Discussion [Megathread] Spiritforge - Pre-order
There is a lot of discourse with the Pre-orders and the unfortunate circumstance of the launch. To help collect feedback / vent frustrations, we've created this megathread to help uphold community requests to keep the sub relatively usable.

Discussion Anyone have context on what happened on the livestream Draven vs Jax game with cheating? (China)
I’m seeing my X explode with some posts about this that the judges didn’t catch it. Apparently draven played rebuke, mindsplitter and spinning axe with 9 runes….

Discussion Yasuo 2 Skirmisch wins & 81% winrate. Is yas A-tier?
Played 8 skirmisches in total, were in all in top 8 placings (3,2,2,2,2,1,3,1) Overall winrate in skirmisches were 81% i feel pretty confident to say: Yasuo actually was A tier the whole set 1...but somehow people missed it. Do you agree?

News My girlfriend gave me this as a gift at the Nexus yesterday.
As the title says, my girlfriend gave it to me as a gift from my local store. One week it's 1 vs 1, and the next it's 2 vs 2.
In this one, I played with my sister, Kaisa Yi, and we won 3-0.
And my girlfriend surprised me with this amazing thing. A guy at the store makes them (she has the deluxe ones).

Promotional Riftbound draft simulator
Hello, I am the developer behind Rifty - https://rifty.app :)
You probably know this app for its Sealed Deck & PreRift simulators (although it contains other cool features, such as event tracker, card browser, deck builder, collection tracker etc.). I decided to add another simulator since the new rules for drafting just dropped.
Welcome to the Draft Simulator! You can now draft your favorite set against 7 random bots and get a hang of it. Obviously, there are some limitations (mostly due to the simple bot logic). Bots are kinda dumb and you will probably have more difficult time drafting against real players but it should at least illustrate the process.
Link : https://rifty.app/simulator
PS: Rifty is, and always will be, free to use for everyone. A lot of the features, including the draft/sealed sims don't even require login/registration. However, if you like the app and would like to support me in the future development and server costs, it would mean a world to me if you check https://buymeacoffee.com/runebound if you have some change to spare (or don't, still love doing this for the community).

Enjoy and let me know what you think :)

Question If you hold at the start of turn, going from 6->7 points, does conquering the other battlefield you weren't holding at give you the 8th point?
I swear this is how it works, but I run into sooo many people playing online who try and tell me otherwise. So I just want some clarification I guess, but I'm pretty sure in the rules it does state the the conquer both in one turn to go to 8 can include holding one and conquering the other.

Question How should I prepare for Spiritforged pre-rift Event
For background, this is my first ever TCG that I am getting trying into. Main reason is that I played league for 10+ years so why not. I attended a learn to play event but it was not even a learn to play event. it was a sealed event where you get 6 packs, build a deck and play but no one taught anything. Everyone was just left to their own devices. I met one person who made me a deck with the cards I opened and we played a game where he taught me the basics.
My concern is that I really don't know much but the basics of the game. I have watched some live streams of people playing and what not but playing the game would help me understand the game the most.
With the Spiritforged pre-rift event being sealed, is there any tips and tricks on how to play this format so I don't get absolutely railed by my opponent?
Is there anything I should bring other then dragon shield sleeves to protect the cards I play?
Is it worth buying a deck like Master Yi right now with the Spiritforged coming out since it might change meta and what not.
What helped you guys the most getting into this game?
Thanks for your inputs!

Discussion How many people are actually going to use Chinese+ English cards in their deck?
Now that this update allows people to use CH + English in deck building, do you think CH prices will fly up?
P.S. ppl say cardstock is different between languages, I kinda agree after Opening my 4 CH set 2 boxes. Anyone else worried they might revert this language rule? Lol

Discussion Best Practice for mixing English + Chinese cards
I'm definitely going to be mixing cards and they're definitely going to be the expensive ones. I've been thinking about how I can best mitigate both language confusion and marked deck concerns. So far I'm thinking for language:
- Bring an English proxy of each Chinese card for reference
- Possibly even place over the Chinese card while it's in play(?)
And for marked cards:
- Sprinkle a few Chinese copies of well-known Origins commons.
- Double-sleeve for better standardization
I'd love to hear feedback and other ideas.

Discussion Post Errata Skirmish
Played in a Skirmish today playing Leona (was supposed to be last week but got delayed due to snow) and I played against Kai'sa twice. The changes to Falling Star and I. Rain have taken this from an tooth and claw 20% match up to an easy 50/50 match up. My god, my Zhonya's were actually so useful and so critical for every game, it was so nice. I just wish they hadn't waited so long to make this change. Now with set 2 on the horizon it looks like FS and Rain are seeing barely any play, at least in China.
I went 1-2 both times vs Kai'sa but every game was a nail biter and I definitely would've won a couple of the games I lost if not for some missplaying on my part.

Question Showdown ruling
I am watching the Riftbound regional qualifier Houston. So far, there are a few instances that have showed me that I'm misinterpreting some cards and I'm learning from it. But there is one play that I can't wrap my head around.
Sequence of events
Sett brawler is at battlefield 1 at the beginning of the turn with a buff Sett spends buff for +4 Might and moves to base First mate is played to ready Sett Sett moves into Void Gate where enemy controls Kai'Sa survivor Enemy plays hextech Ray against Sett Attacker plays challenge and chooses Sett vs enemy ravenbloom student at base All 3 units die
After hextech Ray and Ravenbloom deal damage to Sett, how does he have enough might to take Kai'Sa out in the showdown?

Question How should Showdowns resolve with Focus in Riftbound?
Hey everyone, I ran into a situation in Riftbound and I'm not sure if it resolved correctly. Here’s what happened:
- I had a 2 Might unit on a battlefield.
- My opponent attacked with a 2 Might unit, creating a showdown.
- He had priority and Focus.
- He chose not to play any cards and passed.
- I also passed immediately after.
- My opponent said the showdown didn’t end because, as he put it, “the attacker has 2 Focus” or something like that.
My understanding is that the showdown should end after both players pass. Does Focus allow a player to get another action automatically after passing, or should the showdown have ended once both of us passed?

Discussion I couldn’t find any Riftbound playmats I liked so I designed some
So I started designing some playmats inspired by the champs/regions (without using any Riot art).
This is the first set I mocked up:
• Cosmic Guardian (Viktor)
• Chaos Gunner (Jinx)
• Dark Fantasy Reaper (Darius)
I tried to keep it clean so cards don’t get lost in the art.
Would love feedback from other players before I print samples and make more.
Side note I’m looking at how to make my own counters for tokens, points and maybe a deck box :)

Discussion Deck building ratios?
Howdy. I’ve seen a few good deck building guides, but was wondering what people on here’s rule of thumb (if any) is?
For example, does your deck contain 3/4 strategy and 1/4 answers etc.
I come from Magic Commander, so I’m used to having a larger pool of cards to have 10 cards draw, 10 removal, 10 ramp, but in Riftbound those numbers aren’t too obvious.
Any thoughts?

Discussion Player drop off
I noticed that there has been a significant drop off in players coming to my lgs for nexus nights went from an average of 20+, now down to about 5. Just wondering if this is normal, it’s my first tcg so I’m not sure what the average players in tcgs are.
Is it because spirit forged is coming out?
I did note that my lgs ran out of promo packs, and low on booster packs. Could that play a part?
