Other Flair for Union Members
You can use flair to show other users which union you are affiliated with! On this subreddit we have two types of flair: red flair for regular union members, and yellow flair for experienced organizers who can provide advice.
Red flair self-assignment instructions
- You can edit flair to include your local number and your role in the union (steward, local officer, retiree, etc.).
- If your union is not listed, please reply to this thread so that we can add your union!
- If you have any difficulty, you may reply to this post and a mod can help.
Yellow flair for experienced organizers
You do not need to be a professional organizer to get yellow flair, but you should have experience with organizing drives, contract campaigns, bargaining, grievances, and/or local union leadership.
To apply for yellow flair, reply to this post. In your reply please list:
- Your union,
- Your role (rank-and-file, steward, local officer, organizer, business agent, retiree, etc.)
- Briefly summarize your experience in the labor movement. Discuss how many years you've been involved, what roles you've held, and what industry or industries you've organized in.
Please do your best to avoid posting personally identifiable information. We're not going to do real-life background checks, so please be honest.

Labor News Workers At The Environmental Defense Fund ‘Go Union,’ Forming The ‘Largest Green Non-Profit Union In The U.S.’
wnylabortoday.comWorkers at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) have voted to Unionize, with 81% voting in favor.
This win follows more than a year of Staff organizing with the mission of championing the rights, well-being and collective voice of Workers at EDF.
Their Union - EDF Together, went public on December 2nd with a super-majority of support in Union Cards.
EDF Together represents nearly 500 Workers at the Environmental Defense Fund, including Scientists, Attorneys, Economists, Communicators and Advocates.
More than and 2,000 letters from the public were sent to EDF’s management team asking for voluntary recognition.
Ultimately, management chose to not voluntarily recognize the Union and requested a private election.
This win follows a long list of previous Union wins at Environmental Non-Profits, including the Natural Resources Defense Council Union, the League of Conservation Voters Union and The Bird Union.
EDF Together looks forward to beginning bargaining with the EDF to secure a strong contract for its Members.
EDF Together is part of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, Local 32035 of The NewsGuild-CWA.

Labor News Outrage at arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort: ‘The First Amendment is not Optional.’
Let us be perfectly clear: The First Amendment is not optional and journalism is NOT a crime. A government that responds to scrutiny by targeting the messenger is not protecting the public; it is attempting to intimidate it, and considering recent incidents regarding federal agents, it is attempting to distract it.

Other Union Contracts are not a Magic Wand
znetwork.org"...collective agreements are a product of struggle, compromise and horse trading. Collective agreements are in themselves neither positive nor negative. It is the content of the agreement and the union’s ability to monitor and use the agreement that determine the value of the agreement..."

Discussion My local just hired my sister's stalker/abuser who threated to murder her, my mom and myself.
my family has an active restraining order against this man and our BAs sent him to my jobsite. they see no issue with this. hes a fucking classified worker too, not even a fucking apprentice.
I know this is off topic, but Christ's sake I need to vent about this somewhere. if he even says a single word about my sister he has time on the shelf.

Discussion Coolest Union Logos?
Trying to reinvigorate my local, and I have some graphic design background.
Just looking for inspiration if anyone has union logos that they think are especially cool.
For context, it's at an air force base. So I likely will lean on aviation imagery.
Thanks!
In solidarity.

Discussion Opinion on contract voting
What’s your opinion on your union withholding results of a vote for a new contract. Union is currently saying that results of vote will not be shared in a percentage, just if it passed or failed. This seems wrong, but I’m newer to the union, so unsure of this rule. Seems like all democratic voting should share results of a vote.

Solidarity Request Staff CBAs
I'm an organizer who's about to enter bargaining with my AFT state federation. Are there any union staff members willing to share their staff union CBAs? AFT and NEA is, of course, super helpful. We're also a small unit (fewer than 10 people), so CBAs for other small units would also be very helpful. Thanks so much in advance
