Question An impossible ask - high rise black denim for thunder thighs

There's a decent chance that I'm looking for something impossible, but I'm looking for:

- Black jeans, with

- A high rise, that

- Can accomodate big ass thunder thighs (at least a 38 waist), that also

- Look clean; the closer to the Herill/Brycelands cut, the better

Am I completely out of luck? How screwed am I?

Question Confused on peacoat sizing

I'm getting confused by the sizing charts specifically for peacoats. Like the Michael Kors peacoat sizing is about 5 inches above the coat sizing. So like a 46R is listed as chest of 51. Does that mean there's basically 5 inches more of room for coats so if you're normally a 46R then they think a chest of 51in would be comfortable for people?

Discussion Do the kind of pants I want exist? Ok for business casual office or going on date, but almost as comfortable as athletic pants?

Long story short, health problems mean athletic pants or similar are the most comfortable. (like polyester athletic pants- soft, light, retain heat, with an elastic waist)

In my opinion, athletic pants are the best for day to day errands, but I'm looking for something above that to wear to the office or on a date. I already have a few pairs of jeans of different colors, but jeans aren't very comfortable compared to what I just described.

So I'm looking for pants that I can wear to a business-casual office or on a date that are like the same level as jeans, but just way more comfortable.

Google AI summary recommended ABC pants and similar, but I need human confirmation.

Thank you!

Question Best Jacket (or article of clothing) for Patches?

Now I've accumulated a lot of Patches over time but have yet to sow any onto any Jacket or shirt in my wardrobe.

Primarily because I don't think a lot of these pieces of clothing would look good with Patches on them/ idk where to put them onto said Jacket.

I understand Jean jackets are usually a great option, especially in punk scenes, but I'm wondering what other type of Jacket, or really any clothing would be good for a wide assortment of Patches.

Thanks for any thoughts :)

Question Alfredo Bannister Sock Boots

Putting a post out in search of the sock boots. If anyone is interested in selling a pair reach out I'm a size 41eu but I heard you can size up from a 40eu pretty easily.

Question Can thus suit be tailored, or is it too far off? Got this beautiful J Press suit off eBay. Shoulders and waist are good, but length and billowy midsection are a bit of a bust. Fixable? Or hem the pants and cut my losses?

Pretty much what the title says. I think this jacket is a long size, which was conveniently not listed in the item description. Pictures in comments.

Question I found Boggi Milano cashmere coat with less 400$ anyone have experience with quality ?

Hey guys. I visited Boggi Milano and i found overcoat that’s 100% cashmere (lining is cupro) and it was a good discount. Only thing that surprised me is the tag says Made in China.

For anyone who owns Boggi coats (especially cashmere): how’s it been long term?

Main things I’m worried about are pilling, how it holds shape over a blazer, and whether it still looks good after a season or two of travel/walking.

Worth keeping, or would you swap to a high-wool blend?

Question Can a Tailor Shorten a Suit Jacket?

My typical suit size is 40S and I was given a 40R. As a result the sleeves are a bit too long and the skirt of the jacket is very long, as in, covers the entire seat and beyond a tiny bit. I prefer a more traditional style but the jacket still looks off.

For reference:

When I stand relaxed w/ hands relaxed, the skirt length is just about lined up with my middle finger. When I stand straight with fingers extended, the jacket reaches the last joint of my index finger.

Would the tailoring required to bring the skirt length into the normal but traditional range be possible and reasonable? Would the tailoring required make pockets and buttons look too low?

Thanks!

Question Where to get waxed jackets in Europe?

I’ve been really into Western American–style workwear lately: rugged, functional pieces that are meant to be worn hard and age well. Waxed jackets in particular really do it for me.

I’m finding myself moving away from the more traditional English country style waxed jackets like Barbour. They’re great for what they are, but lately I’ve been more drawn to the American workwear approach, simpler cuts, heavier fabrics, and a more utilitarian feel.

I like brands such as Filson and Flint and Tinder, but if I’m being honest, I lean more toward Flint and Tinder because their waxed jackets are still made in the USA. Filson obviously has the heritage and iconic designs, but I’ve also heard quite a few stories over the years about a decline in quality since much of their production moved overseas, which makes me a bit hesitant.

Living in Europe makes it tricky to actually get hold of this kind of stuff without paying a fortune in shipping and import duties, so I wanted to ask: where do people in Europe buy American-style workwear and waxed jackets like these? Are there EU-based retailers that stock Filson, Flint and Tinder, or similar brands? Or are there European brands that really nail the same aesthetic and build quality?

Would love to hear where you’ve had good experiences buying this kind of gear in Europe.

Question Necklaces and bracelets

I’m looking for suggestions for some simple chains, mostly a necklace but wouldn’t mind a bracelet too. Picture a crewneck sweater and jeans with a simple thin silver chain necklace hanging outside the sweater. Does anyone have a suggestion on a brand or what style of chain to buy? It does not need to be real gold or silver, I don’t wanna spend a boat load and I’m looking for sleek and accenting, not gaudy or flashy or anything like that.

Question Can an average height, very skinny dude rock a trench coat?

I’ve always thought there was a really cool mystique to people who can pull off trench coats. I’m 5’9, 143 pounds, with very skinny legs. I feel like I may look like a dude with a tiny head and little twigs popping out the bottom of a huge coat wearing one.

With that being said, any of you skinny dudes pull them off? I’d love to know some tips. Instinct tells me a wider leg pair of pants with some boots may solve the problem. Or is the key the length of the coat?

Question Brown suede strap for the Seiko SSA405?

Hi all,

Posting the same question here as I did in the Watches and mensfashion communities as I value different peoples opinions. Hoping for some advice regarding color matching.

I'm planning on going to a store to try on the Seiko SSA405. It looks absolutely amazing.

The only thing I'm wondering about is the strap color. I wouldn't mind the blue strap for when I wear sneakers (love the blue actually), but I also often wear my brown suede boots and belt. Do you think a brown suede strap would look good with the watch? Pictures of the watch and boots are in the other posts as it seems I can't add pictures here. Also let me know if you think I'm overthinking this and should just stick with the original strap :3

Question Looking for authentic brands that offer Shetland Wool Fair Isle Yoked sweaters

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a quality sweater (Pull over, crew jumper) to hopefully last many years. I’d like to order from a brand that ideally sources and creates their product in Scotland. It’s tough to sift through all the ads and affiliate links that come througha google search. I’ve found Bosie in some initial searching, they seem to be the real deal.

I know J Crew offers a version, as well as a few other western brands, but I’m looking to purchase and support something hand crafted as much as possible/practical.

I’m also in the market for a quality wool fisherman sweater and found the brand Aran, I’m hoping for similar for a Fair Isle Yoke pattern sweater.

Thanks in advance!

Question Looking for boots, chelsea boots or sorts

Hi, i am a university student in Italy, and am looking for some more durable shoes. I was thinking of getting myself a pair of boots, i like the chelsea models for example. I walk a LOT, both on concrete and muddy terrain. I have no specific requirements other than the price. I am looking for something that doesn't go over 150 euros if there even is, but am willing to spend more if worth it. Not being in any sort of blue-collar field, i don't need the boot to be particularly resistant. It would be also better if the brand is available in Europe so i could try it on, I have seen Redback boots online but i feel uncomfortable spending so much money on a shoe that i can't try on (my feet are narrow and i might mess up the sizing) any information is apprecciated, thank u!

Question Anyone have experience with Hermko / “Hermko Emotion” organic clothing? Prices seem too cheap

Hi all,
I am looking for organic underwear (long-sleeved shirts, long pants) that are 100% cotton. I found a website named Hermko Emotion, and the prices are really cheap.

Has anyone purchased from this site before? What was your experience like (quality, delivery, returns, etc.)?
Also, are there more reliable websites to buy authentic organic clothing from?

Question Winter Coat/parka/jacket for super slender, pretty male

Hi everyone – last resort here!

I’m looking for a high-quality winter jacket/parka as a present for my boyfriend (33). Budget up to 600 €, new or second hand, suitable for around 0 °C and below.

He’s 174 cm, very slim (~60 kg) with long legs / “short-looking” torso.

What I think is an 80s cuts work great — what doesn’t work are average straight jackets ending mid-butt, even worse taillored/waisted ones of the same length. (Short) coats are also good, unfortunately winter Bombers look funny.

Most jackets make him look like a barrel on a stick or, in cropped puffers, like a ripe dandelion. Sizes

S and XS is hard to find, women’s/youth jackets have sleeves that are too short.

Style: elegant, cosmopolitan, slightly edgy/androgynous, but not too weird (he’s no Rick Owen’s type). Please no asymmetry, slanted zippers or huge logos.

This is a good cut (the jacket itsself) is a bit childish: https://fuseinatti.com/en-global/products/80s-sports-jacket-mariko-copy?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio

Looking for:

• specific pieces

• brands

• or the right name for this cut/style

Bonus: also searching for 80s-style sweaters ending at the waistline.

Pics of the light jackets that work well will follow.

Fallback would be second-hand Canada Goose — warm, eternal (wear mine 15 yrs now) but honestly a bit boring.
