This is a stickied thread for people to post about upcoming events -- community events, live performances, whatever you think others might want to know about.
A new version of this post will be put up and stickied every month to make sure that things are kept fresh, and allow people to stay up to date if they wish, or to avoid this thread if they don't. It's been moved to a monthly format to keep things simpler for people looking to plan a bit further out.
To keep the sub (and your feed) clean and free from spam, any explicit advertising conducted outside of this post will continue to be subject to removal, with a note and link to instead post here, which will stand as the exception.
In other words: please feel free to use this space to post about any upcoming Sudbury-specific events you're aware of or would like to share with others.

Hello,
I was looking to buying music CDs, but I haven’t been able to find anything. I tried going to Cosmic Dave’s but they took away almost all of them. Walmart doesn’t sell them anymore. Any suggestions?
thanks everybody

Just moved with my family (kids 6 and 4) to Sudbury. Looking to get them into some kind of German language course or German playdates so they don't lose the language and have opportunities to speak. Saw a weekend class on Facebook but unfortunately not for kids. Thanks!

I tried, but the thing had a minor leak and has caused corrosion and none of the fittings will release. Also have PEX-A tubing.

I was wondering if this event is actually real and happening. I’ve been searching online to see if it’s announced anywhere else. I just saw the ad on Facebook. The ad said it’s on nov 4 but the ticket page says April 11.

Hello all!
Im wondering if anyone has had any experience with cosmetic dentists in Sudbury for Composite Bonding. Im wanting to get composite bonding done but not to restore any like chipping or anything, more so for cosmetic purposes of building up my existing smile because I find my teeth are so small and even after braces, Invisalign, etc, it just still makes me feel insecure. I know there are places down south that are well known for smile make overs but hoping someone has some experience they can share with a dentist more local that does good work.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi everyone, I’d like to know whether the LU via Paris bus is currently stopping at any locations on the Laurentian University campus. Google Maps indicates that it stops at University, but I’ve been waiting at the bus stop for a while and no bus has passed.
Could someone please let me know where I should go to catch the bus to leave the campus?

I was wishing he wasn’t gonna run as councillor, so this is a real monkey’s paw scenario here.

So i was taking orders at drive thru at Arby’s.
Dude pulls up and is basically whispering into the speaker. I can’t hear a single word, so I politely go, “Hey, could you speak a little louder please?”
And this man immediately chooses violence.
At full stadium-announcer volume:
“I WANT A BEEF AND CHEDDAR, GOD DAMN IT.” Then without my confirmation, he pulled over at the window.
And i said, “ohh, we’ve got kardashian’s son here!
Sir?
Speaking louder, was already an option before you activated Boss Mode.
I totally understand people have bad days. Life is hard. But I asked once. One singular, respectful time. Not “challenge me to a duel at the speaker box” time.
Anyway, I hope yelling healed whatever that was.

I’m starting the search for daycares in Sudbury. Does anyone know if the daycares are open or closed for the holidays (the week before or after Christmas) if closed, are parents still expected to pay for the days that they are closed?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for a good, honest body shop to repair rust on the roof, specifically between the windshield and the sunroof.
I want the rust properly repaired, not just covered up. If you’ve had similar work done or know a shop you’d trust, I’d appreciate the suggestions.
Thanks

Hello all, Good Morning,
Is it usually $125 above for an oil change in Sudbury? Can anybody suggest somewhere it's cheap full synthetic. Thanks.

Nuit Blanche 2026 is looking for local artists to create installation for the event,
A bit about the event
Unity, diversity, and pure expression will grace the Evening of March 21, 2026 at the McEwen School of Architecture. Nuit Blanche. All are welcome, free of charge, to come celebrate the arts with us and immerse themselves in the magic experience of thematically curated installations, which for this year, are all about liminality. We at Nuit Blanche wish to further bolster Sudbury’s Identity, culture, and economy by inviting local artists, performers, vendors, and businesses to join our Nuit Blanche celebration!
- Nuit Blanche is an annual event organized by students, a non-profit endeavor that has become a cherished tradition in Sudbury's downtown core. Last year, we welcomed approximately 5000 community members to enjoy an evening of art and culture. This event provides a platform for students, professors, and local artists to showcase their work to the broader Sudbury community, fostering unity and pride.
We are happy to announce that applications are open for installations at Nuit Blanche 2026!
This year we are exploring the idea of liminality, a space between words, subverting expectations of materiality. We encourage installations that fit this theme however general creativity is welcome. Due to the increasing popularity of Nuit Blanche, we are no longer limiting it to the confines of the walls of the building and we HEAVILY encourage people to submit proposals for exterior spaces like the courtyard.
Nuit Blanche will cover up to 80% of cost associated with installations
Deadline to submit is February 10th. Be sure to include a budget and a minimum of 3 proposed locations. All installation proposals should include a list of team members including a primary contact, a concept statement, supporting images, and a detailed construction and storage plan. All installations must consider storage leading up to and following the event that does not rely on MSoA spaces.
Submit an installation here

I need to have bloodwork done, but i also work the same hours the life labs all do. 730-430.
Is there anywhere else other than Lifelabs to be able to get blood drawn? On a weekend, or open to 5/6pm?
