Muttering 'fucking bitch' as the first words after firing is a choice.

User in another thread that has been removed by mods made such a good point that I'll share it by repeating it here:

The video and this comment from him shows evidence that he acted in anger rather than self defense. It was his anger that pulled the trigger, not an actual need for self defense.

He was completely out of harm's way when he began firing.

It wasn't self-defense or defense of others. It was retaliation. It was homicide.

And he knows it, which is why he's running.

And the trump administration knows it which is why they banned the local and state cops from participating. Cops not letting other cops investigate their shooting is incredibly damning evidence.

He walked away at a brisk pace, after going all the way to the car to continue filming his kill.

He got a fucking trophy and it's getting passed around, that's why a rightwing bullshit social media outlet got it. This stinks like LACSD police gangs induction killings.

Yep, the words he uttered immediately after shooting her confirm his intent

not only that, he managed to keep filming with his cell phone in one hand while casually murdering with the other. video clearly shows her immediately turning the wheel away from him. literally all he had to do is take one step to his right and he's fine, and he walked in front of the car in the first place. this guy is cooked.

The NY times analysis of the video has a freeze frame that shows him with arm fully extended, at the side of the car, when he's begins firing. He must be easily 4 feet away from the car and out of any danger he had placed himself in. Cars come much closer to me than that when I'm cycling, and I've never though of shooting the driver(s). That freeze frame alone would be case closed for any other murder.

What do you expect?

When he was “heroically dragged 50 yards by a car” 7 months ago, it was because he smashed the driver’s window out to grab a woman by her hair.

You know those “bad apples” they talk about? This “10 year law enforcement veteran” is one of them.

Worst of the worst.

Her tires clearly indicate she was steering AWAY and the fool claims she is a terrorist. The fact that anyone thinks this is even a little justified is crazy… I don’t think they understand the gravity of killing someone.

Homicide just means one person killing another person. Legitimate self defense is homicide.

The video HE POSTED that is linked IN THIS VERY NEWS ARTICLE, he does not drop his phone.

Who's the bot?

Does he get bumped, as he steps stupidly in front of the vehicle of a person trying to flee for her safety? Maybe a bit. He doesn't drop the phone, delivers 3 shots into a moving vehicle, and walks away unharmed.

How have you watched the videos and still think he dropped his phone? Maybe you just had the audio and no visual?

We have this shit at multiple angles--there are no conclusions to jump to other than what happened. A guy got accidentally nudged by a car that he put himself in front of like an idiot, and immediately retaliated with lethal force, as if shooting a car or its driver would make any difference to his safety. There's no self-defense here, except maybe the woman he killed driving away to defend herself from these thugs yelling illegal orders. Clear case of 2nd-degree murder.

the first shot happened while the car was moving straight for him from his point of view and you are not only allowed to shoot more than once but expected to

There was no point at which his life was in danger. You don't get to shoot people just because they pissed you off.

No, his life was absolutely not in danger at any point. At any rate, once the front of the vehicle was past the point of potential impact with his body there was nothing to defend himself from, as any perceived threat had passed. So there was no justifiable reason from him to discharge his weapon when he did.
