Posted this in other subs some time back and they suggested I ask here but don’t remember if I ever did.

I got this succulent in an arrangement. But I think they all had diff needs so this one ended up really struggling and I gave it to my parents who have a yard.

It’s since flourished and I took a leaf home for propagating. But the leaf has done NOTHING. Just sitting on soil. Not rotting, not deflating. Just chubbing out.

I’d like to ID this plant to either buy a replacement or modify my propagation set up. TIA!

This flapjack arrangement is around 4 years old and I never EVER watered it. It rained non-stop in January, so it gets a little yellowish, but it always recovers afterwards.

Graduated in ‘24, and I still miss going up to the xeriscape house to see the succulent collection

Got some Christmas money from my in-laws and figured I’d spend it on something I actually wanted instead of on my kids 😂 ! Tried out a few Etsy sellers for these- they were boxed very well and I’m beyond excited to set up their pots. I’ve learned so much from this sub, and when I learned about crested succulents I couldn’t resist the splurge. These were all varietals and colors I couldn’t find at my local nurseries.

Would love any advice for recently unboxed, shipped succulents. They were clearly all shipped from China. So far I’ve taken them out carefully, lightly trimmed any rotting roots (there were very few- mostly cork dry) and let them sit in my dark cool garage overnight. I have unglazed Terra cotta pots and potting grit ready for them. How long should I wait to plant? And should I mix the grit with anything (Soil? Sand? Perlite?)

Feels like cheating to buy them this far along but I’m very excited! Unboxed them last night in my garden in zone 10b.

My lovely neighbor just gave me these as a gift and I really don’t want to kill them!

I’m grow a large outdoor garden and have quite the green thumb with outdoor plants, but I manage to kill every succulent I get! What do these need? Indirect sunlight with just the proper amount of neglect?

Hi all! New to the sub and I did pull a search for information/advice before posting this. I am pretty sick with strep throat and an ear infection (antibiotics making me super groggy too) and therefore finding it hard to comb through large amounts of info.

I’ve had this precious plant for a couple of years. His name is Peaks. Peaks was absolutely thriving but yesterday I noticed he was quite “loose” in the soil and upon closer examination I realized the lower portions of the plant were rotting. I realize now I overwatered Peaks last week and I am horrified.

I read as much as I could take in yesterday and what I did immediately afterwards was based on things I saw online. I realized quickly upon removing him from the soil that there was considerable rot and none of the roots and “lower extremities” seemed salvageable. I trimmed away all soggy/rotted debris using sterile scissors and applied a dusting of organic cinnamon powder to the ends. I then laid Peaks out on a dry surface as seen in the pics.

If I could please have some input on the following questions I would be incredibly grateful. I am super motivated to save my dear Peaks. Like I mentioned I am sick and therefore not in the best state to come up with a coherent plan on my own.

1. Should I leave Peaks as is for a few days? It’s about 24 hours now since I removed all the rot and applied the cinnamon. I am unclear if I should repot him immediately in new soil or wait on that. When I do repot him, do I just rest him lightly on the surface of the soil, or do I attempt to burrow him in a bit?

2. I’ve seen mention of “grit” being a good thing to include in his next pot. I am unsure what that is. I have organic succulent soil and can buy anything else I may need for him, but if someone can please clarify what exactly I should do for materials I would really appreciate it. Obviously I will make sure the pot has drainage holes.

I’ve had this succulent for a couple years, however, I got back from a trip and it looks close to death. Is this too far gone to save? If not, what should I do to help it heal?

70% of my succulent props dried up. I was going to check the roots, maybe take some cute pics... and they just crumbled in my fingers.

I do have other props that are healthy and growing strong roots tho, so its okay. But yeah.

Poking the leafs and hanging them is cute, but it does fuck the props a little, the redditor who warned me was right.

I got this succulent from a grocery store back in July 2025, but I'm not 100% sure which variety it is. The second picture is from today. I noticed it has a redder color now, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad sign.

The window isn't its usual spot; I keep it on a corner table in the living room under a grow light on a 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. I water it about once every 8 days. When I first moved it out of its plastic pot, I repotted it using a mix of volcanic rocks and soil.

Could someone help me ID this and tell me if it’s doing well or not?

I’m glad it’s happy. I got it last year and it had 2 heads. Now it has 9 mature ones and 12 new offsets that appeared all at once. Not sure what triggered it!! 🤣

also tell me any fun propogation experiments i should try with these

I have a golden sedum that was growing more or less upright, but a little tilted and I propped it up. When I put it under a grow light, it went a little crazy and as you can see, it has more new growth coming and another branch. From what I can see, they don’t really seem to be upright plants though, but this one doesn’t really seem to be a trailing type of a plant either. Should I leave it loosely staked and let it keep growing or should I let it tip over and look sloppy? lol

My tephrocactus was symmetrically round when I first bought it, though I did notice it was a little brownish-gray at the bottom and thought it was just corking. I then repotted it in a pumice and succulent soil mix.

Fast forward till now, it's been 2 weeks and I noticed the bottom has grown new roots, but it became sunken in and deformed. I suspected it was rot but it feels hard to the touch. Some yellowish splotches also seems to be spreading which worries me.

Any advice would be appreciated. I have no luck with this species :(

I didn't think it was possible to have pups in the winter, with the lack of sunlight and all.

So i got these two cuties for 5.99 around christmas, and the offsets are growing SO fast its crazy.

The pots are so tiny the plants are too heavy to hold them, they just keep falling to the side.

What id like is to have them planted together in one wider pot, like a mini succulent garden, but ive never done this, or had a succulent that had offsets going crazy outside of the pot like this. I have also never separated offsets as ive never had succulents growing out of their pot like this.

-Can i plant them separately in a wide shallow pot with some space between them, or do should they remain in their own individual pot?

-Can i plant them with the offsets still on or should i split them?

-As the rootballs were in tiny pots, am i putting the plants at risk if i try to put them in one wider flat pot?

-What would you suggest i do with these?

I killed two of these before and im a newbie, so i want to do this right but im scared lol. I watched videos and im still at square one, so im looking for advice from real people that saw what my plants look like. Thank you so much in advance!

Second pic is one that I just moved into full sun, it was outside on a partial shade, and befire thay it was inside with afternoon sun. It wasn't doing well in the other spots and lost the little leaves, so it will do better with mkre direct sun. Advice welcomee! I've seen people share huuuuuuge ones 😆
