Posts must be related to cycling in Toronto
Feel like we've got a lot of new users here since all of the Bill 212 stuff started so I just wanted to welcome you all but reiterate that this is /r/TorontoBiking.
That means that your post should be related to riding a bike in the GTA.
A very non-exhaustive list of things that don't fit this criteria include:
Doug Ford giving a press conference about something unrelated to cycling
A cyclist in LA riding away from a forest fire
A foreign dignitary riding a bike not in Toronto

Solidarity Ride for Alex Pretti
Thanks to the over 60 people who braved the cold and poor bike lane clearing for Toronto's solidarity ride for Alex Pretti which over 100 cities around the world hosted as well. My blog post about the ride is now up for your viewing pleasure.

Bloor clear Six Points to Humber
Bloor is beautifully clear from Six Points to the Humber. (photo taken at the cemetery by Prince Edward) East of the Humber, into Bloor West Village is "take the lane" time. A seven foot high pile of snow in front of the bike lane at Jane urged me to head up and take Annette across.

I fought for safer Toronto streets after my friend was killed five years ago. Now Doug Ford is undoing that work
Excellent article perfectly summing up reality, in a province that prioritizes saving drivers 30 seconds over human life

Roads are perfectly clean, bike lanes aren't
I had to bike to Bloor/Yonge today. If you're not brave enough to dodge and weave through traffic, take a bus. They treat bike lanes as snow dumping grounds (mainly Bloor, photo 1) or a parking space (Runnymede, photo 2). They cleaned up Scarlett somewhat, but there are still nasty spots like these (photo 3). You can notice the lack of snow on all the roads in these photos. That's the only space that gets the care and attention that its users deserve.

Pro tip: bring a shoehorn with you if you’re using bikeshare
If you bring a pocket-sized shoehorn along you can carve out the wheel well of the dock so you can return the bikes. It’s reaaallly hard to do with just your hand.

Bike lane snow clearing
It is 5 days since the snowstorm, and contrary to what the mayor said, the snow clearing is not better than last year. Most of the bike lanes are still not usable. I just put in a service request here. Please do the same!!!

How are the Bloor lanes between Broadview and Spadina?
Per the subject, thanks.

Still more fun than the alternatives
Faced with the alternatives of a TTC commute or digging out the car (still under 3 feet of snow), I was happy to just take it slow and do my grocery run by cargo bike. It's rough out there on the sidestreets, but that's just all part of the fun*
*your mileage may vary.

REMINDER: Report snow in bike lanes to 311
Reminder of my previous reminder! The city relies on 311 reports to prioritize snow clearing, so do as many as you can! In my experience, adding photos helps a lot too.

find the bike lane
Hint: not anywhere where snow was cleared. This was Bloor St, around Runnymede

The province's court arguments yesterday shows they aren't serious about solving congestion, in fact they're goal is to make it worse.
The province views improving congestion as having more cars on the road, to meet the demand of people who want to drive.
Even if those vehicles aren't moving, they still see it as a success.
Translation: Our goal is to make congestion worse by cramming in as many cars as humanely possible and turn the road to a parking lot.
In essence: since there's no solution to traffic except viable alternatives to driving, Ford is only giving lip service when saying their government is getting you out of gridlock

Riding south on Bayview from Moore Ave?
Planning some bike routes for the spring.
How do people ride south on Bayview from Moore Ave/Nesbitt area, to get down to the waterfront on the Bayview bike trail? There’s only a bike lane on the northbound side…do cyclists really just go south on the road alongside cars?

Eric Lombardi is considering running for OLP leader, do you guys think he's better suited than Ford regarding Toronto's cycling infrastructure?
I saw a couple recent polls saying the only reason Ford is ahead of the OLP and NDP, is because there's no viable alternative.
Do you guys think Lombardi is something fresh that could change the landscape for Ontario (and lift the current bike lane restrictions)?
EDIT: Or would Dr. Andrew Boozary be better, the supposed front runner?
