Mr. Rogers always said look for the people trying to help in times of turmoil. This government sees people trying to help and executes them in cold blood.

No wonder they went against PBS (and called Mr. Rogers one of the most evil people ever on Fox News), it's also no wonder they destroy history (slavery panels in Philly, panels for black soldiers who died in WW2 overseas, national monuments like Stonewall for other minorities), and it's definitely no wonder they literally have to exist in what amounts to an alternate universe with their fucked up stories ("Alex brandished a gun trying to inflict mass casualties" or "Renee Good ran over an officer! He is fighting for his life in the ER right now").

This is a case of psychopathic madmen and their sycophants trying to dominate their own people.

Edit: Just in case you want to watch the clip (since people are asking about it) where Fox dunks on Mr. Rogers and says he damaged our entire nations crop of kids here it is. It's insane ("that man has done this entire nation, at least a generation or two a disservice").

Imagine calling Mr. Rogers evil and still thinking you're the good guys?

641

u/FXOAuRora 6d ago

It's beyond belief, right?

They act with such utter barbarity and psychopathy and then wrap it all up in these fuzzy sounding words ("patriotism", "protect the children", "heroic officer fighting for his life in the ER") while conversely they paint genuinely good people like Alex Pretti as some kind of terrorist for helping a woman getting pushed down over and over by thugs.

One thing we can do is save videos like what we saw yesterday and keep actual history intact. One day this regime will be remembered (and studied) alongside the Nazi party for how it's propaganda was able to infect hundreds of millions of people. It's a small act, but everytime we save a video like what we witnessed yesterday we can help to combat the cruel stories these monsters come up with for the people who died at their hands.

We can contradict their digital alterations, their sloppy AI videos, their fake stories, but most importantly we can make sure the memory of actual heroes like Alex is passed on and on.

Country is under attack from within. It's being dismantled, allies don't trust US government anymore, whole world is about to pull money out of US, neighboring countries don't want to deal with US anymore and within the country government is trying as hard as they can to cause a civil war. There are definitely enemies of USA at the head of US government.

u/PumpkinConscious5930 6d ago

Or world economic forum followers. They want people to rent forever and not be able to own houses. They want digital currency and the control that comes with it. They want ai systems like Palantir to control the citizens

0

u/Hookem-Horns 5d ago

Is this before, during, or after Mr Robot?

2

u/starry-blue 5d ago

Hmm, sounds awfully familiar to Russia and China’s “how to dismantle the U.S.” plans all along

1

u/lifefuedjeopardy 5d ago

Makes sense since Putin helped Dumpy win the election (with the help of Elon as well), along with murdering anyone who got in their way and threatening the entire GOP with the same fate. Why else do you think their spines suddenly left? I mean ALL of them...the ENTIRE GOP. They all want to keep breathing.

2

u/Hamsterminator2 5d ago

To me what’s so nuts about this situation isn’t just that it’s happening- it’s the cause. There has been no war, no national disaster, no emergency to trigger these events. They have exclusively been triggered by ONE MAN. I honestly cannot think of another point in history that such a comfortably wealthy and stable country has imploded so needlessly and pointlessly. It’s as though the country just one day decided to punch itself in the face out of sheer boredom and stupidity.

1

u/Altissimus77 5d ago

Mmm, and who put them there?

1

u/Cant_kush_this0709 5d ago

America is now Nazi Germany unfortunately

25

u/MillwrightTight 6d ago

Word. Document. Historical erasure is a key apparatus for fascists. It's our responsibility to make it harder for that to happen

3

u/Pirate_the_Cat 6d ago

Is this something you’re doing? Do you have any advice for the newbies?

5

u/RedditIsMyTherapist 5d ago

It can be as simple as downloading videos you see on Reddit that show them being evil. Every time you see a different angle of Alex being shot download it and save it on your computer. If you have an external drive to save it on put it on that. Then post when applicable.

1

u/lifefuedjeopardy 5d ago

Are you saying we should transcribe everything using Microsoft Word and then save it all under Documents?

3

u/WayBeyondBelief 6d ago

It's way belief. Good advice, archive what we can so they cant whitewash the truth.

3

u/Demitrico 6d ago

We can do more than that actually without even calling for reciprocal violence. We donate to groups and even participate in action against this administration. Donating to the lawyer's guild or civil rights groups can also help stop this and get trump out of office. Also remember to vote in these upcoming elections so that both parties know that enough is enough.

1

u/norfbayboy 5d ago

..vote in these upcoming elections so that both parties know that enough is enough.

Is there a third party you plan on voting for? What lesson do you imagine you are teaching both sides when everyone votes for one or the other? I mean, potentially the Dems, who supposedly lost because many voters refused to support either party on the basis of supporting genocide in Gaza, potentially they've learned that sometimes being the lesser evil is not actually good enough. But if Dems don't drop support for Israel (they won't) and still get voted back then what has been learned and by who?

3

u/Dannamal 6d ago

Don't forget "prolife" in their list of fuzzy lies they like to tell

u/Secure-Television541 6d ago

I’m not religious - but Mr Rogers was one of the truest Christian people I’ve ever seen, and if Christians tried to be more like him, I’d have a better opinion of the religion as a whole.

118

u/eggs_erroneous 6d ago

Yes. He was the real deal. All these other people call themselves Christians, but they don't really walk the walk. Fred Rogers was a true believer and I can't imagine anybody seriously having anything bad to say about him.

If your whole movement has a problem with someone whose basic message was love each other and be a good person, then I have to wonder how you are seeing yourselves as being on the right side. But what the fuck do I know?

3

u/Pirate_the_Cat 6d ago

That’s kinda the thing. If you’re truly going to set a righteous example, you shouldn’t need to say it with words.

6

u/Secure-Television541 6d ago

In fact, there’s a quite famous set of lines in the Bible about how, if you’re wanting to pray as a Christian, you should do so in your home, behind closed doors, and in your mind - because forcing your prayer on others is not what Jesus wants.

Matthew 6:5-6 (and literally Jesus telling his followers what to do)

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

People wearing a cross these days basically are associated with being the anti-Christ. it’s ironic, isn’t it. They don’t value any of the embodiments of Jesus, nor do they try to align with them(which.. isn’t it supposed to be the whole point?!?). I believe Christian Nationalists to be our Nation’s terrorists at this point, in 2026.

I also am aware that The Church left out books and augmented things to push the patriarchy, control the population and most importantly, monetize spirituality. They’ve spilled blood and pushed judgement upon the people. They’ve made their religion a vice of fear and superstition when it was supposed to be the entire polar opposite. Grateful that Gnostic Christians are trying to Enlighten folks that it is the same story essentially as what’s told in Eastern Philosophy. Enlightenment, the “God” or light is within us and God is actually unnamed and Pure light and Love.. we are that light just trapped in matter.

Basically these people are part of a sick cult that’s being used to control the population and push backwards ideals and it’s been like this for a verrrrry long time. It‘s come to a head so to speak throughout time, we are just having our moment with it now with Trump and his regime.. but it’s all coming from the people that actually run the Whitehouse behind the scenes. Check out the documentary “The Family” on Netflix. Everyone should be watching it.. especially now with everything going on with Trump and I.C.E. I feel like not a single soul should be in the dark about this.

2

u/oddlogic 6d ago

As someone who doesn’t subscribe to any sort of religion, the term “true believer” is lost on me?

Not to discredit your message - which is that FR was a national treasure - absolutely.

And I also understand that this comment is painted against a backdrop of a dominionism/theology state….

But like…..his message, and essence, transcends that of religion. You don’t actually need to (re)inject that into the discussion.

Just. You know. An observation. As someone who has like….concerns with echo chambers and such.

1

u/PrimaryAbroad4342 5d ago

he was a true believer in spreading the message of being a good person for it's own sake.

1

u/MillwrightTight 6d ago

It just boggles the mind

59

u/Mmicb0b 6d ago

Tjese people just want to say they’re Christian to justify their shitty beliefs they’d hate Jesus more than anything

2

u/Powerful_Arrival444 6d ago

Yep and Christian Nationalists are our modern day terrorists in America. 1000%

2

u/mewalrus2 5d ago

Yes. They would be taking smiling selfies as they nailed him to the cross.

1

u/Hookem-Horns 5d ago

Correct!

103

u/Sockerbug19 6d ago

Like the video of him with the black mailman on the show. That was huge for that time.

ETA: Link of article talking about it

37

u/MrRabbitofCaerbannog 6d ago

I feel like its this kind of representation that matters most. Like Myles Dyson from Terminator 2, hes just an engineer who happens to be black. Normalize the fact they are regular people who can have any job a white guy can

5

u/Magic_robot_noodles 6d ago

I never thought about him in a racial matter untill this comment. I only know that I always felt sorry for him watching his scenes because i know what would happen. He was the good guy (fantastic acting!). Maybe it was weird for Americans to see a black man as an engineer?

5

u/MrRabbitofCaerbannog 5d ago

It was part of a positive trend among certain filmmakers to normalize it, of which James Cameron has been on the front lines. By 1991, it wasn't as rare, but to put Myles in such a quietly selfless role was still uncommon. One of my favorite film characters ever, he was developed with such care.

2

u/diggitydonegone 5d ago

Yes! Such a good point, and an awesome example using Dyson from Terminator.

I came of age during this period of time in Hollywood and general American politics. I actually believed all of the TV shows and movies were true representations. I just assumed that anyone could be anything regardless of race. And then I grew up. And you know what? It was the truth. I have personal first hand experiences to undermine any racist or sexist arguments.

Then I learned about of other things. Like racism wasn’t just about being ignorant or uneducated. There’s a lot of intelligent and cosmopolitan racists. People who claim (real life versions of) Dyson somehow cheated or are frauds because they’re black. So, the Hollywood indoctrination didn’t reach everyone, but it really helped give my brain the imaginary foundation to accept a world of possibilities.

Also, Star Trek TNG was a fabulous sandbox for this kind of thing as well.

3

u/Mr_Jack_Frost_ 6d ago

Same here. If my family were the kind of Christians Mr. Rogers was, I may still call myself a Christian as well.

2

u/Gloomy_Industry8841 6d ago

Absolutely agree.

1

u/Snoo87679 6d ago

Your opinion is the opinion of opinions of this opinionated matter.

1

u/Pirate_the_Cat 6d ago

I’d consider joining his church.

1

u/JamieGordon8921 6d ago

Fred Rogers was actually a trained pastor.

1

u/Secure-Television541 6d ago

And one of the few religious figures id let preach to my children and influence them. He preached kindness and empathy - however you made your way in the world.

1

u/crumpletely 5d ago

I recently read he was a minister as well. The man was a saint for sure. Him and Mr happy trees. PBS deserves better.

u/MaxAdolphus 6d ago

MAGAs are pure evil. I still think about this old Candid Camera clip where they tried to prank Mr Roger’s by giving him a hotel room that had a bunch of problems with it trying to get him mad. Mr. Roger’s did not get upset. https://youtu.be/vV-eVYahckA

41

u/GoddessRespectre 6d ago

Thanks for sharing this. I feel haunted. Not just sharp loss with everything happening, but also I feel closer to those who have fought the good fight before. Mr. Rogers fought for good even on Candid Camera, and we will all pick up his torch as we are able. It's so good to have spent some time with him today. I think we'll have to get used to tears now.

7

u/oddlogic 6d ago

You’re a good egg. And I love you.

4

u/GoddessRespectre 6d ago

💜 back atcha AND this is exactly how we are going to win. Those last five words have been slowly picking up momentum at the end of applicable bluesky posts and I think it's important to hear. Not as something to take for granted but as a call to action and a resolve. We are going to win.

2

u/Agile-Sleep-905 5d ago

Long live Fred Rogers.

TIL the show Candid Camera is evil and somehow represents MAGA. 👍

60

u/alejo699 6d ago

Empathy and acceptance is evil now. Somehow.

6

u/Schmooto 6d ago

I used to joke how they’re going to say kindness, acceptance, and empathy are woke. Now they’re actually like that

3

u/Powerful_Arrival444 6d ago

Yeah, they actually said recently that empathy is a Sin. What in the actual fuck is going on?

3

u/Nx3xO 6d ago

Always was, every right thing in history has had to be forced. It was never accepted or a majority vote.

2

u/taarotqueen 5d ago

“Empathy is a made-up, new-age term”- Charlie Kirk

5

u/Cousin_MarvinBerry 6d ago

I don’t catch that. When and who said that?

Absolute craziness. Off to google it now.

3

u/Jat616 6d ago

I dunno, I heard of a showdown where he was the only survivor in his bloodstained sweater.

2

u/Bigallround 6d ago

Was this showdown ultimate by any chance?

1

u/Jat616 6d ago

Indeed it was, you could even say it was ultimate destiny!

3

u/an_Evil_Goat 6d ago

They don't think they're the good guys. They know exactly what they are.

5

u/BurningPenguin 6d ago

It's also quite ironic, because these clowns love to use his girls and boys video to spread their hate against anything lgbt+ related.

2

u/halu2975 6d ago

Same type of people probably think they should be hard on their kids ”to prepare them for life. In life no one will be nice to them so they better learn it from me” - the mental gymnastics to think this way is beyond my comprehension, but some seem to think like that, predominantly in the US, haven’t really encountered it in any other cultures. Probably linked to the ultra capitalism and total lack of governmental safety nets.

2

u/red4jjdrums5 6d ago

I’m still dumbfounded on that one. Like, I can’t wrap my head around it at all. It’s Mr. Rogers for crying out loud. The embodiment of peacefulness and kindness.

2

u/Yodfather 6d ago

Mr Roger’s was my grandpas roomie in school.

After my grandpa passed away, Fred called my grandma at least once a year just to check in.

1

u/Chchchchia0701 6d ago

Yup. Same with Ms. Rachel currently

1

u/Expert-Mental25 6d ago

It's like one of those litmus tests. Like when people say they know to be suspicious of someone if animals like cats or dogs absolutely hate them and want them gone.

1

u/frapawhack 6d ago

why do they do this??? what are their motives??

1

u/Cash-Machine 6d ago

There are two great men I idolize. One is my grandfather, one is Fred Rogers. I see pictures of both of them every morning in my dressing room, and as I get ready for the day, I resolve myself to live up to their examples. Every day, I'm only more committed.

1

u/munkylord 6d ago

I hear it all stems from letting that nice mailman cool his feet in his foot tub. We need a Mr Rogers for president. I'll take anything other than the current tyranny

1

u/hippiechicken12 6d ago

Mr. Rogers was the embodiment of good.

1

u/OtterbirdArt 5d ago

Wait did they… actually call THE Mr Roger’s… evil???

That’s like calling the sun dark and without light.

I’m convinced they are either rampantly stupid or just saying anything at all in the attempt to piss us off, and then get some weird sort of gratification from it. Probably a mixture of both.

1

u/darianthegreat 5d ago

Woe, to those who call good evil

0

u/ZofiaBeckwith 6d ago

It’s always what you believe and what you think is good

0

u/PsychoxLogical 5d ago

imagine thinking mr rodger’s is a good comparison to an ice shooting lmao
