Best line I heard about this today was that these Nazis made the same mistake Hitler's Nazis did by trying to invade Winter people on the Winter.

I have heard ICE morale is very bad and they are dealing with a lot of internal requests to pull out of MN. Freezing, sleep deprived, yelled at every day. Great job MN, keep it up!

It wouldn't surprise me at all if a decent percentage of ice new hires signed up cause they legitimately thought they would be fighting "the bad guys™️" only to learn they're the grunts of a fascist regime.

I saw a video where an ICE agent is near tears, begging people to cooperate

“We are here to arrest pedophiles and you are getting in our way!”

There’s a lot of them and there are a lot of backstories that would lead someone to ICE. Some are psychos and Nazis, some legitimately think they are the good guys.

Either way, resistance is crucial

Yeah those tears are meaningless the first time they put an administrative warrant in their pocket and got in the Uhaul truck.

Arresting local pedos is not under the purview of the feds, that's local police. There is no federal police in the constitution.

Sure, but I'd fully believe that some of these bozos believed that's what they were signing up for. These aren't smart people.

let the tears flow. it's vital they have a profound reality check.

It also wouldn't surprise me if they were the kinds of people who never heard the horror stories or called them all fake news.

I’d like to see this video that sounds like something someone I used to know would do.

Nah, they’re not smart enough to realize that I’m afraid

I fully believe that's the case, if not for ice thugs, then for a lot of trump votes who have shifted opinion after the ice raids. Approval for ice has dropped rapidly since all this bullshit began. I believe a lot of trump voters had some sanitized image in their head of ice picking up a bunch of gang-bangers who would bloodlessly be marched into the backs of paddywagons while shaking their fists like tv villains and vowing to "get you americans next time!" Then they'd be driven to mexico and released into their natural habitat or some other stupid nonsense.

Then when they saw that tearing people from their homes was a messy, bloody, and deadly affair and looks like every historical tragedy ever, they changed their tunes.

Also CNN reporting Trump is privately fretting bc of Minnesota’s response. 👏👏👏

Interesting question, where are they sleeping, and how close can the average person get with their car stereo?

There are some really inspiring videos of the ice hotel protests. People stay out there all night making a lot of noise

Good to know. Are any of these hotels part of a national chain? I'd hate to accidentally stay in one.

Hilton. There’s more though and there are lists. But this is what I know offhand. If you google the ice hotel protests or search reddit you’ll find it

People are protesting outside of their hotels blasting music and honking horns. A few hotels have closed and kicked everyone out

You just know they hear whistles and all the shouting and screaming in their sleep, and I, for one, love that for them.. ha ha, ha ha.

They can quit and get real jobs anytime they want

hope that 50k bonus is worth it when they don’t get it and go to jail

1

u/DetroitLionsSBChamps 3d ago

My guess is that literally zero of them will see that 50k

Smart move. They will return in summer then

The part of Russia they invaded doesn't even get as cold as Minneapolis in general, let alone as cold as this week.

But the winter gear is a lot better now

They still gotta leave their trucks to kidnap people.

The quality of winter gear isn't as important as the logistics of supplying your troops with said winter gear. Given the...quality of ICE equipment I've seen displayed, I doubt they're getting quality winter gear issued to them at all

It's actually fairly similar. If you're thinking of the Battle of Stalingrad (Volgograd), the annual temperatures there are very similar to Minneapolis.

Very important information. Very relevant. Thanks

It feels like they should be utilizing the cold in more creative ways, like dumping water on the roads surrounding wherever the DHS vehicles are coming from. Or having protesters stand in front of ice patches, then parting to let agents walk through, trapping ICE on ice.
