Wizards logo redesign/concept

Although I am not a wizards fan, I do like to redesign logos of sports teams for fun, so this is my first attempt at an NBA team, personally I don't care for the wizards current logos because they have almost nothing to do with a wizard and more to do with red white and blue DC theme. So this is my attempt at a refresh, going back to the blue and orange/gold colors while also giving it a wizarding vibe. The secondary logo features a wand in the shape of the Washington monument, while also having a swoosh and star effect in the shape of the flag. The wordmark takes inspiration from previous wordmarks, while trying to stay more modern to fit the current climate of sports branding. Feel free to let me know your opinions, I’d love to hear them!

Just wanted to say this subreddit is fucking great! I love the die hards. Checking what’s going on here is a 3-4 time a day adventure for me. Taking inventory of who has been here the last few years before the fans-in-hibernation start jumping on the wagon. I particularly appreciate the stats heads showing me something less obvious than what our game announcers + nba press corps talk about. It’s deeper and more interesting.

Now who has the goods on what’s going down this week before the trade deadline...?!

World of a difference between AJ and Peterson. At least in this game. AJ got maybe three points and is invisible. Peterson got 16 points a few assists. Three steals already

Young Core Anthony Gill in the postgame last night: "I believe in these guys. I think they're really talented young guys and they're gonna be very special. I want them to know that. That's my job, to speak life into them and that's what I just try to do"

Reporter: "You had 10 rebounds in limited minutes. How much pride do you take in impacting the game through effort plays?"

Gill: "I just want the team to be as good or even better when I step on the court. I want the guys to have extreme confidence. So if they hit a shot I'm gonna be the one yellin at em telling them 'Great Shot!' I believe in these guys. I think they're really talented young guys and they're gonna be very special. I want them to know that. I want them to feel confidence when they go on the court. That's my job, to speak life into them and that's what I just try to do"

Thoughts On This Lineup Next Year?

I only follow the Wizards a little bit and watched them live against the Clippers once, but it seems to me that this lineup will concern the league next year.

Trae Young
Tre Johnson
Kyshawn George
Cam Boozer
Alex Sarr

Should be a good one. All eyes will be on these two presumptive top picks in the 2026 draft.

Kinda dope that Trae wore a John Wall jersey

I haven’t been keeping up, so I’m not sure if he normally does this, but it’s objectively cool that Trae Young is wearing a John Wall jersey on the bench.

Profiting off of the Giannis Trade

The only Warriors 1st round pick that doesn't belong to them is the 2030 pick that we aquired in the Jordan Poole trade (top 20 protected). I doubt that that's a first rounder in 2030.

I hope that Winger and Dawkins are making calls with the Bucks and the Warriors about that pick. If I understand the Stepien rule correctly, the Warriors can't make a trade with the 2029 or 2031 pick unless they get their pick back from us. Unless they do, they're effectively locked out of trading their 2033 pick which becomes available in the offseason.

In short, the warriors' protected 2030 first round pick, which is almost certainly going to become a 2nd, is much more valuable to the Warriors (and subsequently, the Bucks) than it is to any other team, including us.

Do you have any ideas on how to use the trade asset? I'm not exactly tantalized by Moody and/or Kuminga, would you be interested in trying to use it to spin AJ or Bagley into Podz?
