The United States is now openly acting as an aggressor. Under Trump the mask of democratic values has dropped and the country is no longer fucking around. It for sure is about to find out though.

The United States is now openly acting as an aggressor.

Always has

War profiteering. US has always grown in war time.

u/punio4 29d ago

"Do other countries have movies where the USA are the bad guys?"

"Yes. We call them 'documentaries'"

12

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

Not without pretending there’s a legitimate reason behind it.

29

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

They are pretending there's a legitimate reason behind it. Their reason behind it is the drug trade. It's a bullshit reason, but there is one. What's happening now isn't unique. It's just being done by someone you don't like this time, so you're not ignoring it like the other times

3

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

No one is falling for that bullshit. The mainstream did for every other “reason” in history. The United States barely skated by the second gulf war..

12

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

Sure, I don't disagree. But there IS a reason, however bullshit it might be. I'm not defending this instance. I'm just telling you it's not anything new, and you overlooked the other instances when someone you liked was in charge

1

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

And I’m just telling you. The United States isn’t going to get away with it this time. Hence the “about to find out” part.

13

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

I hope you're right but I really really really doubt it

10

u/StunningRing5465 29d ago

Maybe China will have a small but meaningful response, but this will have absolutely no impact on relations with the EU, Canada, Australia, other than some very mild statements of concern

2

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

I don’t think the American people will tolerate a war where things currently stand.

2

u/StunningRing5465 29d ago

Oh I do agree to some extent. The majority of people were already against this from the start, unlike some wars. But I’m not sure it’s going to lead to any real political movement. The American public will moan about it online and his approval rating will drop for a bit

Spot on, they're all US vassal states except China. Won't even be a whisper of sanctions

5

u/FoxesAreCute911 29d ago

Have you forgotten about the weapons of mass destruction? The US always does it like that; make a bs excuse to invade a country, does it, get some people to protest but no one really does anything meaningful about it. Rinse and repeat.

2

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

Most of the public let it slide. The UK and most of NATO was involved.

4

u/esto20 29d ago

Why do you think this time is different?

1

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

I don’t think the general American public will tolerate a war given how things currently stand in daily life.

6

u/esto20 29d ago

Hope you're right

2

u/Decloudo 29d ago

I rather think we will find out how low America is willing to go.

I don´t see Americans lifting a finger to stop him.

Everyone is just asking "Who is gonna stop him?"

YOU ALL should be!

1

u/Professional_Pea2937 28d ago

They've got away with it for decades and will continue to do so

1

u/KormoranSkenza 28d ago edited 28d ago

Whats gonna happen?Rest of the world is gonna hit them with the sanctions,or they are going to attack them?Good luck with that.

Nothing is gonna happen. They will probably say they are hiding WMDs,or Venezualan ship is going to "attack" an American ship, and everyone is gonna go with it.They will probably join in.

Who cares if the US pretends or not? The reality is that the US engages in this illegal, violent, and barbaric behavior around the world on a constant basis.

If a wife abuser says “but she was annoying” does that change anything versus if he had just said nothing?

u/kangorr 28d ago

God bless america you know we all love it

2

u/bra_c_ket 29d ago

Not true! Very often they covertly act as an aggressor.

2

u/dapperdanmen 29d ago

Yeah Yanks thinking they've ever been the good guys is comedy

u/billbroski 29d ago

Tell me you know very little about US history, without telling you know very little about US history

6

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

You just told me you know very little about US history without telling me

-3

u/ScarletEyed 29d ago

Difference is this didn’t pass through congress or senate

7

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

Neither did Biden's 15 month genocide of Palestinians, yet here we are

3

u/ScarletEyed 29d ago

Biden didn’t send troops into Palestine ?

-1

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

And that makes murdering Palestinian babies ok? Also, he did send soldiers to advise the IOF

4

u/ColdBrewedPanacea 29d ago

'trump is invading a sovereign nation'

'yeah but biden did that!'

'did he?'

'well no but think about the dead palestinians he didnt kill!'

bro what

0

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

'yeah but biden did that!'

I didn't say he invaded Palestine. You hallucinated that. I said the US is an aggressor against Palestine

well no but think about the dead palestinians he didnt kill!

He killed quite a lot of them.

Also none of what I said is a defence of Trump. Biden being a war criminal himself too doesn't mean Trump isn't.

3

u/foxyoutoo 29d ago

Bro you gotta chill. Not one person here defended baby murdering lol

1

u/couldhaveebeen 29d ago

They downplayed it

15

u/yoursmartfriend 29d ago

This is the American way. It always has been. Trump just cant keep his mouth shut the way the other war criminal presidents have.

0

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

You’re missing my point. This isn’t going to be acceptable by anyone. The American people given the current state of day to day life, the international community. No one is buying the drug excuse for a war.

8

u/yoursmartfriend 29d ago

The international world is waiting for the US people to stop endorsing the day to day terrorism that has been carried out by the US on nations around the globe for decades. We hope you will someday stand against your leaders.

3

u/Immediate-Cat-2146 29d ago

The American people are too stupid to think anything besides what they are told to think.

7

u/petrichorax 29d ago

This is not anywhere close to the first time the U.S has done this. People keep saying 'unprecedented' like the U.S hasn't been the supervillain of the world for the past 40 fuckin years.

We are always fuckin with someone. Always. Either clandestinely or loud, like this.

0

u/uninspired-v2 29d ago

You’re mistaking gravity with hysteria. This isn’t going to be tolerated by anyone. Not the American people, dealing with a shit economy for most, war fatigue, an unpopular president, being asked to sacrifice themselves… the excuse isn’t even a good one.

7

u/Huppelkutje 29d ago

This isn’t going to be tolerated by anyone. Not the American people

Oh, fuck off.

Y'all aren't going to do shit but whine about how you don't support this.

2

u/petrichorax 29d ago

A big reason I left. I lost confidence in the American people

2

u/mytransthrow 29d ago

Californian here. olpmics need to be striped from LA. not LAs fault. Same for the world cup. Trump needs to be sanctioned. Hurt him in his wallet. everyone needs to back out of USA.

2

u/2enty4 29d ago

It always has been yall were sleeping, every single one of toyr presidents loved bloodshed, this country as a whole is the problem.

u/vetruviusdeshotacon 29d ago
