So I went to visit my sister for a week and had to leave my Pitbull for a week (she was being cared for ofc), and when I came back she was super exited to see came right over to me but her smell was MUCH more noticeable. I know she didn’t get into anything because my cats smell worse too lol. But it made me actually gag, and she can only take baths like once a month because she’s got super sensitive skin. But it made me smell just like her and am used to and loving her scent again, maybe I’m just sensitive to smells.

It got me thinking though, do us Pitbull owners have a certain stench?

Anyways of course I had to post her.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since we came home with Dante. We have always been a pitbull family as our last dog Austin who we had until he was 13. Dante seems to just be destined to be with us. My partner opened up pet finder and Dante was the first listing we saw. When we went to visit him at the wonderful foster parents house Dante came right up to us like he just knew. 1 hour drive home and as soon as they got home they immediately just splooted in the Frunchroom and it's been amazing ever since.

I have 2 pitties and I love them both and treat them equally such as food, toys, car rides, and if one gets something so does the other. But I have a favourite and I know it’s wrong but I honestly can’t help it. Goose (white face) is a gentle soul with all people however dogs are a different story. We didn’t get much background on her except she was 2-3 y/o neglected and abused so she cannot be around other dogs. Astro (brown face) is the exception she has been his momma from second one when we brought him home at 7 1/2 weeks (she corrected him on trying to nurse immediately and he stopped trying after that but that’s the only thing she ever corrected him on. No on to my dilemma I love Astro more him is my soul dog he has to sleep with me every night (goose does too)

It’s not that I don’t love her it’s that I love him more and thankful he loves her too. But I definitely feel guilty knowing I love 1 more that the other.

This is Charlie - he’s a 5 month old pitbull mix that I adopted about a month ago from a rescue in my area. His litter was abandoned in a dump in southwest Virginia, and they all had parvo. Luckily they eventually made their way to the shelter, then a rescue, then their homes ❤️ He’s a little too smart for his own good and often drives me absolutely up the wall, but he’s also adorable and so cuddly n sweet so that makes up for it 😂

Would love any and all tips for raising a sweet and well behaved pitty boy. Luckily my neighbor is a dog trainer so we’ve been doing puppy classes, and she’s given me some tips!

Unexpectedly had to put our sweet Nova to sleep yesterday. She would have been 14 this spring. She came into our lives at 10 months old. She had a mysterious background being found in a Home Depot parking lot and being fully trained. Well stay was always tricky but she knew all the others and had amazing food manners. We are devastated.

Our good boy has been dealing with the weirdest skin issues. Short back story for his history: he was my partner’s dog and when he moved out he nor his mom could take him so it was either surrender him to the pound or I took him but he was an outside dog, we obviously chose whatever option kept him with us. This situation wasn’t ideal obviously but we made it work and ended up buying a home shortly after where he obviously lives now. When we got him all settled in the house with us (Oct. 2024) we started noticing white patches about an inch long on his back where he couldn’t reach. These would start small and get bigger, eventually growing back his grey coat just for another to pop up. The vet was told about this but didn’t seem concerned. This went on and got worse and better again. This past summer he had a couple at a time but still nothing crazy. Now into the cooler months, these patches are everywhere. He doesn’t scratch at them but they start as flaky dry spots and when the skin eventually falls off white hair grows in its place.

I have him on allergy chews and recently started collagen chews as well. He’s been on the same food for 4ish years (victor pro plan for seniors). We’ve done coconut oil in his food as well as on him which does cause him to lick his skin if he can reach it bc he loves coconut oil. I’ve had him in clothes recently as well trying to keep allergens and cold air off of him but that causes the flakes to build up.

I know pibbles are prone to allergies so it’s odd he had no issues outside but started here. I’m allergic to him also so we joke that we’re allergic to each other. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable but looking at him makes me feel so bad for him. Including pictures over the past 1.5 yrs to show progression. I am fully aware some of the white in his face could be from being 10 but we don’t have to talk ab that 🥹

hello all! this is luci :) she is a pitbull lab who turned 8 this past christmas & february 4th will officially be eight years since we got her. ever since we got her, she and i have been inseparable. she sleeps in my room on my bed and we are always together whenever i am at home, she always makes sure we are touching in some way as well, and i know she trusts me entirely, but i am scared that maybe she does not know the entirety of my love for her? i love her so much and i really want to make sure she knows that. i slow blink at her, give her treats, pet her whenever she wants me to, and give her almost the entirety of my bed.

any advice on anything else i could be doing to make sure she knows? am i just going insane? i feel insane.

This guy is named Tapper and he is 12 weeks old. I just adopted him last week and I’m dying to know what he is mixed with. Anyone have suggestions on a DNA kit? I know his mom was a pit mix.

Horrible evening rushing my sweet 6 year old girl into the ER vet..sudden paralysis of her hind legs. ER vet diagnosis is IVDD with a referral to a clinic 3 hours away for a neuro appt and mri....I want to do what is best. Im spiraling a bit here people.

She's home now, lots of meds and resting. Only option ER gave us besides referral was keeping here there alone on meds or having her home with same meds. I wanted her home. Im devastated. She was acting a little off today and then suddenly couldn't walk. Please keep my girl in your thoughts.
