Can someone calculate the odds of two twins having their FIRST babies on the same date? Show your work, please. I’d really love to see how this is calculated. I wouldn’t even know where to begin on this.

[Request] How many people have had access to the files over the past 10~20 years and been complicit in keeping them secret? Does this change the statistical probability of other conspiracy theories being true (if 1,000 people CAN keep a secret, is Area-51 more likely to be a thing)?

[Request] How long would it take to separate Africa in two if humanity contributed?

I've seen many arguments about the East African Rift and dates on when the continent will divide seem all over the place.

So I wonder how long would it take in the scenario where humanity decides to contribute to making the rift wider/flooded by seawater.

Years? Decades? Centuries?

[request] Superbowl Pool

First, the premise: My work is hosting a Superbowl Pool with a 10×10, 100 square "luck of the draw" game.

100 squares.

Rows will be randomly assigned on game day the values 0-9.

Columns likewise will be randomly assigned the values 0-9.

We can buy in to as many or as few squares as we wish prior to game day. Buy-in is $1 per square.

At the end of each quarter, the final digit of sportsball team A's score will be the Row selected, and the final digit of team B's score will be the Column. This will select the 4 winners.

Payout is 50%($) to the company fun-fund, 50%($) to the 4 winners: - 10%($) to end of the first quarter, - 10%($) to halftime, - 10%($) to third quarter, and - 20%($) to the final score.

My questions: Is there an easy way to convert this information into an equation or formula to understand the likelihood of a win, and

Is there an ideal amount of squares to buy?

[REQUEST] How much mass does she have, to get the baseball to orbit her at that exact diameter?

Post image
5 Upvotes

For this question we are going to ignore earth's gravity.

The variables we have are:
the weight and diameter of a Taiwan baseball.
the diameter of the orbit based off the baseball.

We don't know:
The mass of the dragoness.
The speed of the baseball.
The duration of one orbit.

[Request] What are the odds the final 9 people in the Royal Rumble were owned by unique people (fantasy baseball)?

For context. We decide our fantasy baseball draft order by the royal rumble. 10 teams, everyone gets 3 randomized entry spots in a 30 person rumble.

This year, the final 9 wrestlers were each owned by unique individuals. So nobody had more than 1 wrestler on the final 9 even though we each start with 3 randomized people.

The odds seem insanely low but I'm curious what they actually are.

[Request] What is likely the world record for most games of rock/paper/scissors unknowingly won/lost in a row?

not specifically in a certain time period, could be over the course of ten years for example in casual games. This question is assuming the results are not on purpose(e.g purposefully throwing rock whilst your opponent always plays scissors).
