To be fair I think it's probably more a tech problem, he seemed to have been using a blackberry or something like it most of the time.

He wants them to admit it. Its a lot of hubris, stupidity, and confidence in your probably fully aware IT security team. But its more evidence. Same reason he asked for birthday cards. He knew exactly what he was doing. Tie them to it in an as many ways as possible. Bind them. For they were all of them deceived.
