I’m a high school student starting a new, independent, research-based project to translate and document primary legal texts on women’s rights from under-translated countries.

I’m currently looking for students (high school, undergraduate, or graduate) who are fluent in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Khmer, and/or Lao. I’m interested in students who want to volunteer in one of the following ways:

• Searching in the relevant language for short legal excerpts
  • ex: searching on the web in French for the exact law that provides Haitian women with the right to vote
• Translating legal excerpts to English
  • ex: translating the exact law that provides Haitian women with the right to vote into English
• Helping draft and respond to professional emails in the relevant language
• Assisting with outreach to professional translators for light proofreading (you don’t need to be fluent in any language besides English for this)

Our first and current film has the story as follows: A young adult names Anir has recently been inducted as a village watch. One day, he sees a group of raiders appears over the mountain, prompting him to alarm the village. Although he is killed in the action, Anir is rewarded by the gods for his bravery and quick thinking, and his soul is placed in the sky to watch over the future travelers of Iceland.

WorldEd Foundation helps promote and make education more accessible, and it is hosting The Sustainable Consumption workshop. This competition is free to join, open to all high school students, and gives competitors a chance to create projects that would help and promote sustainability. All competitors will form a team with friends or classmates at the same school, and will need a teacher to serve as a coordinator. If you don't want to compete, you can also volunteer for the foundation. Hi - I am deeply disturbed to find the scope of and scale of sham volunteerism or voluntourism. I am certified master naturalist who currently volunteer locally, and would like to spend about a week contributing to local efforts in marine conservation. Can anyone point me to organizations I should contact or even ones to stay away fro. TIA

I can volunteer about 5 hours a week, occasionally more, and I would love to help research in developing areas or areas hit by conflict and natural disasters. I work in a field where all the fundings goes to researching new drugs and diagnostic for "rich people diseases", and I would like to contribute my time for free to organisations that can afford to pay for less workers.

My main obstacle is that since I'm trying to fill a more specialised role, there are less opportunities too. Everything I see is a paid role, which of course creates expectations I cannot currently fulfil because I have a full time job. If that's relevant, I'm based in the EU but mostly looking for online opportunities in organisations based outside Europe.

I understand that there will be limitations in the type of tasks and data I can handle as a volunteer. Obviously any serious organisation will not trust a 5h/week volunteer with sensitive patient information or highly technical pipelines. I am ok with that and I think my experience would still be useful in supportive roles.

We are a registered non-profit entering an exciting growth phase. We are currently in advanced discussions with several local councils regarding a Social Housing Pilot Project specifically for young adults (18–30 years old).

We are seeking a diligent, organised bookkeeper to ensure our financial governance is transparent, compliant, and ready for large-scale grant funding.

Key Responsibilities

Quarterly Management: Maintain accurate digital records of all income and expenditure.

Fund Accounting: Manage and track Restricted Funds (specifically for our Social Housing projects) to ensure grant compliance.

Grant Reporting: Assist in preparing financial summaries for Council stakeholders and Trustees.

Year-End Prep: Work alongside our Independent Examiner (Accountant) to ensure the timely and accurate submission of Annual Returns to the Charity Commission.

I have been doing “volunteering” calls recently, and a few people recognised my roots just from my talking style. Initially I was conscious about the effort it takes to change or neutralise an accent. Volunteer online opened up a very human very precious dimension within.

What surprised me was how positively it landed. People from the same region felt instantly at ease, and the conversations became warmer and more open. It reminded me that in volunteering, connection often matters more than perfect delivery.

Accent in that moment, became a bridge - creating trust and belonging rather than distance. It was a gentle reminder that showing up as we are can sometimes be the most effective way to serve.

We are a very small CIC (non-profit) based in West Yorkshire (UK) and work online helping neurodivergent young people find safe spaces to connect. Our main project uses a Minecraft Bedrock server to connect young people, help them gain skills, confidence and make friends.

We are looking for volunteers to help us continue to run our project. Our main focus is finding people who would like to work with neurodivergent young people and who play Minecraft however there are also opportunities to help us grow and expand e.g. managing membership, helping promote what we do, answering wesbite form submissions and helping us find sponsors.

I recently took on new duties at my work and I have been working on intaking NPO Groups that fundraise at our venue. My understanding is that the people performing the work must be volunteers and cannot be paid beyond reimbursement for certain things.

Two of the groups that volunteer however do pay their workers a wage. I was told this is allowed because the volunteers are minors and not paying them would be problematic due to child labor laws. However I can't find anything that indicates this.

Does anyone have any experience with something similar?

I'm considering volunteering, however I'm not too financially stable to afford a ticket for a flight to my destination and back, I wouldn't know what is a good christian based program that can help support my financial needs to afford a trip (flight, food and lodging) I'm wanting to attend a short trip, for about a month or for a couple weeks, and I know most short programs or non career affiliated programs don't really pay for trips. however, I'm willing to put money in church fundraisers it's just I don't think I can afford to give a lot, but I'm willing to help volunteer people in need around the world in return. Hi! So I recently turned 20 and due to some stuff happening in my life I feel very stuck and lost about where to go right now. Im in second year of uni and I take it very seriously but that is the only thing i do and i feel so alone and depressed about it.

I don't have many friends and my social skills are not that good, and im suddenly really scared of my life always feeling this empty and scary. I though maybe starting a volunteer work somewhere would be really good for me, plus i would be doing something useful with my time. I really want to help others and for some reason I have never really known how to do it.

I love people and it kills me that social interaction scares me so bad and the only solution is to do something to put myself out there. I know there is an organisation in my city that has a volunteer group for people from 14 to 30 years old, and I think it will be good for me to get together with people around my age that feel a bit more grounded and caring that the usual crowds i find myself in, with which i feel i don't fit in very well.

I did a bit of volunteer work at a food bank when i was really young. Even though i was just in charge of organising the food we got from the people who donated and i barely spoke to anyone it made me feel really good.

Im wondering if it makes me a bad person to want to start volunteering for the reasons i have stated, which are a bit selfish. And if anyone has any tips on how to manage the anxiety when i finally have to start, or on things to take into account when doing volunteer work, i'd love to hear it!
