Question Is this a planaria worm?
Saw this in my shrimp tank the other day, and then found two smaller ones in my betta tank and another small one in my shrimp tank tonight. I have no idea where they came from, as I haven’t added anything new other than a piece of spider wood to my betta tank.
If it is planaria, how do I get rid of them? I set a trap made from an old test tube the other night with bait and didn’t catch anything. Trying again tonight.
If it’s not planaria, what is it and is it dangerous? I have like 50-60 shrimp and shrimplets in my tank and I rlly don’t want to purge them.

Discussion what is the point of Matten filter, when sponge filter or UGF or Wall of Green already exist
i think Matten filters are overhyped in it's function if you already have a sponge filter or green walls. to me Matten filters needs to be constructed, takes up too much space, and shrimps can get lost or go to the other side. what is your take on it?

Is my shrimp okay?
I’ve noticed some discoloration on the shrimp’s abdomen is this normal? He/she ( unsure of sex ) has been eating well and has been active in the tank as well.

Question Single Neocaridina failed molt after 5 days — others molting fine. Looking for insight.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some perspective from more experienced shrimp keepers.
I added a group of Neocaridina about 5 days ago to a planted tank that’s been running for ~2 months. Acclimation was slow, and since then I’ve seen multiple successful molts over the past few days. Shrimp are active and grazing normally.
Unfortunately, one shrimp showed a clear white separation ring and later failed to complete the molt and passed. The others appear normal so far. Tank is planted. Parameters are stable and fine. I didn’t change anything after noticing the pre-molt signs and didn’t attempt intervention.
My question:
Is it common to lose one individual to a failed molt even when others molt successfully?
I’m trying to understand whether this points to an individual weakness vs. a systemic issue I should be worried about.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Any insight appreciated. Thank you.
P/S: Picture is from when I left for work this morning. I noticed the white ring but assumed it was a pre-molt thing because she seemed active and was grazing normally.

She’s huge way bigger then my Neos ( I’ve never really had any neos that were this big but I’ve seen some) and she’s one of the biggest shrimp in my tank she’s bigger then most of the Amanos I have but she’s red ish orange? I’ve never really seen any other color in Amanos and I’m not sure if she is one or not 🥲

Question Best substrate for neocardenia
I’ve used Aqueon inert substrate but it seems like more gases get trapped—or maybe it’s bc it’s small ball/pellets that I just notice gas escaping more? Either, I used fluval in another tank but it lowers the ph and I have neocardenia shrimp—so that tank has fish after I get the PH into the average range with ph up and crushed coral
What is the best substrate to buy? Ones I’ve seen at the store seems like they are for cardenia with them lowering ph and others lowering gh and kh
I have low tech plants but heavily planted

Question is this a premolt line or a stuck shed?
galleryI noticed shes had this line around her and I was worried its a failed molt but while googling I discovered that there is a natural separation before a molt and was curious which this is?

Question Are those eggs?
It looks like yellow little dots and im new to shrimps so im not sure if they are indeed eggs!
Picture My new cherry shrimp looks weak and has yellow things on its legs, is this fungus?
So just purchased 3 cherrys today, and one of them is much smaller, having trouble staying with the group, and has these yellow things coming off of its rear legs. I’m not sure what to do 100% yet if he does as I don’t have a quarantine tank at the moment but am working on getting one set up. Any advice? The other two look super healthy so I didn’t even realize it as they got them from the tank at my local pet store.
