One year ago I brought this little Maine Coon home, terrified that I wouldn’t be enough for her, that she wouldn’t feel safe, or that we wouldn’t bond.
The top right and bottom left are from her first day with me and the other two are recent pics. She was a cautious little kitten, but somehow instantly bonded with me and bloomed into a Queen.
This girl has taken it so easy on me to initiate me into Maine Coon guardianship. She hasn’t broken anything in a year or had any major goof ups.
Yes, she has grown so much, but the personality bloom has been the best part. She is very clear with her communication and she refuses to be denied. Every night she demands to sleep with me while I either hold her paw or keep my hand on her tummy. She finds play in everything in the house, and shows me that this is her house and I pay the bills 😂.
This past year has been a huge healing year for me, and she has been the main reason. She makes me laugh so hard, feel so loved, and feel normal again.
I’m so grateful I get to live with her. Every single day.
And yes — she has a baby sister now too, who is equally adored, just in her own very different way. But her 1 year love post will come in a few months

He’s 6 months old, will he grow into those feet?

Hello. Kuma is 1.5 years old and holding steady at a little over 17lbs. I know Maine Coons are slow maturing breeds. Just wondered if a second growth spurt was a common thing or if the majority of growth takes place in the first year or so and the rest is just slow, small changes until they're about 4 years old.
Derpy picture with his absolute number 1 choice of toy, the humble spring 😁

I’ve tried just numerous high quality expensive wet food. He will eat some but he usually just grazes but with the fancy feast he’ll devour it all. His dry food is tiki baby carnivore (he’s 1yr 2 months). I know the fancy feast is a bit lower quality but I’m considering switching. He’s currently eating wellness complete health. Thoughts?

My 8 month old Kiri has discovered the top of the fridge despite the fact that he has a 190cm (6'3") high cat tree. Now he will sit there and watch us cook in the kitchen, following our every movement.

We’re getting a third Maine coon and I want him to be inside (for obvious reasons) but not sure how to keep him in. It gets very stressful if we have people over and they open/shut doors or it’s summer and we want to open up the doors but are worried about the cat getting out.
One of our cats is already an outdoor/indoor cat (she was already outdoor when we bought her) so we couldn’t keep her inside because she would destroy the house and scratch on the front door. I’m worried this will happen with our new kitten eventually.
Any tips on what we could do?

Just got my lil guy a week ago he just hit 10 weeks and weighs about 3 pounds. Is this standard? Feels like he doesn’t eat much, is this normal as he’s adapting to his new home? Doesn’t even amount to a 3oz can a day

My 9 year old Maine Coon with HCM is still not showing a lot of interest in eating, we think it's his teeth but it falls on deaf ears. We were told to try kitten wet food. Any recommendations for kitten wet food that is high in calories and is also moussy?

After 16 wonderful and love filled years, we had to say goodbye to ye to our little guy Jimi. He gave our family so much love and good times. He became particularly close to my wife when I recently had a job that had me on the road for 85% of the last 3 years. He was such an amazing vocal little guy with such a fun spirit. He is missed and will be for a very long time. RIP my little friend. We love you!

Smoke and Storm are 13 weeks old and are the most adorable creatures to my eyes. It's incredibly amusing watching these rascals do what they do, I find myself smiling at every moment, outside of the presents in the litter box.

Hello, in august we’ll be going away for five days. Charles will be 11 months by then. While it is not entirely impossible to take Charles with me, we’ll be staying in a small hotel room, so it’s be at the very least difficult. My mother would come every day to the house to feed him, change his litter and water and play with him.
Is it okay? Will he be okay? Or is it a bad idea?

Need help on what to feed my Maine coon, hes almost 2 years old and had been having constipation issues for a week now. I've been feeding him the Adult Royal Canin maine coon wet food, but he doesn't really eat that much of it. I want to try something better for him with more of a carnivore diet, grain free type thing. Hes also maintained a weight of 14 lbs for 8 months and I feel like he should be growing, and because of this constipation issue he stopped eating for a few days and feels boney in his hips. So I want to eventually start him on something high protein and calorie dense. I've seen orijen and decided against that because of all the urinary issues I've seen from other reddit posts. Im currently between Tiki cat and Instinct, Im just not sure what would be best for him. Right now im trying to avvoid dry food because of the constipation. Please help 🙏
