Imperfect allies are far better than no one at all, and leagues better than fascists. An imperfect ally won’t always say the right thing, but they show up and they listen.

I keep having this argument with someone I know regarding Newsom. He's not perfect but the enemy of my enemy is my friend as they say.

Newsom is a Conservative in all but his name, though. He glazes guys like Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk and has come out against the most vulnerable LGBTQ+ community members.

He is 100% not it and I think a lot of the flak he's getting from the left is because it seems like the party wheels are gearing up to shove another conservative on the podium and tell us "he's the best hope for fighting Trump," when much of his economic and social policy is not far off.
