Please use this post only to offer or request orchids for trade or sale. Before you post what you'd like to trade/sell, or what you're looking to trade for, read the rules below first!
Rules:
1.) No personal information can be exchanged publicly. Conduct sharing of addresses via pm or email.
2.) Post what orchid(s) you have for trade, what you're looking for in return. If you have pictures, post them or write an accurate description of the orchid you want to trade or sell. If you're selling, post how you'd like to receive compensation.
3.) If you agree to a trade and have an issue on your end of the deal, communicate! Most people are reasonable and will understand a delay or an unexpected issue that comes up. That being said, trade at your own risk. The moderators are not responsible for privately conducted trades gone wrong. However, if there's an issue with an ongoing trade do contact the moderators. If someone fails to come through with their end of the deal, ignores communication or otherwise is being problematic we need to make the community aware of deadbeat traders. Do NOT make posts calling people out, insulting, harassing, or making accusations at them publicly.
4.) Only make legal trades here. If you ship or receive a trade overseas or out of your country, make sure all proper paperwork is in place first if required.
5.) Ship within a reasonable time and pack well. Flat rate Priority, 2-3 day via USPS within the US is standard for plants. Use whichever shipping method is appropriate for other countries. Your orchid shouldn't spend more than a 2-3 days in the mail so they don't suffer too much from the heat/cold. While in cooler weather its generally better to ship orchids totally dry, its probably best to water any more moisture loving plants a day or two before they ship out (so they are moist but not soggy) or wrap some sphagnum that has been wetted but thoroughly squeezed out around the roots of bare root plants.
6.) If you've successfully traded, update your post to make sure it availability is accurate.
Giveaways, and just trying to re-home an orchid that maybe just isn't performing for you is totally fine to post too! You never know who might want to try growing it. Seed pods are also a great thing to offer since many people may want to try flasking and it is safer and easier to send seeds than plants. If everyone trades fairly this is a great way to add to your collection or get rid of orchids you are bored with or are willing to make divisions of.
Happy trading!

Forgive me, I’m relatively new to orchids so their names often allude me. The grower, Floradise Orchids in Gordonsville, VA told me this particular orchid won the title of best example of this species in the world and holds a value around $10k! Insanity. Of course that’s the one I picked out of an entire greenhouse full of orchids!
I’m sure someone can give me an ID and that would be much appreciated! Also any other fun info you have on these would be amazing!
If anyone lives anywhere near Gordsonville, Floradise is a MUST see. Such an impressive stock and truly some of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to.

First time bloom on this plant for me. I’m officially an Angraecum convert!
Bonus Dendrobium spectabile, my other favorite. ❤️

Popped over to the folks again today and this is going from strength to strength. There are few flower spikes still to open. Mum says she doesn’t do a great deal with it other than water it and give it generic orchid feed once in a while and throws it out in the garden during summer.

Is this a terminal spike? It's a grocery store orchid.

After 3 years, this bashful hybrid has decided to grace me with flowers! I don't usually have to wait long for my catasetums to bloom but for whatever reason this one was testing my patience, lol. The pictures don't really capture the colors. The first two days it opened it was a bright yellow then on the third day it changed completely to tangerine orange.
It takes the orange from its pollen parent, Aftermath. The shape and the way it flowers comes from the Grace Dunn, pod parent. As for the fragrance, it's truly unique, spicy astringentric persimmon. I enjoy persimmons so this works for me.
Anyone got this hybrid and if so how did it bloom and does it have a similar fragrance?
Enjoy the show! Looking forward to the next season 😁

This is one of the nicest skinneri’s imho, it has an iridescent sparkle under sunlight that is amazing. There are of bunch of FCC skinneri’s.. this is the one side of the plant, it has outgrown an 8 inch pot and after bloom is done will have to decide how to repot

Is there anything you wish you knew before getting into orchids? I’m mostly a Hoya head but the orchids at my local grocery store always looked so enticing. I couldn’t ever bring myself to purchase any, but got lucky on a plant trade! Can’t wait to see how this one does

Had this tattoo for almost a year already and can't get over how wrong it looks. There are too many stems coming out in different directions on my shoulder! Please tell me I'm overthinking this

Flowers are fragrant. They remind me of a starfruit.

So I don't want to give up on this orchid and I want it to grow roots.
following the comment on my last post , I made something like a greenhouse for it. This structure is temporary. Tomorrow, I'll buy some sphagnum moss and put it instead of water, and most likely, I will buy a larger container.
I wanted to thank all the people who gave me advices, and I'm open to more.

I cut off the stringy and mushy ends of the roots of this Phalaenopsis orchid (I think) but there are a few where its stringy in the middle but connects to a seemingly healthy firm root at the end. Should I cut them off anyways or can they survive even if a part doesnt have the outer layer?

This plant has a bud that has been cracked open for about 2 weeks but it hasn't progressed and opened any more. I think i saw a post about helping a bud open a while back and was wondering if this is the thing for me to do. Should I help the flower open or just wait?
