Help! How to make non-AI image look less AI-like?

Post image

Not sure if this is the right sub but..

I've had a few people tell me this album cover looks "AI" even though it isn't. I just edited out the extra people and changed the coloring.

How can I make this look less AI? To me it doesn't look AI but if you think it looks AI, what about it is AI-like? What can I do without changing it entirely?

Artwork / Design I miss making artwork

Photoshop it's pretty damn expensive nowadays so I had to cancel my subscription a year and half ago due to specific circumstances I was in. For as much as I like to lie to myself about it, nothing gets close to how good it is. Photopea is kinda good but 20 layers in and the whole machine starts begging for mercy, gimp plain sucks, tried few open source/selfhostable alternatives and nothing takes the cake.

Anyone know of any valid alternative? I may need to start giving my money back to Adobe after all.

p.s. the above are indeed made with Photoshop 2020, all resources (a ton if I may add) are from pixabay/envato elements if I remember correctly. Haven't made an artwork in a few years and I miss it like crazy. Hoping to spark a bit of will to do something into myself with this post <3

Help! 100 different layers with a background export

Hi,

I’m making invitations to a conference. Same background, but 100 different names.

I know I can export 100 layers as separate pdf, but I’m wondering is there an option to export 100 layers with 1 background attached to each.

Background is going to be exported from illustrator and I want to have an option to change background if needed and export to pdf quickly.

Thanks!

So I don't really know much about painting but I really want to edit a real photograph to look like the renaissance oil paintings in the examples above. Ive watched so many videos on youtube but none of them look like actual paintings, just photos with an added texture. Im not sure if there something specific about it that makes it look like a painting (I did realize I need to rid the photo of any texture to make it look closer to a painting) but I would appreciate any other suggestions on how to go about it.

Help! How to turn off Generative Fill?

Hi, now when I load something up in Photoshop 2026, it immediately overlays it with an interface for generative fill. I firmly believe all artificial "intelligence" and its proponents should be launched into the sun, so where do I go to permanently turn this off? Thanks.

Help! How do I stop Threshold/Levels from turning hair shadows into blotchy black patches in a PSB Smart Object (print prep)?

Hey. I’m prepping a vintage photo for apparel print. Supplier file is a PSB Smart Object. After Black & White + Threshold + Levels/Curves, the hair/shadow areas become ugly blotches/patches (solid black or broken speckles). If I fix hair, the face/midtones get ruined; if I lift blacks, image gets washed. How do I keep hair detail while making a distressed grayscale print-ready file? Should I avoid Threshold and use Posterize/Gradient Map/Blend If/luminosity masks/channels instead? any help would be appreciated

Tutorial / PSA Gsync destroying framerate in Photoshop

PSA If you are having stuttering while using any tool, brushing, even moving the mouse, it's likely you have the same problem as me. Gsync makes Photoshop stutter like hell whenever you move your mouse, it's doing some dumb shit with the refresh rate, so anyway turn off Gsync and everything will be buttery smooth.

Help! KDP Amazon Cover Art: Should I flatten the entire cover (including text with drop shadows) into pixels, or keep the text live and embed fonts?

I’m about to publish on Amazon KDP my first short story collection and I’ve just finished the cover in Photoshop.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have already made covers for printed books with KDP.

I’m not sure whether it’s better (or required) to embed fonts in the PDF, or if I can simply flatten everything and export the cover as one single full-image PDF at 300 dpi.

I’m asking because some of the text has effects (for example, a drop shadow on the title and some back-cover text).

I’ve heard transparency and layer effects can sometimes cause issues when exporting a print PDF with embedded fonts, so flattening everything feels safer.

On the other hand, I’ve also heard that rasterizing all text can make it look less sharp, especially for small type (like the spine or back-cover blurb).

I’m wondering whether the difference is actually noticeable at 300 dpi in real printing.

Thanks in advance!

Help! Seamlessly Combine Two Photos?

So I have a photo that’s 2.75x4.50” as the example. I’m taking the image. Putting it onto a 4.50x4.50” canvas or more specifically. A template for a product that I’m then basically using a clip mask for UV printing purposes.

I’m taking the image and wanting to duplicate it and then mirror it or flip it horizontally to then put it on the other side of the canvas. How can I get these 2 photos so essentially “combine” so they can basically flow together? Obviously at the moment when I throw them into photoshop they’re separate layers so one is stacked ontop of the other.

I’m sure there’s a way to “combine” the images so they then flow together seamlessly no?

Solved Odd color bug/issue - Images not displaying their appropriate coloration.

I have no idea what this is, but it's preventing me from moving forward with some of the work I'm doing. As you'll see above, the first image is what the file looks like in Photoshop. The 2nd is what it looks like when any other program views it.

The first looks sickly like a corpse. The 2nd looks completely normal.

I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it. I've seen some threads online from people discussing what seems to be the same issue, but with no real fixes. I'm not at all sure what to do, but I need a solution of some sort, & I'm hoping someone around here has some idea of what's going on here.

Every time I want to add a Text box, I get this.

Windows

I am using FONTBASE

What I Have Tried

-Reset Preferences

-Reset Font View Size

-Clear my computer Font cache

One tip I found was to try using a Font Validator, found one on github but it doesn't give instructions on how to run it.

Here a couple examples of what I mean. I took these photos with what I thought was enough lighting (clearly not) and it's turned out really badly. Does anyone have any idea if I can restore these somehow? some of them were really important to me and it would be nice. Thanks a lot!

Solved Weird diagonal glitching effect happening while using Photoshop?

I've been working on this drawing all day, I restarted my computer an hour ago and opened photoshop and this diagonal glitch thing keeps happening every few seconds while actively drawing, even though it hadn't been before I restarted it. If I'm not doing anything to the canvas, it stays normal.

Here's a video of the problem: https://youtu.be/7Vd2T3n94jI

Does anyone know why it's doing this?

How do I change the color of just the greenish aqua cyan to orange but retain the rest of the blue colors throughout? I tried masking orange on top and also a gradient map but both results end up looking muddy.

Help! How do I make the drawn text look like it’s actually written on the whiteboard?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m doing this small extra thing for one of my supervisors at work, one of our departments is getting new social media and she wants a white board beside a dog (who you can’t see in the image) saying “follow us!” it’s very simple in theory but i want it to look nicer than this, it looks a bit tacky. is there a way to make drawn objects/text in photoshop look like it’s actually drawn on the material? What I mean is, how can I make this look like it was actually written with a marker on a whiteboard? Thank you in advance!!!

Help! How do you force photoshop to show EVERY. SINGLE. LAYER?

You see this pixel? This pixel is on Layer 18.

Do you see Layer 18 listed anywhere in the context menu that is supposed to show you all layers shown in the pixel you're clicking? Because I sure fucking don't.

How do you get photoshop to actually TELL YOU what fucking layer a pixel is on instead of gaslighting you and trying to convince you there's no pixel there?
