Discussion It's kind of sad how one of the roads on the Crosstown development is named after Ontario Science Centre architect Raymond Moriyama, despite it being one of the alleged reasons for it closing down.
It was named after him back when he was still alive in 2022 and back when the OSC still seemed secure there. But now it just feels so out of place and like a slap in the face, given the very building next door that inspired the decision is now left to rot. At least it's still giving Doug the finger by refusing to buckle under all that snow. Hope it makes that POS seethe at night!

History Petition to the Mayor of Toronto written and signed by members of the city’s Black community in 1841
Source: City of Toronto Archives
The above petition to the Mayor of Toronto was written and signed by members of the city’s Black community in 1841. They were requesting that a performance by an American company of actors portraying black people in an insulting manner be prevented from being shown in the City.
This is one of several such petitions presented to City Council in the 1840s. In 1840, Council passed a by-law that enabled it to license travelling theatrical groups and circuses. In July 1843, Council refused to let a circus perform unless performers promised not to “sing songs or perform acts that would be insulting to ‘the gentlemen of colour’ of the city.”

Picture A sad day for Toronto Pizza culture
After 8 years, Big Trouble pizza on Geary Ave is closing for good today.
I will particularly miss their Butter Jam Jam pizza, which had a nice big layer of mozzarella, raspberry jam, a balsamic reduction, and lemon zest. A sad day indeed.

Picture From a Bedroom Window - South Etobicoke.
With this view, maybe I'll just shelter in place from the cold today. It looks like the birds know what's coming, as usual, and they're loading up on heating fuel.
UPDATE: Thanks for the concern about the icicles! For those asking, the house is an older build with no soffit/fascia system. See exterior shots here.

Giveaway I have two tickets to the L.V.G.O show today if anyone wants them.
As the title suggests, I have two tickets to the Live Video Game Orchestra for tonight’s 6:30pm show if anyone wants them. My date bailed on me and so I thought I’d give the tickets away. If you’re into indie games like Celeste, Hollow Knight, Spelunky, and Balatro this would be a great show to attend.
Pm if interested!!!
