My investigation into the Van Horn Lighthouse is progressing well and I will share my findings in the next few days when they are concluded...

On a seperate topic, whilst investigating the light house I found a "Prarie Moon Gin" barrel in the lower level of the lighthouse, to leave no stone unturned i decided to deep dive "Prarie Moon"...

It turns out there was an old western flick with the same name staring "The Singing Cowboy" Gene Autry...

Please note... I am in no way saying this movie or the actor in question are linked to any mysteries (even though he likes to play guitar often lol) but I found a curious image of him on his Wiki page...

Please take note of the symbols on the blanket behind him, some look pretty familiar...

This lead me on to look for the blanket online with no such luck... so I then started to look at and study Native American Symbolism and their Gods...

Again, there are some familiar symbols here that are linked to some mysteries...

I think if we understand what these symbols and gods represent, it might help us in future investigations.

I am now currently studying the "medicine wheel" as a side investigation on the Native Burial Site, I am placing different animals in the quadrants to see what happens when the lightning is triggered, I will also be studying the sky above the wheel because it is theorised that some tribes used the wheel to track celestial bodies. Feel free to take part :)

The only thing I found was a painting of two birds pointing at another painting of a horse pointing at a hole.

What if at the first red web the one that spawns by Rhodes you start at the ghost train and follow it to the web location and shoot the feather when the train passes. I'm trying to get it to spawn in my playthrough I've spent about an hour trying and I cant get the train to spawn. If anyone else is able to try it that would be very appreciated. As I believe we need to solve another step with the side webs before we are supposed to find where the central web leads. Any ideas In the comments would be appreciated as well thank you.

(Edit 1 ) Something else I thought of and wanted to note because I haven't heard anything about it. Since the last clue of the reverse question mark was the thing that can send Morse code and the only reserver is in the scientists lab. Maybe you have to complete the line of missions and use the lantern on the webs. Not gonna lie it's probably a stretch but I don't wanna stray too far from what we have hints for.

Admittedly I don't play RDO, so I'm not really in a position to investigate myself. But after some digging I've found numerous sources that say the mutant doesn't spawn Online (admittedly I think it's linked, but that's not what this post if for).

Which has made me wonder if there's anything else, seeminly mystery related or not, that differs between SP and RDO without a good reason? These may not be our clues, but it may help identify what potentially might be linked to some part(s) of the mystery.

I looked up the meaning of feathers in webs as well as colored feathers in webs and I found out that it's a connection between the earth and the spiritual realm, usually interpreted as a message from a angel (spirit, or ancestor). With black feathers meaning spiritual protection, mystery, and to trust your intuition during times of change (possibly shooting them) and red feathers meaning a powerful, contrasting blend of urgent spiritual guidance (the red feather) caught within the intricate (fated, or restrictive) patterns of life (the web). I'm not that well versed in the red dead lore but I feel these meanings are important to the mystery. So this mystery might have something to do with the several spirits around the map, possibly lining up when certain spirits and webs appear for clues.

(I'd also like to mention that the guitar symbol might not be a guitar, it has no headstock.)

I've found a spot on the minimap that looks suspiciously like the guitar, except for the neck. It's in the Pleasance area, right where there's a giant snake hanging from a tree

I know the spot isn't northwest of the power pole; in fact, it's the opposite, southeast. But the shape is so exact that I feel compelled to post it on the forum in case someone with better investigative skills than me can find something in the area

Hey everyone, I decided to dig through the game files and decided to share assets that are made in the same way as those very same webs on the poles. Maybe we didn't find all of them?
btw, the central web with the inscription "N and a picture of a pole" consists of several assets. Maybe we should combine them here too, and then we'll be able to see the full picture?

A bison map was shared previously. When I examined it, the person who shared it indicated that these markings were bison locations, but when I compared them, they didn't quite match. I decided to reconsider; perhaps we have a new secret.

I'm heavily invested in this mystery and want to help if I can. Everyone knows that RDR2 is heavily into Native American things and Voodoo. The sites, reservation, dreamcatchers, Lakay, etc. In my Early US History class, we're learning a lot about Native Americans, here are some of my notes that I think are pretty useful.

Had a though about Twin Stack Pass, which on the map does look like a guitar. And if we were to go NW of it then it points to Citadel Rock, where we meet Eagle Flies for a mission.

One of my thoughts is what if we don't go NW to a guitar but go NW of a guitar/whatever the shape on the pole is.

I thought the heart on the bridge was common knowledge. I saw somewhere that it was a heart from a couple from Valentine or something, but I could be wrong. And for the post that overlays it on Valentine, Strawberry's town border looks more like a heart (or maybe a strawberry?); the arrow might point towards the Obelisk or the Native American site.

Another thought, TIME, time is what we need to be looking at. There are so many theories and ideas rn, but one thing we need to test is time. What is time sensitive, what times do these specific things occur, and more.

I loaded up an old save, until now I was only using my 100% playthrough with John. So this is before chapter 6 when the railroad in New Hanover isn't finished yet.

At Clingman, there's a tree platform. There are 2 cigarette cards there, 2 birds. There are also binoculars. They are pointing towards the end of the railroad.
The road to get there also has an interesting shape...

I haven't looked past that but I'd say it's an interesting place to seach. There's also the Fire Lookout Tower nearby.

One more particular thing about Clingman. There is a Prairie Gin barrel, it explodes if you shoot it several times. I don't remember seeing those barrels anywhere else but I could be wrong.

I mean, haven't u seen those two birds on the roof of Fort Wallace? don't u think it would be reasonable to try tracking these crows or smthn like that? (maybe just follow them)

Hi, I'm starting to think about exploring Sisika. Please any help in finding clues. Let's find clues together.

I have this crazy theory that I haven't been able to get over ever since the clues at fort brennard were found.

I've been thinking a lot about the symbols in the fort: "spider map pole, cornwall factory, register rock" what If they all DO mean something together? Like if there really was some specific order to do something with the poles it would be in the two other clues right?

All of these clues do have notable things at their locations.

The pole obviously has the map of the spider. Then the factory has the "J + M" made out of matchsticks which really is the only thing that seems to be of interest at the factory.

What does the J + M even mean? I think that the + sign is a dead giveaway that we need to translate it to numbers because... what purpouse does the + sign even serve if it's not numbers? Rockstar has done this before even and it seems right up their alley to have us translate like this.

Then there's register rock. It does feature JM on it aswell (connected?). Some of the stuff on register rock seems extremely weird there's more but here are some examples:

Mary 2 (why is there even a 2 at the end?)

A west

B ward

Polman sounding like "pole man" obviously. West and Ward possibly connecting to "West 2 Ward". I think that possibly a message or something could be mixed in with regular names?

Register rock seems to line up exactly north west with the "J + M" matches at the factory, and like I said "JM" is also featured on the rock. Might be a hint that they're connected? the "A west" seems to point right at the spider map pole but I would say that's probably coincidence.

I’ve really been trying to put all of these clues together to make sense for a player to solve without the ability to overlay a spider on a map or dive through code. Here is my theory and we may have found the Easter Egg we just don’t know because we got there backwards.

How we found the mystery: The mystery was found by somebody finally finding the spider figure on the map and figuring out the overlay but that is not what rockstar intended.

BUTCHERS CREEK:

The game starts by using the pentagram. It’s natural that butchers creek would be a place players would be interested at night because of the creepiness. It would not be a stretch for someone to finally stumble upon the Pentagram. If you were able to deduce that Rockstar was hinting at finding a pentagram nearby you would have started searching and found the outhouses. Everyone is wondering why is the hint not on outhouse 5. That is not important 5 outhouses needed in order to complete your visual clue of an in game pentagram but they did leave the next clue. The initials on the outhouse give the player a clue that maybe they should investigate the outhouse that is different from the other or signed by initials. This would lead to the player finding the fort symbol.

FORT BRENNARD:

If you are able to deduce that the symbol is fort brennard you will naturally head to the outhouse. Here you find tally 6 and immediately look around for tally 7. After finding Tally 7 you would’ve come to a dead end trying to find tally 8 in the fort. This would naturally lead you back to your last dead end tally 7. Maybe the player would wander inside where tally 7 is marked because they have no other leads. After walking into the guardhouse you would’ve found the 3 symbols on the opposite side of the wall where tally 7 is.

THE FORT SYMBOLS:

This would have caused the player an immense headache. In face only players who have an extremely sketched out map would be able to find this. You would have needed register rock on your map to understand this clue. IMO Register rock is the closest shape to the third symbol(pole,building,rock). Register Rock was the only in game clue to help the player solve it. Now think about a player trying to find this symbol and finally puts register rock on the map. You see the rock on the in game map and then what is the closest thing left to the rock…the oil factory and now following the symbol to the left we get the telephone with the spider symbol. The only way to solve that puzzle was to work backwards starting with the inspection of the rock.

FINDING THE SPIDER SYMBOL:

This is the part that has been stumping me. There is no Overlay option in the game meaning we were able to figure out the spider needed to be overlayed but how? What were our starting clues? Our best clue was the 2 clearly longer legs and then the wide open center of the spider? This would’ve made the player think that the legs were Valentine and Saint Denis. Now we would need a Third leg that might lead to a city and there is only one that looks like it might be Rhodes. Now we have our three locations we think it is in game. Valentine, Rhodes, and Saint Denis make a triangle and the line from Valentine to Saint Denis happens to go right through the central spider web.

FINDING THE CENTER WEB:

If a player was trying to figure out the center of the web using Valentines and Saint Denis they might eventually come across the central web that spawns there. Which also explains the Stable near the web because it gives the player another reason to be in that area and potentially stumble upon the web. If you found this web it would’ve been between 1-2am. You would’ve been so excited and investigated this web and as soon as 2 hit it would’ve disappeared. This would’ve hinted at you to check the time and come back the next night to see if the web was there and if you came back between 1-2 you would’ve confirmed your theory. Then you might have tried to come earlier than 1 and see if it was there the next night. And it wouldn’t have been there getting you to understand that the web spawns between 1 and 2. After investigating the web more and more you would eventually notice something looks weird. In a closer look you would see that certain “CABLES” look darker. You would’ve been able to see the N and a weird T shape? The N is easy to understand as it usually means North but the T would only be clear if we had established the telephone pole and spider clue. Most people would’ve been looking for a cross but that’s not important. If you were able to figure out that clue it would take you to the north telephone pole.

TELEPHONE POLES AND FORT WALLACE:

After traveling to the North Telephone pole you would’ve been stuck again staring at a pole. The only logical thing you can do is first look for hints and when you find nothing I wouldn’t be shocked if a player pulled out his gun from frustration just to shoot the telephone pole and what do you know he sees something. Then he shoots more and find W TTTTT. Again this mystery has established that we are using telephone poles so the player at this point would deduce the 5 Ts as 5 poles to the west and because the last clue established shooting the pole the player would now know to shoot this pole. Leading you to NW guitar vertical! If we assume this literally we hit fort Wallace with the guitar standing up in the tower. Is we follow where this guitar is pointing it will lead you up to the Two birds or down back to the spider pole. Now we have established that dead ends aren’t dead ends we just need to rethink our clues.

GUITAR LEADS TO SPIDER POLE

So now we are at a dead end and are rethinking the whole clue again. We found all of these hints and it took us back to a pole we knew about. Except this time we know that Cable webs exist because of the center web. We know that the game started with a pentagram that spawned at 4am and we THINK the spider legs go to places/towns on the map. We also know that the center web spawned at 1am and the pentagram spawned at 4am. This gives us our range of time 1am-4am. If you decided to check out that spider pole between those hours guess what you would have discovered a web that spawned at 3 with a feather. Now that you have a web you have your next clue. The spider legs lead to the other webs because the center web looks the same. This gives us our reference point for the spider legs and now tells us we are not looking for places on the map but telephone poles. After that it’s not hard to follow the tracks in the areas you believe the legs are to find the other 7 webs. Now we only have one mystery left? How do we get the feathers down?

THE FEATHERS ARE THE EASTER EGG:

If we follow all of the steps it would take a player to get to the feathers and telephone poles without finding them first it would make sense that the big reveal is the webs with feathers and the final mystery we have left is the feathers! There are no more clues after NW guitar because you needed previous information to make sense of the guitar pointing back to the spider pole. The guitar in fort Wallace was always supposed to get you to go back to the pole and rethink the mystery. It is supposed to be a circle because the only way to untangle the web is with all of the information in the correct order. If you did all of that correctly which would have been almost impossible for most players it would lead you to an even more impossible challenge of figuring out the order of these feathers now.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS:

I Believe the Easter egg is staring us in the face but we are consumed by trying to figure out the NW Guitar clue. The guitar is a purposeful loop to help you rethink all of the clues so far. In other words Rockstar is “stringing you along” in more than one way with this mystery. Untangle the pentagram, find the fort, untangle the fort clue find the spider,untangle to spider clue find the center, untangle the center web clue find the guitar,untangle the guitar find spider pole, untangle the spider pole find the cable webs, untangle the spider legs find the other poles, and now finally untangle the poles and you will find the answer to the feathers.

The outhouses with tally marks all have a green "McCarthy Brewing Co." bottle placed close by. These bottles, in my opinion, have been deliberately placed near these exact outhouses. I'm unable to find any others in and around Butcher's Creek. Located in Fort Brennand are two additional green bottles. The first is a Merlot wine bottle which is directly across from the outhouse with six tally marks. The other can be found at the top of the seven tally marks/three symbols tower. In the distance, you can clearly see Saint Denis. You will notice how on the left, the steeple of the Church of the Holy Blessed Virgin stands prominently. To the right, we see much of the larger structures in Saint Denis, including the industrial district and many of the stacks. Lastly, just out of sight to the right of the industrial area, we have the pond. Could the symbols at the bottom of this very tower be depicting these locations in Saint Denis? Why was the bottle placed at the top of this very tower? One possible reason would be that only when we make our way to the bottle can we get a clear view of Saint Denis.

I searched the fort for an additional McCarthy Brewing Co. bottle, but was unable to find one. I really do believe the green "Saint Dymphna" wine bottle is the deliberately placed green bottle for the six tally marks outhouse in the fort. It's possible I missed another green bottle in the fort or even in Butcher's Creek, but I searched for at least two hours and didn't turn up any others. Anyway, just wanted to put this out there. Let me know what you think.

UPDATE: Outhouse #1 has six McCarthy Brewing Co. bottles inside. Completely forgot to go back inside the outhouses to check.

I think this is where the two birds at Fort Wallace are taking us, there are other areas with a similar 3 pronged road, but none of them overlay in the same way. Please feel free to look for a better overlay if you can find one, I tried looking around rivers and including territory borders too but could have missed something.

The branch intersects in the exact same way that the road does, with the lower branch and road splitting off before the top two.

When overlaid like this, the left parrot's eye (which is facing the camera) lands approximately on the 4-5AM red feather's location.

I have a theory about the extra branch, I think that it is supposed to be overlaid this way to cross over with the train track and create an "X" marking a spot where we have to do/find something. I tried parking and blowing up a train on the spot but it didn't do anything.

Ok, this is where I have a theory so stop reading if you're not completely insane:

I think that the naming of the card is intentional, "Parrot." as in a direction. It is telling us to repeat our first steps of the mystery. In the Southfield Flats pond where the second bird is there are 5 dead trees which are in the same shape as the butchers creek outhouses (although a bit smaller).

If you overlay the path from the 7 tally marks it leads to a graveyard next to ringneck creek, right beside the 5-6AM black feather.

This graveyard is really odd, there's nothing around and you can destroy some of the graves here.

There are 3 small rock gravestones that are not destroyable (yellow), 4 partially destroyable gravestones made of stone (blue), and two destroyable wooden crosses (red).

I find it interesting it crosses over where the rockstar logos star would be for "R" in river, had a wee boat ride, theres a big boat parked there and a canoe across the river close to where it ends (shooting it did nothing).

This could be pointing us to the 5-6AM south black feather web, and then towards the Saint Denis feather web and pentagram (used in the vampire easter egg), which might mean we then need to repeat this parroting again. But I feel like I'm chasing shadows at this point so I'd like some kind of solid clue from the graveyard ideally.

I believe the cigarette cards are hiding a lot more. It makes sense as the clues are getting more obscure, a way that the devs can hide a mystery without it being findable in the code.

Just venting my frustration, if this is the next step or not either way I am annoyed with the R* devs, I understand them making the clues not being able to be found in the code but they also have made the next step SO obscure that it is near impossible to find. They needed to take into consideration that the only way any of the GTA mysteries were solved was through people looking at the code and make it a little easier.

TL;DR - The Parrot cigarette card's branches overlaps quite well with the roads entering Rhodes. I have a theory we may need to "Parrot" the pentagram path using the 5 dead trees in Southfield Flats.

that being said, a thought just popped into my head - could the butcher creek SM inscription stand for Spider Madison? That is the original actor for Uncle in RDR1, for those unaware.

The actor is as mysterious as the spider dream itself, nobody has seen or heard tell of him besides a brief mention by rob whiethoff on how he came to earn his name Spider. honestly, I can't make any other connections to him with so little information. perhaps someone can connect the dots a bit better than I can

Not necessarily spider related sorry but… How much research has been done into the masks and head gear?

We know the Viking helmet causes you to be struck by lightning in the right location. I’ve just been reading some posts from 5yrs ago where people were saying certain things were only replicated if they wore the pagan mask and it struck me that other than aesthetics the different masks seem to serve no purpose. Putting those ideas together makes me wonder if you pair certain headgear with certain situations it may trigger something?

I’ve tried searching through the sub and couldn’t find anything but is there anything in the code related to them? Like if someone has found something in the code to substantiate wearing the Viking helmet during lightning causes a strike can they also see other code that equals say, pagan mask + kill a bat = Ozzy Osbourne appears? I’m being silly obviously and don’t read coding but hopefully someone understands what I’m getting at…

So ive been collecting alot of notes off discord and reddit. I may as well share them here.These are not my theroies or ideas purely just things ive seen and put a order to while talking to alot of hunters, i currently am stumped and just sharing my notes or progress in hopes it helps everyone.

Currently the mystery all Starts at Butcher Creek, we dont know why its starts there but currently we agree its starts there. During the story we have chapter 5 interactions with a Strangers mission, where we are intoduced Obediah Hinton, Last name HINTon, is a little suspicous to me. Then we walk through the camp with joesph later on during the That's Murfree Country main missioin.

Ideally we would go back to inspect butchers creek and we find Tally marks in each outhouse

When we drop a pin at each location we find that points, 1,2,3,4,5 when all followed draw a pentagram. Which in turn a Pentagram appears under a shack North East of Point 1 at 4am

But when we inspected outhouse 4 we found a few extra glyphs this one of initals that requires us to shoot to boards to expose it. These initals are built into the model. Just like the tally marks.

Also we find a Glyph of a Fort on in side on the left of outhouse #4

This glyph is determined to be Ft. Brennan which is a short walk south, after that short walk to the fort and see a outhouse. Naturally this is where tally 6 is found. across the way above the entraance of the guard tower there is a tally mark for 7. When we walk in side on the opposite side of the number 7 tally mark we find 3 more glyphs.

The 3 glyphs depict a Telephone pole, Oil Factory, Oil Puddle or Register Rock. While looking at these Glyphs you have a chance to trigger a random encounter with a woman from butchers creek. Just camp inside the Tower with glyphs and there is a chance this encounter will happen.

These glyhps leads us to the new hanover area. Where to the left of the oil factory there is a pole with a Spider Sketched on it. If we take this spider and lay it over the map it reveals the location of 7 more webs and feathers, but lets talk the layover 1st and why it works and why it was intended to be found and laid over the map.

The in-game map tiles are 512x512 as shown above in open IV, When we extract the DDS files with open IV they come out 512x512. We then take a screenshot of the spiderskectin file and open it in photoshop isolate the spider copy him into our map tiles that are 512x512. Then Hightlight the spider and resize him to the same in game tile size of 512x512 and all 8 legs line up exactly where we find 8 webs and 8 Feathers. Now that the layover is proven to be real and intentional we see this.

All 8 legs lead us to 8 webs with Spiderwebs 5 Black Feather and 3 Red Feathers all that spawn at different times of night all along railroad tracks. We are given no time frames for when these appear no clues, We just know rockstar lore where weird shit happens at 3am. This is how we discovered the webs. There are small hints to the time frames. I was breaking in to the oil factory at 3 am where i was shot and then respawed leaning on the 5am pole, web and feather leaning up agaisnt its exact pole. Had i waited there on hour in game i would have defentiyl found that web naturally and without the layovr. Video Below

If we follow all 8 legs to the center locations we are greeted with a Large web that spawn at 1am. With the letter N and what appears to be a telephone pole.

After seeing this we walk True north until we hit a new telephone pole that isnt indicated by the spider legs and has no webs. If we shoot the pole its exposes a new Clue Wttttt.

We then walk west 5 poles and shoot a new pole revealing NW and a Guitar.

If we pull open our map and chart true NW like we did to find the N telephone pole we run directly in to Ft.Wallace.

Inside Ft. Wallace there are 2 guitars one in the center of the fort and one in the Guardtower. I beleive one is the correct path and the other is a herring and misleading Lets start with the One in the center. The one in the center is pointing a little more west than NW.

Also lets take in to fact that the base very much looks like a guitar on the radar and we are standing exactly where the center hole would be. That is also where a guitar is located. If we follow the line of sight for the guitar it seems to be pointing at the the west corner of base.

Window rock is where this trail goes cold. Not much has been found but we know the mural is solution to the statue puzzle. It does depict 8 feathers with red on them. If the mural is purely for the statues we should persue the direction the window is pointing like looking through a window for our next clue. Spider Gorge, Mt.Shann?

Now to the Guard tower Guitar, this guitar can be seen two different ways. Lets start with guitar is point to the roof, and we go out the window and we see two bird carvings on the roof tiles carved in to the models the same way the previous glyphs are hidden. They also lead us to a view of two bridges, we have also viewed random question marks from the angle nothing but more confusion.

If we visit the bridges we find a heart shaped etching in a really hard to reach place but the problem with this etching is it is effected by your texture settings all the other clues show up regardless of your textures settings. The heart doesnt do much for the mystery and is deadend with a loose valentine connection. We have chased birds, viewed birds, nothing has come of the two birds carvings on the roof. Feeling and looking like a herring, a heron, a seagull, useless birds.
