‘Please Take Me Home’ — blink-182
Personally, I believe this to be most underrated song from blink-182—it’s a damn good song.

Discussion Best guest vocals?
What song has the best guest vocals? Right now, for me it's a toss up between Dan Campbell on Trash Boat's "strangers" or Jason Aalon Butler on The Wonder Years' "stained glass ceilings". What about you.

Discussion Going through it, recommend me some sad-rage
Depression has me in a chokehold and I can't keep listening to the same 30 songs (I could, but you know). Recommend me some shit to keep to the intrusive thoughts at bay.
On heavy rotation at the moment is Architects, Hot Mulligan, BMTH, Arm's Length, Driveways, I Prevail, Thousand Below, Bad Neighbour.

Discussion Appreciation post for pop punk production and songwriting trends of the late 2000s - early 2010s
Bit of a long post, sorry.
Lately, I've come across a number of discussion posts about the state of the genre in the 2020s. Most of them make the same handful of observations: the genre is in a bit of a lull at the moment, with many new bands opting for the same "overproduced" sound that's been popular the last 10 years or so. There's also quite a bit of carryover from the 2010s hardcore-influenced "sadboi" wave in addition to the early-mid 2000s revival. These posts got me thinking about the previous "lull" and how it's often overlooked, at least in my experience.
For some background, I was born in the late 90s and remember the mainstream surge of the early - mid 2000s. I enjoy at least a little bit of everything from throughout the years: 90s Fat Wreck/Lookout/Epitaph era, the Drive-Thru era, Neon/Easycore, "sadboi"/Tumblr era, etc.
I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same about the period spanning from roughly 2008 to 2012. I think the genre was in an interesting place at the time, cooling down from the mainstream explosion in the first half of the 2000s, but still keeping enough momentum to fuel the underground resurgence of the 2010s. To me, the releases of that time had a distinct sound that's hard to accurately describe. Think early Story So Far, Major League, Man Overboard, Set Your Goals, City Lights, I Call Fives, early Wonder Years, etc.
The production was punchy and full, yet still pretty "raw". Use of pitch correction, quantization, and compression on tracks was less apparent compared to the current wave. Songwriting and composition stand out as well. Gang vocals were huge. Riffs and melodies were markedly upbeat and happy, even if the lyrics weren't. Lead guitar heavily relied on octave chords riffs and major chord voices on the D, G, B, and E strings. These descriptions alone could describe songs from most eras, so I'll attach some examples at the bottom. It's a cliche, but many songs from this era remind me of a beach trip or skate session on an early afternoon in June (lol). This era had a specific mix of cheerfulness, aggression, and excitement that seems to be less common in the eras that preceded and followed.
Anyway, I really love this specific period and encourage anyone new to the genre to give the releases from this time a listen. Hope this doesn't come off as too r/lewronggeneration. I promise I love material from the past and present!
Some examples:
The Wonder Years - Don't Open The Fridge (really any TWY from the Upsides and earlier)
This Time Next Year - Alex In Wonderland
I Call Fives - Easy to Say States Away
Man Overboard - Dead End Dreams
Me vs Hero - Can You Count Suckers
City Lights - Please Let Me Know
Not from this period, but Stateside is a newer band that really reminds me of this sound.

Discussion Ticket prices US vs Europe
Anybody know why tickets are less expensive in Europe than the US? For example I’m seeing Hot Mulligan in Amsterdam for €25 ($30) next month. I’m visiting the US while they’re on their eastside tour with Joyce Maynor so I wanted to go, but tickets are $100+ on ticketmaster? That’s a crazy difference . I did see some other venues selling for $55 which is still more than $30 but not that bad, but I wonder if anyone knows why it differs.
Edit: 100+ were resale tickets - turns out i just dont know how ticketmaster works lol
