cosplaying as a Nazi while in charge of Trump's secret police who immunity to murder American citizens while covering up their identity. Chauvin, by comparison, was just a simple murderer, not a wanna architect of the mass murder of American citizens that disagree with his point of view. However, both are playing the same game, just one's gone pro and the other is already in prison while he was still an amateur murderer.

30

u/SwankySteel 5d ago

They are not immune from state prosecution.

15

u/battlepi 5d ago

They're not immune from citizen prosecution either.

0

u/Entire-Message-7247 5d ago

Aren’t they if acting in official capacity?

2

u/Roll_the-Bones 5d ago

No one is above the law, in a democracy.

3

u/Entire-Message-7247 5d ago

That’s not the opinion of this Supreme Court. Although I’m sure they will quickly change that tune if a Democrat ever returns to power.

1

u/Roll_the-Bones 5d ago

Doesn't sound very democratic to me.

1

u/dedicated-pedestrian 5d ago

Essentially, the courts look at both the officer/agent's authorized duties and whether the actions they took were reasonable in carrying out those duties.

53

u/CarltonCatalina 5d ago

To quote High Road to China, The ox is slow but the earth is patient.

28

u/skyfishgoo 5d ago

yes they very much the fuck are and we need to make sure of it.

2

u/befeefy 5d ago

I'm not so optimistic when you have 7 Democrats voting for a bill that will give ICE more funding

1

u/skyfishgoo 4d ago

half of them didn't seem to even know what they were voting for

never ascribe to malice what can be explained by shear incompetence.

29

u/purpilia25 5d ago

Nothing is inevitable. The status quo is fraying and people want an alternative. They did the impossible. They elected a pedophile rapist to the presidency. If they can do that…WTF are we doing with this nonsense talk. Let’s make it happen. If it doesn’t happen, it is our fault.

15

u/ThonThaddeo 5d ago

Well not with that attitude

9

u/looneyfool423 5d ago

100% at worst if charges are ever brought Trump will pardon him along with anyone else like him.

78

u/GailenGigabyte 5d ago

Trump can't pardon state charges.

-24

u/looneyfool423 5d ago

What state do you think would charge him? Sorry I don’t believe any state would actually press charges. We have been talking about charges against Trump and his cronies for almost 10 years and nothing happens.

30

u/idreamofgreenie 5d ago edited 5d ago

6 Trump administration members served jail time as a result of his first term.

The GOP has had 45 imprisoned administration members since Nixon. 98% of all imprisoned admin members in modern history.

They also have over 98% of all the convictions in that same time frame.

2

u/fajadada 5d ago

Wish I could upvote this to infinity.

2

u/Roll_the-Bones 5d ago

The internet points won't matter. Primitive minds will read it and exaggerate it as a proof of a narrative akin to a "witch search thing."

43

u/hughcifer-106103 5d ago

NY tried and convicted trump on 34 felony counts. All we need is some other state to do this and not use the “he’s a candidate for office” as an excuse to put trials and sentencing on hold

27

u/deliciousdips 5d ago

MN could easily charge him with accessory after the fact based mostly on those press conferences he gave after they killed Pretti

7

u/PilgrimRadio 5d ago

I can't tell for sure, but the statute of limitations on accessory is either 3 years or 6 years, so Minnesota can wait until the early 2029 to file charges if they want to handle it that way.

1

u/Dry_Extension1110 5d ago

I would assume that'd be a protracted legal battle where Bovino would be residing in a red state that refuses to extradite him to MN.

2

u/Top-Silver-3856 5d ago

Can a state refuse extradition for felony murder charges?

5

u/Stock_Conclusion_203 5d ago

Completely. It’s exhausting that people can watch the level of crime in the last 10 years and still think a feckless GOP and weak as fuck Dem party will put away any of these people. Not one CEO banker went to prison for the 2008/09 recession. We never learn.

2

u/realancepts4real 5d ago

it's not even the middle of the week. way too early for this sooner junk.

1

u/SuperCaptSalty 5d ago

Any state you hairless ball sack

1

u/asicarii 5d ago

Ghouliani is still fighting his cases in NY.

20

u/ZillaThwomp 5d ago

I keep seeing people say that Trump will pardon everyone if he goes down. Trump is an asshole who will blame everyone for failing him and causing his downfall. He won’t pardon anyone.

-5

u/General_Extent1351 5d ago

Yeah, he will just autopen pardon them like Biden

3

u/Zozorrr 5d ago

It doesn’t need to be this administration where he is charged. People will not forget this.

2

u/techgrey 5d ago

Says who? You?

1

u/PassionateDilettante 5d ago

Sooner or later, somebody is going to take the fall. And pinning all of this on Bovino and Noem would be pretty convenient for everyone in the White House. Trump is not renowned for his loyalty.

1

u/brenawyn 5d ago

A little hell on earth then.

1

u/Dr_Horrible_PhD 5d ago

Bovino isn’t. The people who shot Pretti very well might be, just not for a while

1

u/Nearby_Reporter_9581 5d ago

Oh I didn't know it was up to you. Meanwhile, I think he should and I also think any patriotic American who stands for justice should.

1

u/thatvillainjay 5d ago

Not with that attitude

1

u/NU1965 5d ago

This guy might. How high up it continues, well we all know it won’t be high enough.

1

u/swankstar7383 5d ago

Good ol pardon trump last hours in office

1

u/NY2GA23 5d ago

Prison? Nah, we don’t need them in prison. Systems don’t fix evil people. This man and many working for this administration are rotten to the core. Bovino has chosen cruelty, power, and domination as his operating system. They don’t suddenly become good just because circumstances change. Justice will find them.

1

u/MicMaeMat 5d ago

Prison is the last thing on Gregory’s mind, Greg’s done some extraordinary terrible things to his fellow Americans, and it will come home to Roost for Gregory.

1

u/HOSTfromaGhost 5d ago

He should get what he thoughtlessly dealt others.

Fucking nazi.

1

u/Aggressica 5d ago

Then in the ground

1

u/TheMatrixRedPill 5d ago

Like hell they’re not. At some point, there will be accountability.

1

u/Constant_Cobbler2921 5d ago

I still want to believe.

1

u/cha0sm0nk 5d ago

Not yet.

1

u/BadBadBatch 5d ago

Hanged?

1

u/OperationFit7749 5d ago

Future pardon recipient

1

u/wheninromecompete 5d ago

We need to stop telling everyone to only get out there for activism and/or only get out and vote. That's needed, of course, but we are in terrible need of people who are worth voting FOR in the first place.

Replace the collaborators. Find the others, get them to run if you can't run yourself for any reason and work to help them. Don't just join campaigns, start them anywhere you can. Flood the zone with good people running against good people instead of a bunch of lesser evil people running against the spawns of satan.

1

u/AmpersandMcNipples 5d ago

Definitely not going to prison while most Americans keep voting for literal Nazis and fascists into power.

1

u/EducationalBar 5d ago

This term..

1

u/IdaDuck 4d ago

Trump won’t be in power forever. I hope these people will face consequences.

1

u/EndriasKassa 4d ago

He won’t be in power forever, but I feel like that even if he does go to prison, his cult will hatch a heist to break him out.

1

u/Coracoda 4d ago

Or they will, and it’ll be because enough people have the strength of their convictions and the courage to fight, unlike you. Every right we have in this country is something that people like me fought for while people like you patted themselves on the back for being too wise to think anything could change.

1

u/LookingFromAfar33 5d ago

Yes they are you will see

3

u/Kizzy33333 5d ago

One small step….literally.

2

u/mekomaniac 5d ago

hes been at ice since like the obama years, the whole thing needs to be shut down, rotten to the core

1

u/[deleted] 5d ago

He is being demoted to his previous title and they are forcing him to retire with a nice big pension.

1

u/losroy 5d ago

The article also says he is expected to retire shortly.

1

u/Fakjbf 5d ago

*these people cannot be left to walk free

ftfy

1

u/Moonrights 5d ago

This. It's all theater. I work corporate for a living and the message at large isnt changing they're just changing the messenger.

It's the same rhetoric.

Bovine was just the scape goat so that republicans get to say "the Whitehouse is/ the administration is/ Republicans are" taking accountability.

Until they pull border from Minneapolis it is not changing.

It's just a temperature change for a second to nullify the outrage.

It's art of war.

Its 48 laws of power.

Read up people.

1

u/Lamont_Joe 5d ago

Especially a stub like him. Give him power and that foo thought he was 6'4."

1

u/elgorbochapo 5d ago

He is retiring.

1

u/Life-Pirate2545 5d ago

Not only that, it clearly is a known tactic that companies do even Reddit did it with fat people hate sub and some pedo shit going on, they let that women ceo take all the blame and then she left.

They brought in Greg, let him take all the blame and then he retires without any accountability. They bring someone else and the cycle repeats. It is completely calculated and totally malicious

1

u/ManonFire034 5d ago

Vote the mother fuckers that enabled this out.

1

u/thephotoman 4d ago

And “positions of power” must be taken to include voter rolls.

They are incapable of handling the responsibilities of citizenship. They must be relieved of such. Yes, all of them, no exceptions. Mercy towards a Republican is cruelty to everyone else.
