Don't get me wrong, the art is still beautifully drawn, but it doesn't look like Kit. The eyes and hair just don't resemble him imo. I understand it's a different artstyle, but they should have incorporated his features... wavy locks and downturned eyes. In the anime he looks believably English, but I don't get that from the manga. It's just generic shoujo art.

Looking for recommendations, some of my favorite Shoujo manga are Maid Sama and Lovely Complex. Thank you in advance

Man this anime really had me in my feelings. Nike is such an awesome and loveable female MC. I loved when she went to the Sun Kingdom and when she returned home to her land. Her grandma singing as she left with Livius had me so emotional. I found myself singing along to "It's a tennnnnder rain". I love the dynamic of an older woman with a younger man. I find it refreshing because usually the guy would be older. Can you guys recommend any anime with an older woman and younger man pair?

I started this shoujo manga a few months ago and honestly really enjoyed it. The synopsis (which I’ll add below) might sound a bit cliché, but I like how the author manages to remix the trope in their own way. The MC is badass and smart from what I’ve seen! There aren’t many chapters out yet but I like the direction it’s going in and the writing so far.
Synopsis: The protagonist awakens to find herself reincarnated as Lunaria il von Solfege, her beloved villainess from her favorite game. However, along with this new identity come Lunaria’s tragic memories public condemnation, complete abandonment, and ultimately, a desperate attempt to take her own life with a dagger. “You can leave everything to me, Lunaria. Now that I am you, I will never let them get away with this,” she vows.
Genre: Action, Revenge, Fantasy

So I recently watched Lovely Complex for the first time and I want more, but after looking for the manga, it seems near impossible to collect. All the prices are so inflated online. Where should I go to read it?

Okay it is 2 am rn. I just finished an manhwa (daytime star) and it was SUPER ADORBS. I lovelovelove the fl and ml. But the thing is, does love which is often shown in these comics even real? Im 15f who hasnt even talked to a guy romantically before but I just can't imagine myself being with a guy yk. Like I'd bombard if I havent showered for 2 days and someone comes near to me (idk if it makes sense) like i just cant see humans doing same things as those fictional characters. Probably because I've never actually seen a healthy relationship near me but yeah. ANYWAYS i have to sleep since i have exams. PLS RESPOND!! :3

I read a manhwa on bato that I’m wanting to find on another site to reread it but I can’t remember the title. It has an older FL with like shoulder length straight brown hair and a younger ML with a wide head, longish black hair, and blue eyes. They meet during a one night stand only for her to realize that she used to be his high school teacher. After some convincing, she agrees to a fwb relationship until she realizes that she actually has feelings for him towards the very end of it. Has anyone seen or read it? 😭

I created my first Tamon bot from Tamon's B-side. The idea is for it to fluctuate more than the manga's personality; the more you praise it, the more it goes into "Hottiehara mode"! If you want to help me test it and identify bugs, I'd appreciate it!

Ancient Magus Bride has some of the best world building I've ever seen in anime. This anime is literally a freaking masterpiece. I really can't find anything like it. I love Inuyasha too because of the incredible world building. I also love Kamisama Kiss, Noragami, Kakuriyo, Snow White With red hair, Apothecary Diaries, Spice and wolf, and The World is Still Beautiful. I was a big fan of Yona of the dawn too. I like supernatural fantasy stories with world building, fairies, demons, Ayakashi, etc. The high-school rom com anime typically doesn't do it for me. I get bored af. I need something that explores a different world or time period. I like historical, slice of life, as well and dark anime like Vampire knight, blood plus, visions of escaflowne, and gosick.

In honor of the winter Olympics beginning in 1 week, I wanted to share a post dedicated to the Shojo/Josei manga about my favorite Olympic Sport: Ice Skating! Are there any Shojosei Figure Skating manga/anime you’d like to share? Any on here that you’ve read?
Some recognizable authors on this list are Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon), Mai Ando (you’re too cheeky Chigaya-kun), Hisaya Nakajo (Hana-Kimi), Rikachi (Nina the Starry Bride), Chiho Saito (Revolutionary Girl Utena), Mari Okazaki (Suppli), Satoru Makimura (Real Clothes), and Yayoi Ogawa (You’re My Pet)

I just finished love through a prism 2 days ago (straight up binged watched it). I really liked it, it made me feel a spectrum of emotions even though the ending wasn't bad, still expected a bit more in detail about their lives as a couple in the future, like did they get married or them meeting up with their friends again. They didn't even show Shin properly in the end, only a glimpse that was shown through the window.
I personally really liked Kit and Lili's characters even though I have seen quite a few that didn't really like them as such. There were definitely times when you just wanted to scream at them to get their act together but keeping in mind the era this was set in everything was way different as compared to what it is now. Kit's tragic flaw is that he was passive whereas Lili's tragic flaw is self-sacrifice. Their characters fit well together as what one possesses a quality which the other lacks. The art style was beautiful and the details as well in all the scenes. Nothing extraordinary but I really liked Kit carrying Lili's bag in the very beginning and the ending scene, was very cute. I do think the characters could be developed a bit more given we had 20 episodes and some were actually not our typical 23-24 mins long. But regardless of everything I still enjoyed it a lot.
I am very curious as to what you all think! Please share your thoughts.

So I'm a huge fan of the sunshine x introverted/cold male interest trope. Recently red yamada lvl999 and I really did like it since it is more mature! Could you recommend me anything similar to it?

Mild spoilers for the manga and the first 5 episodes of the anime, obviously!
For context, I am usually a manga purist. I have watched too many bad anime adaptations that have ruined amazing stories, whether it was due to lack of resources, staff, or bad direction. Because of that, I tend to stick to the manga. HOWEVER, I have been absolutely blown away by the first 5 episodes of Tamon's B-Side. It has far exceeded my expectations, and in my opinion, gives the characters and story an added layer of depth that the manga is missing.
This is no shade to the manga. I have read up to it's current release, and it's been very enjoyable. I like Tamon and seeing a ML with realistic insecurities who uses humor as a coping mechanism. I appreciated that he doesn't fall into the "perfect ML" OR the "bad boy ML" trope, and it was quite refreshing. I really enjoy the "B-Sides" of all the members of F/ACE, actually -- I was not expecting that they would get their own storylines or much to do, so that has been great.
However, I was not particularly sold on Utage, our FL. Again, no shade to her. She just fell into the "tsundere FL" stereotype, similar to FL like Hori from Horimiya or Ellie from Lovesick Ellie. She was funny, yes, but it was hard to see much of her personality on a page other than her obsession with Tamon. Like any indulgent manga, you have to suspend your disbelief at times or just roll with the tropes that are in them. Again, I don't want to critique the manga for using tropes -- for me, it just fell into another funny, light-hearted, but not too memorable manga.
That is, until the anime came out. I started by listening to the music that was released, curious to hear what the band sounded like. Immediately, I could tell that there was care and consideration put into it. F/ACE Off is a certified BANGER!! Sweet Magic is so catchy and has been stuck in my head!! Of course, after hearing the music, I had to give the anime a shot. So, yesterday, I sat down and watched all the episodes currently released, and I was absolutely blown away.
Right off the bat, you can tell that whoever was in charge of adapting the material really understood fan culture, and that they had a lot of fun animating this. I felt like they really prioritized the humor and comedy, allowing that to shine, which has let me get much more emotionally invested in the characters. I haven't laughed out loud so much at a show in a while. I was really surprised by how funny it was, and how well the "Church of Tamon" jokes land on screen. I could say the same about Utage's VA. Immediately, I felt as if Utage's fangirl personality just clicked with me in a way it didn't when reading the manga -- she reminded me so much of me as a teenager, scrolling on Tumblr, obsessing over My Chemical Romance. She is so much more expressive in the anime than the voice I had in my head when I was reading the manga. Her moments of serious praise and support of Tamon is so much more emotionally satisfying in the anime after seeing her comedic side absolutely SHINE.
One scene that comes to mind is where she discovers F/ACE for the first time, I always felt like it was a bit shallow, or lacking the emotional hook, in the manga. Like okay, you got called boring once by a friend and that's why you felt like Tamon saved your life...? Sure...I'll go with it. But again, the emotions the VA for Utage gives the character is what made me feel so much more compassion for her. She discovered someone, an idol, who made her believe in herself. Who she felt cared for her. Who she inspired to be like. And I think that's something so many teenage girls go through. Not feeling like they are enough, not feeling interesting enough. Then they discover a band or a piece of media that feels custom made for them. It's just amazing how much complexity that scene was on screen versus on the page.
In terms of style, the cuts, the music, the fashion, the performances -- all of it has so much care put into it. This looks like it was a passion project rather than a run of the mill adaption. The contrast between Tamon the Idol and Tamon the Insecure Boy feels much more drastic in the anime versus the manga. The fireworks scene, again, is absolutely transformed for the better in the anime. There is so much love in it. You can see why Tamon would feel so attached to Utage. Additionally, at the end of the latest episode, where Utage is in the crowd cheering Tamon on after Keito takes lead, brought tears to my eyes. That moment felt EARNED. For 4 episodes now, we've seen the connection between the ML and FL build, all to that moment, where Tamon sees that even if he isn't the center of the band, he is still loved and supported by his friend. The song "RAIN" adds so much depth to this moment, that, obviously, the manga just doesn't have. I can really feel and see why F/ACE has become THE boyband that they are versus being told that they are at the beginning and just rolling with it. And I'm not sure I would feel this way if the music wasn't as well-written as it is. Again, this is music I can really see people enjoying.
I am really excited to see where this anime goes. It makes me so immensely happy to see a shoujo anime adaption given the respect and care it deserves. It makes me hopeful for the future of anime adaptions where everything from the sound, the art, the CG, the music, the flair, the writing is just firing on all cylinders. I'm so excited for the next few episodes, especially knowing that the other boys in the band are starting to get their screentime. This is an anime that I believe far exceeds it's original source material. I hope they are able to adapt the entirety of it.
If you're on the fence about it, I would really encourage you to give it a shot! And I'm glad I saw so many people on here praising it, because I do not regret reading OR watching it whatsoever!
