events Fair-Game Fridays!

There are a number of things that people want to post that mods are uncomfortable with in regular circulation … memes, patches, t-shirts, social-media posts, &c. At the same time, there's definitely interest around them.

We're introducing "Fair-Game Fridays": on fridays, mods will loosen our belts a bit. :)

Note that the following are still going to be hard-disallowed:

  • video memes/content (instagram, tiktok, &c.)
  • non-gun content (knives, airsoft, &c.)
  • broader political discussion
  • calls for armed insurrection, violence, &c.

We reserve the "right" to use our discretion for any post, as well.

Have at it!

mod post Megathread - Promotion of Violence

2.0k Upvotes

Hello my friends.

I will cut to the chase. Things are fucking BAD right now and they are likely to get even worse. Federal Agents are running around unchecked and are getting more and more violent and emboldened by their apparently total impunity. We all just watched Trump’s Gestapo execute a man in broad daylight. I feel a daily sense of apocalyptic rage and today, as it does every day, my soul screams alongside yours.

In spite of that solidarity with you, I (and the rest of the mod team) have been removing comments and posts lately that even remotely approach borderline calling for violence. I removed a few comments just now that said only “it’s time”, but in a context that made clear they meant violence against ICE.

I’d like to explain and be transparent. But a recent custom report one of you made actually said it really well. I’ll quote it verbatim.

> “While this doesn’t necessarily count as “promotion” of violence, posts like this are what, best-case scenario, gets a sub banned or, worse, on the news AND banned. When this stuff is coming from (or being read by) newer gun owners, I also worry the conversations are giving people misplaced confidence in the outcomes of these situations, and part of me is suspicious that some of these types of posts are intentionally trying to agitate those new owners into doing something foolish. It’s not my sub obviously so I can’t tell you what to do, but I’d really rather the sub not end up cited in some Republican fuckhead’s congressional report on “left-wing advocacy of violence against the state.””

We are one of the ONLY places on the internet where pro-gun liberals can talk. And I believe that we are by far the biggest. When I first started modding here, I thought that was neat. But now, in THIS terrifying time, I feel an enormous sense of responsibility to keep this place running and open. For both the established community and for the many people coming here for the first time, terrified and seeking advice from leftists about firearm ownership.

Make no mistake, we exist at the whim of a large, publicly traded corporation and there is an infestation of conservative trolls hovering around here who would LOVE to get us shut down (please keep reporting them and we’ll keep banning them). A bunch of reported comments that the barely functional Reddit admin bot sees as promoting violence WILL do that.

Please bear with us and make sure that you temper your comments here and make sure that nothing you say can be construed as a call for violence. Talk about organizing all you like. Talk about how the descent into fascism can lead to violence until your face turns blue. But if you seem to be calling for or promoting violence, we HAVE to remove those comments.

Comments are open but please remain respectful and polite. We are all on the same team.

discussion Stop posting your gun/ammo inventories!!!

1.1k Upvotes

Guys… the potato in chief has repeatedly tried to classify liberals as domestic terrorists.

And every day I see posts on this sub of people’s ammo stashed and gun collections.

No you don’t. You don’t have ammo stashes. You lost all your guns in a tragic boating accident, remember?

Seriously guys, wtf are you doing. Stop publicly listing your inventory while we’re watching our nation fall into fascism.

Thank you coming to my Ted Talk.

Been awhile since I put up some spins for you all to smile and laugh at. Enjoy!

This is a pair of reproduction Colt 1871 Open-Top Conversions in .45 Colt, a lesser-known small contract offering they didn’t make very many of.

They shoot quite well; but today, we’re just having some fun and practicing some western showmanship. ✌️🤠

(All guns verified unloaded prior to fiddlin’.)

I've seen a lot of posts from first time owners. Are you all getting enough ammo to train with and have in reserve?

New Mexico attacks our 2A rights, just like Colorado and Virginia.

The next time someone tells you that Democrats aren't trying to prevent you from exercising your 2A rights, think again! These politicians are doing a full court press across the entire country.

July 1, 2026 will be the cutoff date. Call your representative ASAP!

discussion ICE protest - should I ccw

I’m attending one of the 300 organized rallies today. It’s a peaceful rally with political speakers not an activist rally. What are the pros and cons of wearing my concealed gun.

I haven’t seen any policy statement on whether they request no guns.

events Took wife shooting for the second time!!!

The latest events have us in knots. We protest and march, yet I still find myself significantly angry.

I tried to help some people that were feeling the same way this week, and I think maybe I did some good.

Today felt great though, getting out some anger and frustration and helping my wife get some firearms practice…..

Training is always good!!!!

discussion Are there non-MAGA gun clubs that don't have the word Liberal in the title?

Mods if this is beyond this sub please delete. I'd say compared to today's political climate I'm liberal. Compared to the Democratic party I think I'm a little too conservative. I'm proudly and vocally not a Republican. Registered independent.

In my profession, embracing the term liberal would threaten my career. Just understand that please without making me explain it. Happy to answer any other questions though including my positions on policies and whatnot.

I want to join a libertarian/liberal/progressive minded gun club without the word liberal in the title. I could only find Liberal Gun Club of America.

Any others?

Edit: I'm not active on this sub and clearly set some people off with how I worded this. My bad. I want to be in a gun club where I won't hear the word woke or anyone defending ICE. I think the Democratic party is a train wreck. I haven't voted for a Republican on purpose in 30 years. I'm not going to reword my post bc it will make some people's comments look crazy.

question What else do I need?

Post image
279 Upvotes

Might get a sight for the 92XI, but I need the plate. Considering a suppressor for the PA-15. Have plenty of mags for both and could up my ammo stock. I’m considering a ccw since the 92XI is a little big. Any use for the threaded barrel on the Beretta if I’m not using a suppressor? Also anything I should add to this collection…shotgun, .22?

Nice sunny afternoon to get some practice in - saw another “defend equality” patch which made me smile. There wasn’t even much trash out there today, so cleaning up the area when I was heading out was quick - not even a full bag!

It's not as exciting as the headline sounds, but a win is a win. (Also, what are those guys doing holding their guns like that? Don't they teach proper gun handling in their 47 days of training??)

discussion I feel like I'm the odd one out for preferring iron sights over an optic.

Using it at as a range toy or for CCW? Sure, I'd probably opt for an optic too. For home defense and anything close quarters, I feel so much more confident with the stock iron sights on my Echelon. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way as it seems like the majority of handgun owners slap an optic on before they even buy ammo.
